Gladly! Think of the drawer as if it was filled with a foam liner with sections cut into it. Sorta like this. except, you know, it's not made of foam. The drawer just seems to be made with these sections built into it. They are wide enough that, theoretically, something could have been used to line the holes to serve as padding. There is no sign that the drawer itself is a good conductor of electricity (so far as an engineer or comms person, or ghost for that matter) could argue that it is itself a port these things were accessed through. Just likely storage.
