"We reached the portal and were pulled through. Found the Agrii's homeship on the other side. We were led to believe they were under attack, and as far as they were aware, they had been." Cal shakes his head. "We figured out it was some kind of set-up, that the supposed invaders had just been deposited on the Agrii ship without warning and had been just as clueless about what was happening as the Agrii were. Thankfully we managed to smooth things over and avoid getting anyone killed."

It's easier to reflect on now, but at the same time it's more apparent how badly things could have gone if they'd done anything differently. "Guess it kind of helped that we'd been suspicious about everything, Agrii included, from the start. It's the first we actually ever met any of them, after all."
