Bucky just nods, taking that statement at face value - he's got no reason not to, after all, until or unless he sees otherwise.

He does smile a little, at the question, though, because, "Honestly, no. I mean, nature's not really my thing, but I'd think we might have seen signs of something that could do that much damage by now."

Maybe. He hopes. He could definitely be wrong. "But maybe don't quote me on that," he adds, wryly.
