Twins Birthday Approaches - OOC Mini Mingle

Is it really October in TRP without some touching on the twins' birthday? Answer: no. Clearly the tradition must continue.


October 13th is the birthday for these two cuties (who are not the same age anymore because canon updates). Last year it was on the Agrii Ship, the year before it was them trying to keep each other okay while the Agrii locked people on their ships to meet their crews.


This year Lauri-Ell is planning a party partially with Wanda's help if that's still okay for the Prince and his Brother. It will be held at Billy and Tommy's home on the day. And Lauri-Ell is looking for help.


Our Kree Lady Buffness doesn't know about human parties and what is expected at them. So what does that mean? Well, first of all if you're human and her CR, it means we can handwave that she's asked about human celebration customs and sworn you to secrecy. If you're human and her CR and close CR to Tommy and/or Billy, you are likely to be recruited into the party team. After all, how is she supposed to put up the decorations she's learned about. And if you're not her CR but like parties, well, who is to say you didn't hear two people talking about it and came to crash.


So, does this sound interesting/fun/cool? What I was thinking is that there could be some discussion and plotting in here of who might want to come, or what advice people might offer, and then in a few days I'll post up a mingle log that is forward dated (since I want to make sure I don't conflict with the event and give people some time to tag and enjoy it).

Lauri has learned very little about human celebrations of birth. She has learned this so far:

-Cake (which is baked in a pan and is not pizza and should have candles and frosting)
-Dinner should be had
-Gathering should be done with friends
-There is apparently a song that americans sing. She does not know what it is (could be hilarious to teach her wrong songs)

Beyond this, she doesn't know anything, and literally these as they are are all she knows. She's truly lost. Clearly the best party planner, right? Teach the Kree culture!



So, anyone wanna teach her something (or handwave teaching her things) and help her plan a party?

Lauri would appreciate that. And then ask how he cooked it. Because wow, she's definitely not experimenting with something that uncommon.

He'd let her watch the whole process if she wanted, lol. But he understands not everyone has the stomach for that. Maybe she could just watch the cooking part?

Oh, she could happily watch both parts. She's hunted before here. She can handle it. It's mostly the cooking she does not know what to do with.

She can tag along for the whole process if she wants then. Cobb learned to cook by watching his family cook so it's a decent way to learn.

Ezra may be the wrong person to ask about birthdays. (He canonically is ambivalent about his, at best). But uh. He'd try to be helpful?

Other people's birthdays are cool in his book, just his that he's weird about.

It's okay if he can't help. Lauri understands. She hasn't had a birthday herself, so she gets not getting what they are like.

Jon will be there. He won't be great at party preparations, but he can give Lauri-Ell a literal lecture about birthday party traditions, their history. It won't be immediately helpful to her, but hey! Free knowledge!

Alberto could bring to the party some of that sponge from the ocean that tastes like cake, as well as
fish/crustaceous and the like for dinner. That works, right? He's never really celebrated many b-days either.

He does know that you need to decorate the place to have a real party, Lauri! Time to find colorful lights or banners, the latter could be made with pieces of clothes? He could also bring some of the jellyfishes that glow, as ambient light, then release them back into the ocean.

Actually, on reflection - I do think Ezra has some experience with happier birthdays and birthday parties from House of Billy! (Although that is also complicated.)

At any rate, he would definitely be happy to help with party prep. Community building!

Damn that's a hard question. I think if she were aware of Tommy's positive opinions of Tony she'd tell him, and she definitely doesn't know how Billy and Tony are with each other. Then again, he is from their Earth...

There is half of me that is like 'i can't believe tommy won't figure it out and is just not telling people he did because that ruins it'.

I suppose I'll poke Devon and see if Lauri has any clue if Billy and Tony are close. after all for her this is more about Billy, it's just that even she understands that a party for one twin while excluding the other one is rude

Oh a lecture. She will not be certain if she is in trouble or has gotten a trove of information. But she will be glad for the smart man helping with knowledge. She likes learning.

Ooooh cakeish thing. Lauri would be excited. She would thank her little friend very much. But he should tell her when his birthday is so she can try and give him a party too.

And I, as a player, have my heart warmed at the idea of catch and release jellyfish lights!

Well. Assuming it's the same in Billy's and Tommy's actual Earth as what Billy's spell gave him memories of. Ezra thinks that's a reasonable assumption!

(And one we should go with probably, for less longterm confusion, but the thought of memes and pop culture from House of Billy being ever so slightly off is funny, too.)

Yeah, I hope Jon tells him. Like, Tony was so kind as to sorta help with the party last year too, so Tommy would be sad if his kinda-sorta-mentor wasn't there.

Maybe one day they will recover, if Tony stops trying to prod her into distress. Which is just so easy to do.

Nobody really thinks to tell Tony because why would they, and Lauri can be like 'of course I didn't invite him, I thought we all knew he's an asshole' at the party and/or Tommy assumes Tony's still kind of mad at him for that fight that they still haven't really talked since
