FALL TEST DRIVE MEME

FALL TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Fall in Temba and Sh'Ka
There isn't really much out of the ordinary to note, even. The stone leaves that used to be a danger in Sh'Ka are no longer a danger as the leaves of the responsible trees seem more stable now. Perhaps it's because of the work He Rows did with the Barrys to stabilize the groves. So, luckily enough, both cities get to enjoy a fairly normal fall season.
With the exception of the small, unusually frequent energy storms that happen sporadically in both cities. They never last longer than a few minutes, never cover more than the area of a small building and their effect is hardly as drastic as that of their larger counterpart. Your powers are still being limited or taken away, but for a change your loved ones aren't trying to lure you down a cliff, fortunately. Though something feels off about them. They barely notice you when you catch a glimpse of them. Instead they are shambling on their way, seeming disoriented and distant at best. Should you get too close, you might even hear them groan...
Explore
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working and power has been restored to be reliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has proven to be home to verious harmful creatures; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Explore the Ships!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

The Exo gestures vaguely, shrugging. "Anyway! Nice to meet you, Madoka. Or you prefer Takatori?"
no subject
Might as well let his curiousity get the better of him.
"OOH! Can I get them to bring my nephew?" He sounds almost too eager about that. He'd love to have Chihiro here, even if this place is run down to the ground and then some.
no subject
"The ones who're asking our help? Super friendly. Very huggy, and with four arms for it. Kinda on the moist side though? I think they don't do well with dry heat. But no, not nearly as handsome as me, I'm a robot and they're like. Fuzzy and pink. Three eyes and these cute little fangs but I have not seen them use them for anything vicious so I'm thinking they're fine."
He blinks, bright blue optics winking in and out. "Your nephew? Heehee, what, bring the aliens? Don't know how open they'd be to visiting other places. They won't even come down here but that's because of the whole storm situation."
no subject
Madoka chuckles.
"Well, I'd just like them to bring him here. Though, I guess staying home would be better for him. I don't know if there are any stable schools in this place, let alone a comfortable mansion. Not that I have the money to purchase a summer home here. Keiichirou will know how to take care of him better there."
It's certainly going to make things more difficult for Madoka though, being here. He's a veritable disaster on his own. Without someone to take care of him, there's a high chance he'll become everyone's problem at some point.
"At least the aliens sound nice enough, though. Want to fill me in on how we're helping them, though?"
He, admittedly, has not touched any of the information orbs around here. He's been too ADHD to care about them. His ooh, shiny is in another castle.
no subject
"Hm. Don't know that they take requests- they barely seem to know how their systems work when it comes to bringing people in, much less going back out. A buddy of mind was trying to get people to start a school here for the handful of kiddies we actually have about, not sure how that's going. Money though? Not a problem, you just find a place someone else hasn't claimed and do what you want with it. But basically everything here is a major fixer-upper."
Not that he's sure anyone would be that eager to move in permanently but Cayde finds Madoka's attitude about the whole thing quite refreshing.
"Which does bring us to the matter of why we're here. Long story short, someone doesn't like the Agrii- our pink alien friends- so they've got these storms happening that's chased them off from the only place most of them know as home. Lethal to the Agrii, inconvenient to us at best. So they've um, 'enlisted' the help of heroes- a.k.a. us, to help figure out the problem and fix other stuff here in the meantime."
no subject
Hopefully, that means it'll be easier to go back home, or bring other people here in the end. He doesn't want to spend the rest of his life not seeing Chihiro again, or Keiichirou, or another actual cat.
"I'll make sure to try my hand at a fixer upper home, then." He won't. He's going to let it stay a disaster and sleep in it. As long as it keeps his head dry. "I don't suppose we have the luxury of fabric shops?"
no subject
Which has been annoying but the Exo's been keeping an eye out for whenever something slips.
"Fixing things up isn't for everyone, and a lot of the places have seen better. But there's also the hotel, and those rooms have at least been fixed up for housing." He grins crookedly. "That aside, there's no shortage of hands if you need the help."
His face plates shift in some semblance of a wince then. "Well...no. We did have a weaver but I don't know what all she's left behind." He snaps his fingers. "But. There is an old department store to scavenge from."
no subject
He deflates a bit.
"Thanks. I'm not really in need of a department store, though."
Give him a moment, he'll be fine.
"I don't think I can pay anyone who would be willing to help..." He already had his nephew who kept the house clean, and he paid in 'room and board' so that his nephew would accept being taken care of. "I don't think any of my money came with me, and there sure doesn't seem to be any ATMs around here."
no subject
"Never know what all you might find is what I'm saying. The clothes is mostly long and with four arms but people have gotten creative. Oh! But there's the replicator, if you're looking for anything specific," Cayde adds in afterthought. "Only works so many times per person but so long as it can fit in the thing and isn't a weapon, you can get it to spit out basically anything!"
He laughs, shaking his head. "Money wouldn't do much good here anyway. Most people will accept payment by way of favors if they think it necessary. They help you get a thing, you can help with laundry or I dunno, make them dessert."
no subject
"So you're saying if I got my hands on some decent stoles of cloth, I could make a decent number more? How many times per person for a copy are we talking?" He supposes he could always dye it if he found a light-colour cloth. That would be easy enough.
"I suppose that's fair enough - one trade for another." If he can make the cloth thing work, he's sure sewing a few high-quality outfits would be sure to get some decent favours in exchange, if he should need them.
no subject
He taps his fingers against his chin. "Iiii believe it is five. Hm. I wonder if cloth might count as something that can be replicated in bulk, in which case, you can exceed the normal amount with one replication alone!" Beat. "I haven't tried it yet myself but maybe I should, I'm running low on instant spicy ramen packs."
