There's not a lot that screams 'trying to blend in' from the new arrival (it's harder to do that at six feet tall anyway, but that's beside the point). He wears an odd-shaped beanie, a leather jacket with unique logo and lettering on it, bracelets and rings on each hand, a long sleeved plaid shirt tied around his waist, and finishing it off with boots and dark grey jeans. At least he's not wearing too little considering the snow.

(The minute he gets to the communications data point, he is 10000% choosing that specialty, for the record. Nothing else makes sense to him.)

A couple of the snowblower drones somehow winds up blasting a bit of snow all over him. “Could be worse, I guess.” He says to himself, brushing the snow off his front, and making sure his beanie is snow-free, before continuing on.

Of course, he'll spend a lot of time going into buildings in disrepair and seeing what if anything can be salvaged into something useful in them.

He doesn't plan on making a detour into an underground cave, but when the ground gave way to drop him into one, he'll poke around before trying to get out.

His device is clearly propped up on something off-screen, because there's enough space in the shot to see that he's sitting in the seating area of the diner on his assigned ship, a typewriter in front of him (he's not sure how his from home got here, but he's not complaining). ]
