Welcome to September. It's time for our monthly IC announcements.

✧ SEPTEMBER SETTING CHANGES ✧

Good News Everybody! That whole situation with the troublesome potholes and sink holes and the rough surfaces in the roads of Temba? There's slowly starting to be resolution of that matter. Upon the return of the He Rows from their space adventure it was not uncommon to see Reeve Tuesti and some assistants out on the roads working on repairs. And as of September a lot of progress has been made. The best way to describe it is in relation to the Map of Temba. The major roads (the thickest lines mostly comprised of the central square and the outer square) have been fully repaved and are beautifully smooth and stable. Also finished are the core roads in the Yellow (Central Temba) region. So these areas are easily traversed. Work continues, at a slower pace now, thanks to Reeve being caught up in caring for Richie, but expect updates as the project continues through the fall.

While improvements are taking place here, there is some new damage in other areas. People may find that some of the upper levels of the Temba Amphitheater is actually damaged, with signs of being hit by a powerful lightning bolt. Thankfully the telescope seems intact. But one might wonder as to how this happened. Perhaps it was the recent storms (it was not), or maybe it was something else entirely. Weird.

But what about your little local friends? What are the Plantkins up to? The Barrys of Sh'Ka are very focused in the stone tree groves this year. More on that below in the Forecast. Barrys are far less common in Temba in general, but there are still very small glimpses of them near the ruined shops near the greenhouse. These are harder to get to engage with you. The Temba Funfronds, though, are almost being more reclusive than normal. They are definitely visible around, their attention for He Rows is diminished this month. They also seem to be doing a LOT of harvesting and food collection. Which is odd, as it's not quite the proper time for final harvests yet. What could they be up to? Because those who are familiar with them might recognize this isn't exactly their normal style...

✧ MONTHLY FORECAST ✧

Weather, it makes the world go round. Actually it doesn't. First and foremost we should really address the state of things in Sh'Ka. As He Rows may remember, there has been issues in the past with the falling of Stone Leaves from the Stone Trees of Sh'Ka. This has served as a clear and present danger since the first autumn He Rows could spend in Sh'Ka. Why is this important? Because this year the leaves aren't falling.

All of the hard work that the Funfronds and Barrys did with the help of former He Row Dustin is finally, truly paying off. Not only have the trees been spreading less, but the trees seem to be adapting better to this environment. Through regular application of artificial spore spreading, the leaves of the trees seem far more secure. Sure, some still fall, but it's a lot rarer now. So keep your ears open for the harsh whistling that may warn of a chunk of stone falling from a great height.

Now onto the Weather and boy is it a doozy. Well, on a lot of days it's just a normal sort of fall. The heat is giving way to cooler temperatures, and the leaves in the trees are turning beautifully. Plants outside of the Greenhouses are moving toward harvestable states. The world is beautiful and the skies are clear. Except when they aren't.

What was that about the skies? Oh, right. Throughout September He Rows will find themselves hit by small, unusually frequent scattered energy storms much like the ones they encountered back in June. These storms are even more brief than they were before, and continue to hit small areas. They never last more than a few minutes or cover more than the area of a small building. What's more, the effects aren't nearly so drastic as their larger, more showy counterparts. While powers, electricity, and technology still shut down in them, it's a lot easier to just walk out of the storms at this point. In fact, you're not even all that likely to have the ghostly figures of your loved ones trying to lure you into danger.

That isn't to say there is no figures to be seen in the flash storms. There is still something seriously off about them. They barely notice you when you catch a glimpse of them. Instead they are shambling on their way, seeming disoriented. Should you approach you might even hear them groan. But before you can close the distance they will either fade away or the storm will finish passing over you. So maybe you were only seeing things... Either way, maybe it's just better to try and avoid any oncoming weather when you can.
