"That's another question. Have you seen anything out there that qualifies as a threat?" He's not so paranoid to automatically view everything unfamiliar as a threat, but as she pointed out, this isn't their planet, and that's reason enough to be wary.

It's not surprising that he's been thinking along the same lines as her. They've known each other for so long, it's normal for them to slip into the roles of each other's backup.
