Hi, it's James!

I'm new and bringing in Ronan Lynch from the YA novel series The Raven Cycle. Except that he's from the night before his father's death and thus very pre-series, so he's much less of a disaster, for the moment. But this does mean that he's only fifteen, so if anyone wants to decide he needs an eye kept on him, feel free to make the attempt.

He is going to be lacking his best-friend, and thus probably be prone to questionable decisions while he finds his footing. He's also never really been on his own before, so he'll be trying to deal with that one way or another.

I'm very interested in Ronan connecting with other people with powers, especially of the magic type, as well as just figuring out how to have more than his One Friend. He is canonly gay, but this is before he realizes that, so he'll probably work that out in game if anyone's down for Ronan having an awkward oh no he's hot moment at them at some point.

He's fond of Latin and Fast Cars, and used to take part in Irish Music Competitions. He's sort of a nerd, though he likes leather jackets and tries to be cool. Let's plot stuff?

Hello there! I'm Lis and I play this lesser known Jedi, Ezra Bridger.

As I said, I'm pretty canon blind. But Ezra's strengths powers wise are his empathic abilities, visions, and lesser premonitions. He has a lightsaber, but he's not at all the combat tank of say, Anakin (nor do I think he should be).

He never canonically dreamwalks exactly, but he does seem to talk to the spirits of his dead parents in dreams a couple of times? Seems like interacting with Ronan in dreams might reasonably be a thing?

It's Churby here. I've got so many people. I really don't mind if Ronan has a 'oh no he's hot' moment over Tommy if you need someone. he's in his early 20s though, so flattered but wow no. That said, he gets that weird moment of 'oh god i'm into guys' thing and would allow Ronan to talk to him. Especially since he gets the whole powers thing. Too bad Ronan doesn't know his own origins otherwise Tommy would be like 'dude I feel you'

I also do Reeve from FF7, an old architect/city planner/engineer dude who is a wet blanket but tries to be supportive, Lark from Circle of magic who is a mage used to teaching young magic users control and is very motherly, and Lauir-Ell, a nice badass alien woman who smiles a lot.

Thanks! Yesss, I loved Cayde, Ronan is not quite sure what to make of him just yet, which is honestly not the worst reaction. Surprisingly savvy in dealing with an upset teenager, honestly. I am canon blind to most of the except I know Star Wars has games, so there's that. XD

And ahh, I love Tony! And Ronan would absolutely love to talk about cars. He has the keys to his dad's BMW with him for ~sentiment~ but it's not the same. Ronan grew up with an older brother, so Tony is almost definitely not the most annoying person he's had to deal with, at least.

Gosh, yes!! I would love that. Pyrotechnics make his heart sing. Explosives are literally one of Ronan's favorite things. It's like a Christmas gift. It'd make Tony one of his favorites tbqh, which would be hilarious. Basically anything that causes adrenaline makes him happy. He might judge Tony a little for the classic rock, but it's okay, everybody has flaws.

Hahaha! That's...a common reaction, really. Cayde's real easy to get along with if you let him, though, and he knows better than to poke at something obvious. If the kid wants to talk about stuff, then he'll let 'em. If he just wants a friend? That's okay too.

I glossed over your permissions and had a giggle. Cal's Force specialty actually involves psychometry. However his is more based on contact of objects. He'll see whatever memories are most strongly tied to an item.

yessss! Ronan is prior to most of his bad habits aka he's not actively intent on self-immolation, but... Like there's this one adorable scene where he's all "there was adrenaline right there and they were letting it get away!!" and he's still very much that kid. So yes, please, let them be chaotic together. He also happens to love flying.

GASP I don't know how I failed to notice that. I dunno if I've ever seen a 616 Tony, so now I'm extra jazzed. But yes! This'll be excellent. Ronan listens to EDM and electronica along with the Irish music he inherits from his parents.

So, the bottom of his permissions page has a more detailed run down with how psychics/other people with powers interact with his stuff in canon, if you're curious!

But generally speaking, Ronan is psychically loud, so I run with him being easier to read empathy-wise than most people. He also tends to feel very weird to people that can read energy signatures or anything in the vein of perception type powers. He feels specifically like creation.

Which is all stuff I'm generally pretty willing to run with however.

Ronan's dreams however, aren't just dreams- it's more sort of a magical dreamspace that even exists when he's awake? There's also a magic forest involved. He's real weird, lol. In canon, people can reach his dreams but generally this seems to be more sort of seeing into the dream, and communicating with Ronan from outside it.

It is also something that would be pretty tense ICly unless he knows someone pretty well. So while I'm not against playing with dreams, it's definitely something I'd lean towards coming up later.

Yesss, definitely. I absolutely want more Ronan and Tommy, and I think the idea of him having an oh no he's hot moment at Tommy eventually could be cute, especially for the talking it out potential. He needs the help tbh, he's a mess.

YEAH if I ever update him, he really ought to chat with Tommy and Billy about some of the weird stuff, since those are sort of unusual experiences, lol.

