From The Mods - A Request For Patience And Help
Hello all!
First and foremost, as ever, the mod team just wants to extend its thank you to everyone who is part of our community. You are what makes The Revival Project the source of fun and adventure we enjoy creating for you.
That said sometimes things get tough, and the level of work any of us can invest can get a bit constrained. This is just as true for your mod team. Over the years we have worked hard to support each other behind the scenes to make sure that the game can flow as smoothly as possible for our players. However due to a variety of circumstances a lot of things have gotten hard for the mod team. For their privacy we will not be getting into those troubles here, but know they still want to provide you with the best experience possible.
To manage this we believe the time has come to ask for some help, and so we turn to our community. Therefore we are asking if a player or two might be willing to assist the mods in a few back-end duties. These would include:
The first three tasks would be relatively cursory and is deadline light, allowing for some flexibility. We encourage as much AC processing as possible before the end of the month so players can possibly sneak in a few last tags if a discrepancy/mistake is noticed, and the reminder post does have to go up on the fifth of each month.
The biggest task is the proofreading and feedback. An assistant would be given a document that works on the event, possibly through multiple stages and revisions, and possibly more than once a month. To our experience editing can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour or more depending on how dense the event is.
This task also comes with a request that the assistant let us know what their first thoughts are on questions to ask for the FAQ. The mods tend to know what our intentions are with an event and we don't always anticipate the creativity of our players or how they might chew on metaphorical scenery. All the help we can get in that area is very heavily appreciated.
The event work is, unfortunately, the most timeline critical of all tasks. Getting events up at a reliable time helps ensure the events are accessible. In fact, additional help in this area may even help mods get events running earlier in the month, though it is no promise.
If this sounds like something you may have time for or enjoy, please let us know below. All comments are screened so feel free to let us know if there are specific areas you feel capable of helping with. While we would prefer someone who could hit all the marks, we'd be just as content with a proofreader (or two) and then someone to help monitor Activity Checks and other organization tasks.
Please note that we understand that this work would add more to a player's plate. The mod team would be willing to extend some AC requirements reduction to any player(s) willing to provide assistance who is selected. In addition, the assistant(s) would not have their identity publicly shared so that they do not need to worry about having to field any player questions or concerns.
We'll definitely be having another conversation entirely about Activity Checks in the near future, and how players who aren't volunteering as mod assists can also help us build a better TRP as we continue into the future of space exploration. Keep your eyes open for that.
For now, thank you for reading this and let us know if you would be willing to help.

-Assistance with monitoring and reviewing AC (need to be able to navigate shared Google Sheets)
-Creating and posting AC Reminder to OOC Community
-Help watching questions sections of event posts or announcements to make sure the mods don't accidentally leave someone hanging with a question
-Willingness to proofread and provide feedback/edits on event and announcement posts (Google Docs commentor and/or editor mode familiarity required)
