There is no direct source of them, no. They more or less just grow out of the ground, their form flexible as they rise and solidifying as they do. The process takes less than a minute and once they have fully stood up, their bodies are solid and ready to lunge at anything they see.

Once defeated, thier bodies remain for a short while before dissolving back into the ground.
