Miles To Go

Touma mentally debated whether he should disturb the strange guy sleeping on top the decaying pile of fabric. This was the first person Touma managed to encounter since being mysteriously transported to this world. Although he hasn't been here long, the information he received from the white orb and the dilapidated state of the city had left him with the unfortunate conclusion that he was completely alone. He found it hard enough to process the information that been suddenly dumped into his head and accept his current situation, but the emptiness of his new surroundings nearly made his heart break. It dredged up memories he preferred to keep buried deep within the farthest depths of his mind.

So when he stumbled upon the sleeping teen during his aimless wandering, Touma felt a huge weight left from his shoulders. He immediately wanted to wake him up and bombard him with questions, but a particular thought popped into his head that prevented him from calling out to him; what was a teenager like him doing in the ruins of an abandoned city? Was he an orphan who was left behind when the rest of the natives abandoned their home? Although this seemed to be the most likely possibility, their appearance and the state of the building contradicted this. Their clothes showed little sign of wear or age and his body was too athletic for someone living in such terrible conditions. The building, in contrast, was filled with broken glass and undisturbed dust from years of neglect.

The guy clearly didn't live here. What that meant for his current situation was unknown, but he ultimately concluded that continuing to ponder about it wasn't doing him any good. This guy was his only lead in this empty world, for better or worse.

“Hey, sorry to wake you up, but could you help me out? I just need you answer a few questions and I'll be on my way.” The spiky-haired teen shouted, making sure keep his distance on the off chance the person turned out to be hostile.
