FALL TEST DRIVE MEME

FALL TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Fall in Temba and Sh'Ka
There isn't really much out of the ordinary to note, even. The stone leaves that used to be a danger in Sh'Ka are no longer a danger as the leaves of the responsible trees seem more stable now. Perhaps it's because of the work He Rows did with the Barrys to stabilize the groves. So, luckily enough, both cities get to enjoy a fairly normal fall season.
With the exception of the small, unusually frequent energy storms that happen sporadically in both cities. They never last longer than a few minutes, never cover more than the area of a small building and their effect is hardly as drastic as that of their larger counterpart. Your powers are still being limited or taken away, but for a change your loved ones aren't trying to lure you down a cliff, fortunately. Though something feels off about them. They barely notice you when you catch a glimpse of them. Instead they are shambling on their way, seeming disoriented and distant at best. Should you get too close, you might even hear them groan...
Explore
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working and power has been restored to be reliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has proven to be home to verious harmful creatures; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Explore the Ships!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Sephiroth | Compilation of FFVII
Sorry not sorry. This is a post-Dirge of Cerberus Sephiroth who was enacting a new scheme and it backfired on him, causing him to regain his mind right before he was pulled here.))Fountain
A strange being has appeared at the fountain: apparently a man, but with long, whitish hair defying gravity and glowing, seemingly pupil-less eyes. A large green, blue, and purple wing is on his right shoulder and six purple wings are around his waist, hanging down like a skirt or kilt. His only clothing appears to be a metal loin covering. He looks intimidating, to say the least. Certainly otherworldly. He reaches out, touching the datapoint and absorbing the information, but gives no indication of what he thinks of it other than a slight flick of the upper wing.
A flash of light and he has de-transformed: his hair silver and now hanging down, his eyes green, mostly fully clothed (no shirt, of course), and no wings. He looks similar to the Sephiroth who is already here, but his bangs are extremely long, extending to his chest, his coat does not have the bat-like elements or red hem, and he is breathing heavily, his eyes haunted and horrified. This is not the Sephiroth who is already here. This is the Man in the Black Cape (cape? It’s a coat!), the Nightmare. Right now, however, he looks more like he is experiencing a nightmare instead of being one. Most likely this has nothing to do with the information he just absorbed.
Storms
This Sephiroth is wandering and mostly keeping to himself. He regained his sanity right before the Agrii pulled him here and he is not handling well the full realization of all the horrors and the evils he committed in his madness. For the life of him, he can’t understand why the Agrii chose him, of all people. He is no longer a hero, but the farthest thing from it. He shouldn’t be here.
When he sees a familiar person in the mysterious Storm, he gives chase. “Zack?!” He doesn’t understand what’s going on, but he felt his powers drain out of him and it’s clear this storm is not a good thing. He doesn’t understand why Zack is in it, but he wants to get Zack out of it. He keeps following Zack deeper into the storm. By the time he accepts it’s a trick of the storm, he may have trouble finding the way back out.
Diner
He is off by himself in a corner, looking over all the information on his communication device. By now he has learned that there is already a Sephiroth here, a Sephiroth who never lost his mind and never tried to destroy a planet. He doesn’t want to interfere with anything that Sephiroth is doing, so he doesn’t plan on taking the Security datapoint. Instead, he’s reading and re-reading the information for the other datapoints and trying to decide on something else fitting for him.
Medical?
Would anyone trust him to tend to injuries?
Pilot?
It doesn’t sound like that would end up being used much, judging from how infrequently they go off-world.
Engineering, perhaps?
Honestly, Security is what he's best at, but not only does he not want to clash with the other Sephiroth, he doesn't feel worthy at all to accept such a mantle as that.
Diner
And there, yes. What the not-PHS in his pocket had said to expect somewhere within this ruined city.
"Dreams of the morrow hath the shattered soul. Pride is lost. Wings stripped away, the end is nigh," the man quotes as way of greeting, and of testing the waters.
The other head of silver hair, the one who had seemed like and yet had been unlike, had not known the words. Perhaps this time...
Re: Diner
Does he know what all has happened? Does he know how far Sephiroth has fallen? His words on their last meeting had deeply pierced Sephiroth's heart, but they had been true after all. Perfect monster indeed.
Sephiroth is wary and yet undeniably hopeful to see an old friend. Are they still friends? It hadn't seemed like it before, but ...

"Surely you would always know my face, no matter how it looks," Genesis suggests. "As flawlessly beautiful and regal as it was ever meant to be."

