[Event] New Tick Part Two

Of Stowaways And Strife

Well, looks like this year is rolling in for the Agrii and He Rows alike with a bang! As is seen in the special event part two Mingle Post, a lot happens starting on the 15th. The Wanderer has joined the party, upsetting the Agrii who don’t understand it. Violence has truly broken out on the ship, and the He Rows may be the only ones able to restore order.

The question is, have you the will, the skill, and perhaps even the knowledge to restore something resembling peace? Because there’s no way you can just leave the Agrii ship without getting things a bit more stable here. Why? Because the Ship’s AI has put a control lock down on the Glitter Food and the Peanut Party. No returning to atmosphere for you until some sort of peace has been reached.

So it’s up to the He Rows to step in, deal with emergencies as they crop up, and restore order. Or, you know, make it worse. We don’t doubt that some He Rows are more than capable of turning things in that direction if it really moves them to do so. And with just how many directions things are being pulled in, who knows what people can get away with right now.

What is clear is that the factions are alive and well, there is violence breaking out, someone’s releasing the perpetrators (because do we even know of Agrii who could override ship commands), and on top of it all, the Wanderer is walking merrily through it all of it taking notes. It’s learning so much about Speaking Animals right now.

But that’s the situation as it stands. Time for the He Rows to act. Well, it seems like reacting might be the first order of business, but they’ve clearly got to act as well if they ever want of this ship.

FAQ

What are the dates for this event?
The event starts January 15th with the arrival of The Wanderer. It escalates on January 16th with an attack in the Gathering Place. It spreads starting on January 17th and will cover most of the ship. He Rows will be on the ship for the rest of January at least.

I saw a mingle post. Do I have to use this area to participate?
This post is the main area for the initial Wanderer Arrival and The Gathering Place Attack. To partake in these particular instances, you will have to join into the appropriate threads. Rules for those are in the next question/answer and will be duplicated in the TLs to their threads. Other than that you can either use the event post to post a Top Level, you can put it in your separate open or closed post, or append your actions to previously written posts. There is a separate comment on this page to invite NPC involvement to any thread you need.

He Rows are not obligated to try and break up the violence. They can just go on doing their own stuff, on their own ships or on the Agrii ship. Those that are inclined to are not obligated to do it in any one place.

How do I partake in the Wanderer Arrival or the Gathering Place Attack?
These will be first come first served so to speak. But we will hold you to only acting in one to allow for the most possibility of player involvement. These will be multiplayer threads. The players involved will be Mod Churby piloting any/all NPCs in one tag, followed by players in order that they joined the thread. A maximum of three non-NPC players can join into each of the two threads (that means up to six players with one character each). Mod Churby will do her best, once reaching that level, to break the threads into two separate threads with one or two players in them. There will be comments down below for players to just tag in to say they joined or will join a thread until we reach full, and to help decide how it will get divided up. If all members of a full group end up sharing outside social media (discord or plurk) they are at that point free to move discussions there if they wish, provided Mod Churby can still reach it to help with logistics.

The goal with the Arrival would be dividing between players dealing with the Wanderer and AI in one thread, and players dealing with Agrii (both general NPCs and eventually arriving faction leaders) in the other. The goal with the Gathering Place Attack will be dividing up players into those tending to and moving the wounded Agrii, and players controlling the violent Agrii.

I missed out on being in one of those two groups but I still want to be more involved than just handling random Agrii NPCs
Well, there is the solving of the problem, which will likely involve discussions with major NPCs as well as with other He Rows. We encourage players to do their own gathering or discussion on the Network, possible review of recent Agrii behavior with the Ship AI, and interviewing the Faction Leaders. Feel free to request such things in the NPC Needed thread below. If you have still other angles you want to approach this from (including if you just want t be a chaotic gremlin who may be helping to release the Orange Faction Agrii), please reach out.

The nature of this event means that it must unfortunately have a very specific canon timeline, and so we’re limited on how many players can be the first force reaction team. That’s why we’re asking our players to not join both threads. We also ask that players consider their own availability and how good they are at juggling multiplayer threads. If you anticipate not being available as much for the rest of this month (and don’t worry, we don’t punish people when emergencies come up, we will just find a graceful way to move around you), maybe don’t join these two major threads. If multiplayer threads are confusing to you or uncomfortable, they may not be the best fit. The Agrii ship is large, there are plenty of reasons your character may not be on hand or the fastest to the scenes involved. Don’t be afraid to take a step back.

What if I do join these threads and something comes up?
Please let us know ASAP so we can find a way around character involvement to keep things going. We won’t be upset with you. Life happens. It happens a lot. It should always come first.

Is there anything else we should know?
Just that you should remember that certain information is available to all He Rows who were around in November and there may be ways in which this could be useful.

This was a really short FAQ. What if I need to know more?
For that, dear players, ask away below.
