Fall Test Drive Meme!

TEST DRIVE
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application

Welcome to the Fall Test Drive for The Revival Project!

For those who do not know, this game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about what this game is about, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.

Starting on the 7th, the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.

If you are a Drift Fleet alumni, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level so we know. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! The only option not allowed is to completely restart your character (because then it's not DFAU, is it?)

So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!

Please use either the first event or the previous TDM for prompt ideas!

"What?" He gives the guy an incredulous look. "Seriously? Why?"

Why ruin perfectly good beer like that? Also, who randomly doses people with a truth serum, if such a thing actually exists? This place just went from quaint to creepy in about five seconds.

Tommy shrugs. Like he has explanations of things like that. He's not the smart type. He's the athlete.

"Sorry, it's going to be weird."

Bones shrugs back. It honestly may not even be that weird. The doctor has a tendency to be blunt even when not under the influence of some sort of truth serum. It may not be much different.

"You been on this planet long?" he asks.

"I mean, how long is long?" Tommy counters. "Less than a month? It's hard to tell, there seems to be something weird up with how long the day is. It's messing with my internal clock."

Which is pretty easy to do for Tommy. He's sort of lost most sense of time without something to tell him how much has passed. Mostly because his temporal frame of reference is strange compared to that of most people. It feels like years.

"Less than a month isn't that long," Bones replies. "Days could be longer. It depends on how big this planet is and how quickly it rotates. Are you from Earth and have you ever left it before?"

He's already been here long enough to know that strange shit is happening. Not everyone here is from 2263, nor is everyone from a place where space travel is prevalent. It seems he's gone through some kind of time portal to get here as well.

You cool with Fourth-Walling? Because Tommy's only nerd thing is Star Trek, and that vicariously

"Vision could probably tell you exactly how long. But it's more than two days," Tommy offers with a shrug. "Maybe like two and a half Earth days? But I can't pin it down too close, it's a headache."

His internal clock is geared toward nano-seconds and smaller, not hours and days and months. Still, he smirks at the question. Oh yeah, Earth.

"Springfield, New Jersey, actually. And the year 2014. But I feel like my 2014 is REALLY different from some other people's. Billy talked about traveling the multi-verse, how there are lots of different Earths. Oh, I'm Tommy. What about you?"
thatsjusttypical: (look up)

Yeah that's fine

[personal profile] thatsjusttypical 2019-09-14 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Leonard McCoy," he replies. "I'm from 2263. Born on Earth, but I live and work in space for long stretches of time. Honestly, it's not great sometimes. I get motion sickness."

Bones makes a face. Maybe the kid is right about this being a truth serum. He'd never normally reveal something like that to a complete stranger.

Okay, see what he meant? Truth serum. Still, that all sounds strangely familiar. Can’t quite pin it down yet. Don’t worry, he’ll figure it out.

“Youch man. Hope whatever space station or ship or whatever you work on is sorta still or not bad for that. What do you do in space?”

"It's the take off and landing that are the worst. Once we're cruising, you can't really feel it." Thankfully so, or he wouldn't be able to do the work he does, which he actually enjoys. "I'm part of Starfleet. I'm the Chief Medical Officer on the Starship Enterprise."

A lot of people would say the exact same thing about Tommy's speeds when he carries them. Not that he cares. What he cares about is the names. His eyes go huge.

Because... Wow.

"Dammit Jim, you're a doctor, not a insert-witty-line-here," Tommy says, because what, it's the first thing in his head. Holy fuck. "You're Bones."