"My soul, corrupted by vengeance hath endured torment, to find the end of the journey in my own salvation nd your eternal slumber," he quotes with ease before he lowers his gloved hands to the table.
Time to let the poetry go, no matter how fitting.
"But yes. I would lay the thanks for that at the feet of Angeal's puppy. Through his actions we tested ourselves before the eyes of the avatar of the goddess, and in her grace she chose to heal me. Made me more. The process drained me, of course."
And so Shinra was able to reacquire him. Though he had slept through all of that, and he had not been forced to be their puppet any longer.
"The wing still resides within me, able to be called upon at need. But otherwise I am genetically stable. Though I fear I cannot offer my thanks to the pup. From what little research I was able to do after my escape from Sector Zero and the ruins of our once great and horrid city, the young man passed not long after. A true shame. But Shinra was ever given toward retaining their secrets."

“I’m glad to see you are well.” Strange to think that there apparently is an actual goddess on Gaia. He had felt the world was godless and that he was going to claim that role for himself.
Then a shadow passes through his eyes. “Yes, Zack is dead.” He hesitates. “How much else do you know?”
About ... everything. If Genesis knows what Sephiroth did, how can he be so seemingly friendly?
no subject
"I have only been back on the surface for a short time. Learning information has not been easy while staying subtle. Though it seems many have already forgotten my name."
Then he gives a nervous look toward his friend.
"They have not forgotten yours."
no subject
He smirks darkly. "I wouldn't think they would forget the Nightmare." And he sighs, tiredly. "You needn't worry; I am myself again as well. I will not try to destroy or take over this planet ... or Gaia, if we ever get home."
no subject
Still, he's glad to hear that this is likely to be a greater reflection of the man he had once aspired to be the match of.
"I am more powerful now than I was before. If you lose yourself, and I promise not to push that this time, then I will do my best to stand to stop you."
no subject
"More powerful?" He is curious. "What are you capable of?" He knows his powers have been greatly reduced here, albeit he can still do some things.
He does honestly wonder if he would have lost his mind had Genesis not pushed things at Nibelheim. But he doesn't want to think too much about it. He imagines it would have happened regardless, really. He had been at the breaking point as it was.

"I am not quite certain," Genesis admits. "But I am to be a Weapon of the planet going into the next age. Her protector should the others fail. And I hear they did."
That blonde boy, the claimed soldier. The one he remembers with Zack. But that's not of import at this moment. He was changed by the planet and he accepts that. He would not be her destroyer, but her knight when the knight that had set himself forth could no longer serve.
"But I can say for certain that my mastery of magic has been further enhanced due to my connection with Her grace."
no subject
This is a shocking declaration, however. "A Weapon? Will you be changed into something ... not human?"
The previous Weapons certainly hadn't been human.
no subject
"Between being a Soldier and my very origin, I was never like others. Except Angeal. Except you."
And even they had not been quite the same as Sephiroth.

He had arrogantly proclaimed himself a god in his insanity. Now, he knows he is not—but he still has all the power, all the knowledge that he had gathered from the Lifestream and Jenova in addition to what the scientists did to him. He can’t access all of it here, but he does have some of it. He wonders what to do with it, really. Can he be of use here?
“I am happy for you,” he continues then. “You have found a worthwhile purpose.”
no subject
"One could more accurately say it is a purpose in waiting. And it keeps me apart from the Lifestream. Never again shall I be close to the friends who I most failed."
He must exist apart from them, after all.
no subject
no subject
"A burden one must live with. Not all of the gifts of her divine majesty are sweet. Some possess the bitterest edge."
no subject
"... It's also possible we may never be allowed to return home," he remarked. He was sure he could find a way if he had his full powers. That was probably exactly why they had been capped. The other Sephiroth could teleport too. He could probably get them all home, but of course that was not to be allowed.
no subject
"That I do not believe," Genesis answered, dismissing Sephiroth's concern with a wave of his hand. "We have a purpose, and we shall achieve it."
no subject
… Had she also caused Sephiroth’s plan to backfire and his sanity to be restored? What if she was why he had ended up here? Maybe she had sent him away altogether and didn’t want him back.
… That would also be fair, he felt.
“Apparently it’s taking some time for anyone to make headway on this purpose,” he remarked. “Some are beginning to wonder if there is any way to actually achieve it.”
no subject
Because he did not want to be considered a country boy when he had grown so metropolitan in joining Shinra.
no subject
He tilts his head a bit. "What if we can't get home unless we help rebuild?" He knows that Radley person worries about that. But perhaps Genesis is in no hurry to get home....
no subject
"Then I will serve as an archivist or a poet, thank you very much," he notes firmly. "I will not perform such work. There must be others better suited to it."
