Max inhales, "She's working two jobs, and passed out the rest of the time. She probably has no idea what's going on." Sure, that's all it is. She's going to allow that, for now, because it might be true. Dustin getting asked to help Eddie's uncle is promising, after all.

"When we get back, and I'm out of the hospital, I'll help you look for another job," Max offers, eyes flickering down, then up to Robin's. "I'm going to be sixteen soon enough. And I'll be able to work and help my mom. Might as well get started on that, right?"

There's a laugh, a dark one. "Yeah. Steve won't let me drive anymore. So fine, he's going to have to do all of that."

She darkens when they cycle back to Billy. "Why did you think that I wouldn't want to? He's..." she looks down, sighs out, and shakes her head a little, "my brother. And yeah. Aren't most people?" Beat. "Besides. I'm one of the few people that can handle Billy."

Robin doesn't have to out anyone - Billy will do half of that later. Max might be able to figure out Billy on her own after that part. She's not going to out herself to any of them, though. Not any time soon.

"Exactly. Fight stubborn with stubborn. It works better. Sometimes." Not always. Not for everything.
