The creatures are small and fast and annoying to face without proper equipment. What’s also annoying is the reality that it’s better to stand back-to-back with Steve, giving better coverage of their flanks and backs as the armadillo-ish things attempt to swarm them. They’re certainly tenacious, a trait he can understand — and even admire, if it wasn’t making their lives a little more difficult right now.

“Do you always talk this much?” he finally asks, though without taking his eyes off their supposed prey. It’s certainly jarring compared to the way he fights. He’s not supposed to be seen, heard or noticed and those that do notice are usually dead not long after. He might not be that assassin anymore but those skills and habits are not easily forgotten.

The creatures charge and he pivots, fast, intending to meet them on his left. That arm is strong enough to take whatever punishment they can dole out, he’s pretty sure. He’s definitely interested in bringing the fight to a close.
