Lay off, he's trying. But he will be fine making a fool of himself with Bucky. At least when he laughs Steve can tackle him into the floor and kiss him into stopping.

But right now there's pressing concerns. Steve swipes his own finger in and sees for himself that it's not burning. It has about the same consistency as oil, too. Steve sniffs one last time before being the reckless moron he is and licking it off his finger. The taste is... interesting. And he doesn't immediately die so that is promising.

"It tastes a little like soy sauce, I think? Very salty at any rate. I'm not sure that it's meant for eating but it isn't necessarily awful." Steve looks around them and frowns a bit at the shield. Sort of like a big bowl...

"Should we take some back with us?"
