You can't spend centuries being Hunter Vanguard and not have that urge to mentor rub off on you. Maybe it isn't so much of an urge so much as an expectation. So many green Hunters coming in, making a nuisance of themselves...dancing on his map on the table.

He doesn't think teaching someone how to protect themselves will hurt any, especially when there's things like giant bugs and who knows what else about.
