WINTER TEST DRIVE MEME

WINTER TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!

Winter in Temba and Sh'Ka
Lots of snow.
MORE snow.
Indeed. It's snowing. A lot. From one day to the next both Temba and Sh'Ka are covered in snow and especially in Temba these masses of snow may even collapse some of the more damaged buildings, so be careful where you seek shelter.
But the Agrii are trying to help and we all know nothing ever gets weird or wrong when the Agrii decide to help their He-Rows. Two small, vividly colored snowblower drones are doing their best to clear paths along the most used streets of Temba. It looks like one of the Agrii has used their years of observing frustrated He-Rows shovel and magically melt snow wisely. Unfortunately these little drones, despite being equipped with large googly eyes, don't really see what they are doing and while clearing out one street may end up blocking five others as well as the doors to buildings.
Thankfully this year the roads are in far better condition than they were in past years, meaning the drones have wonderfully smooth surfaces to work over for the first time since He Rows set foot in Temba. This means there are no hidden pitfalls. Of course it also means that sometimes patches of black ice are left on the unsalted paths. Oops. But on the other hand having ice here means the much diminished flood plain is already frozen over for all your winter sport needs! The drones even seem to gingerly clean off parts of that. Seems they are learning what is valued. Though maybe it's better to stay inside where it's warm and safe.
Sh'Ka, on the other hand, is nowhere near as cleared off or out as Temba is. Lacking the street cleaning drones and the repaving efforts, Sh'Ka proves to still be dangerous to get around in the winter months. Thankfully the plantlife there seems healthier than ever, meaning none of the giant stone trees are likely to collapse or dump heaps of snow onto unsuspecting heads. However the storms seem to have done something strange this year. The quarry seems partially flooded and that, for reasons surpassing understanding, has failed to freeze over. In fact, the water feels almost pleasantly warm. It's no proper hotspring, but hte area might still be nice for a bit of warm escape from the chill of winter. For those more desirous of a wilder winter wonderland, Sh'Ka might be the right place for you to explore. Though be careful with the waters. Some of the local fauna has also taken note of the warmth near the quarry and might want to share the space. And they're not always friendly.

Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working and power has been restored to be reliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to stride over the currently partially frozen flooded area that has proven to be home to various harmful creatures who might jump out of the ice; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over to The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Explore the Ships!
There be storms...
The weakened remnants of these power-altering storms blow over parts of the planet every once in a while. And sadly one of these last gusts of misery seems to be approaching. You can tell from the darkened sky and the flickering of electronics. You have the option to find shelter in one of the buildings to wait for it to pass. Unless, of course, you are caught unaware.
Should you wind up inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and shuts down all technology and magic in its area. Are you going to seek the relative peace of the indoors? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance. One thing is for sure, this micro storm won't last long, no more than an hour at most, but it will be an experience like few others for the time that it is there.

Galinda Upland | Wicked
OzTemba"Well this simply won't do." Galinda frowned carefully, looking for whoever was responsible for this mix-up. Spying a figure, she lifted a hand to try and catch their attention, running delicately after them as she tried not to look too disgruntled, heels clacking.
"Excuse me- excuse me- hello~?! Yes. I believe there's been some kind of mistake. When will the rest of my belonging arrive?" she inquired a charming smile as she blinked expectantly.
Re: Galinda Upland | Wicked
"Unfortunately, Miss, you're not likely to see many of your belongings for a while," he replied. "The Agrii apparently believe in everyone traveling light."

"Ah, no- you see- I simply can't be expected to help anyone with my-" She cut herself off with a frown, uncertain where exactly to direct this frustration. "How can I be expected to get anything done with just this one outfit, hmm?" She gestured at her dress with her training wand. Exquisite, obviously, but that was all they'd provided her with apart from that wand she couldn't get to work. She was hardly going to make a good impression repeating outfits right from the start, now was she?

"I'm afraid the Agrii wouldn't understand that need," he said. "There is a clothing store here, but its selection is meager at best. There is also a machine called a Replicator that might be able to make the kinds of clothes you prefer. However, each of us here may only request five items a month from it." So think carefully as to whether more clothes are really what you should ask.

There was a covert glance at her wand before Galinda nodded very quickly. "Well of course, so could I," she proclaimed. Such a shame she wouldn't be able to demonstrate.

He nodded. "May I ask what world you're from?" He wondered if he had been there.
no subject
"Why, Oz of course. And yourself?"
no subject
"I am from Radiant Garden. I haven't heard of Oz."
There might be an Oz world in the Disney-based universe he's from, but he isn't aware of it.

"Sounds a bit like Munchkinland," she noted. Not in name obviously, but she knew that Munchkinland was well known for it's flower production.

"You're asking the tough questions, babydoll," she answered. "The kind that the universe just doesn't have any answers for. There's not a lot of those. Be surprised if you could come up with another one." She tilted her head, an invitation, focus skipping across the strangely quiet square, no one else around to disturb the sprouts between the stones sleeping under the snow despite the city built around them. "Have to ask some other universe. Got to be one around here."
no subject
"Mm, well I have another particularly demanderating one now that you mention it. May I have your name?"

A pout tugged at her lips, though fell away again once the stranger closed her eyes. No need to keep up the performance if no one was watching after all. "...Are you someone dangerous?" she posed carefully, glancing at that knife again.

"Easy to tell you are new, Miss. Good news, your belongings have already arrived. Bad news, it's only what you're carrying on you. It's just how it works. If you're lucky you can ask for things and they'll get delivered, but they won't ever be what you wanted specifically. Maybe we'll end up at another space station and you can find a way to get more things. But given how often we end up rushing around with little time to gather supplies, packing light is advisable."
Says the woman with a lot of clothes. She knows she's a hypocrite here, but she doesn't expect to haul them all around.

She looked at the training wand she'd been left with, and this one single dress, and shook her head hurriedly. "Well that won't do at all. I'll need to have things delivered straight away."
She waved off that bit about them not being what she wanted, certain she knows how to sweet talk well enough by now to get her way. "I don't do light."
no subject
"Be that as it may, you may well have to learn. We're not exactly flush with malls here or anything like that."
no subject
"What's a mall?" She asked, head tilting at the unfamiliar word.
no subject
"A place to do a lot of shopping all in one location. Or nearby series of locations."
Trapped in Temba
Which of course leads to his chilly walk around town, dressed in thick layers to keep the cold at bay. Honestly, it's a lucky thing that he hears the calls for help at all. But sound carries further on a cold winter day, and he can follow it back to its source easy enough.
From there it's a matter of a few carefully directed fire spells to melt the large mound of ice the plow-droids had loaded the door up with.
"That should be good," he calls through the door when the flames die down. "Be careful coming out. The path will be slick with slush."
In fact, it was already starting to freeze a little.
Trapped
"Snow has fallen off the roof in front of the door," a deep voice tells him. "I can melt it for you, if there isn't another way out."