Tommy's always a person inspiring an oh no he's hot moment. He IS hot. It's okay. He knows it. Granted he got his boyfriend in this game by literally going 'ahahaha i'm hot and you know it, just say it'. And somehow it worked.

Yeah, if you ever do, go to Tommy and Billy. They might enjoy someone who gets the strange combination of being real and sorta not and having a parent that is a parent but are they REALLY a parent, so much understanding there.

Lark would be happy to try and teach him meditation. Who knows, maybe she can help him get a bit more emotional balance while Ronan learns more about dreaming from Kavinsky?

I'm Zet and I play Jonathan Sims, unlucky protagonist of the Magnus Archives Horror Podcast. Given it's a horror podcast and his canon point is now post-series encountering Jon is very likely to bring up a variety of horror themes, but I tend to keep it mild especially with the gore-y stuff.

...eyes tend to get mentioned a lot, I will add.

He also has his own brand of Eldritch magic at his hands, but I'm entirely canon blind regarding the Raven Cycle, so I'm curious how that all comes together 8D

Eeee, so I have not actually listened to the Magnus Archives at all, but I have sort of picked stuff up through internet osmosis that makes me think that Ronan and Jon would be really interesting.

This stuff is all wayyyy after Ro's canon point, but just for sort of thematic reference: one of the recurring elements of his dreams are night horrors. They're basically embodiments of his fear and self-hatred. Ronan ends up keeping one as a pet eventually.

There's also the Lace: an entity that hates. It is all-consuming and terrifying and the only comfort is that you are too small and insignificant for it to notice... and then-- oh god, oh god, it sees you.

Ronan's magic forest is also not actually a forest at all. So TRC is sort of mostly sort of YA modern fantasy, but with pretty overt horror themes.

So, tldr, I am very here for horror stuff and while this is the soft pre-trauma Ronan, his dreams are still places of horror and madness, and sometimes he brings them back with him. So I'm sure we can come up with some fun things for them, heh. For a given value of 'fun'.

'It sees you' is very much on brand for Jon, btw. He's literally the avatar of the fear of being watched/followed/having your secrets known and generally being too curious for your own good. Hence if he learns about that fancy magic, he'll certainly be interested to learn about it - And maybe try to be helpful if he can?

That's amazing and wonderful, lol. But yes, he's hot, Ronan having A Moment about it is just one of those things that happens! There's too many attractive men around for someone as gay as Ronan. Also, you know, I think he's going to make the ill-advised decision to live in one of the theaters with Kavinsky, so, you know. One way or another he's going to have his gay panic.

Yeahhhh. Hashtag it's complicated, etc etc. Also there's the bonus "so I made my younger brother and if I die he stops existing, but I'm a depressed mess and this stresses me out" once Ronan figures out all the weirdness with his family, lol.

That sounds adorable, actually. Yess. Ronan might not be a good student, because he is definitely one of those has trouble sitting still types, but I think it still might be iiiinteresting.

Oh man! I am totally down for messing with Cal's force stuff if you want to. The psychic who does it in TRC is also apparently typically based on objects. But, you know, Ronan was mouthing off about how he wasn't impressed and so she puts a hand to the back of his neck and then, etc etc. I think it might be because she touches his tattoo which counts as an object, though, which Ronan does not have yet because it's connected to The Trauma.

But tldr I'm pretty down to mess around with that sort of stuff however seems fun. Ronan is psychically loud and feels like creation, and force picks up life energy stuff, right? So I figure there's some intuitive overlap there.

I do say! There's a line in canon about how "the Lynch brothers all loved cars, themselves, and each other" so it is very much A Thing. His best friend in canon drives a hell-orange '73 Camaro, which Ronan is near-literally in love with. And also so banned from driving that Gansey pointedly takes the keys with him when he leaves town, lmao. One of his coping methods after his father's death is street-racing. SO YANNO.

He might actually like Peter, too. Ronan's father, who he adores to the point of hero-worship, is a scoundrel from Belfast, who is most known for telling stories, and needlessly getting himself into trouble because he doesn't know when to shut his mouth. And, well. Being in the business of obtaining magical items, but Ronan doesn't talk about that part. So I feel like he'd be sort of charmed. Tell him Star-Lord stories.

Point being that yes, I think either and/or both could be neat. :)

But Mando! I know precious little about him, aside from that it's one of those shows I've been told I ought to be watching, but I'm super into tossing my messy boy at people and seeing what clicks.

He will, at minimum, probably think that the armor is really cool. So he'll probably make a good first impression at least. ;)

Oh awesome. A lot of Ronan's dreams have themes of being watched/followed/being known (both as a good thing and for ill). Secrets have been basically the entire shape of Ronan's life to this point- however, later in canon he is actually really insistent about the truth, so I tend to think he's less enamored of secrets than one might assume.

So yes, I would love for Jon to help this messy teen.

Yessss! Imo the first two Raven Cycle books are the best, but I've also been enjoying the new trilogy, so I basically just recommend them all, lol.

Although: if you're curious, the story of Ronan and his youngest brother is one of the holiday short stories. And since Ronan is tiny, it isn't hinged on the rest of the series. It's from his older brother's POV, and sort of sad. #lynchfamilydrama
