Fall 2025 TDM!

FALL TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore

Arrival in
The Green Under The Dome
Follow along under the trees and you will find some paths worn between them. The view is almost picturesque enough to make one forget of the stars racing by above. Continue further and further into the, for lack of a better word, forest and at last it will start to give away to scrub grasses and irregular clumps of vegetation. Oh, and the purple sand that slopes down like a gentle beach into a lot of crystal clear water. That's a beach, right? But why is there a glass wall on the far side of the water? Why can you see the end of the water? And who set up the bonfire area nearby, complete with wood ready to burn?
Explore the Ships!
Then there are the harder to access areas. For instance one has to knock on doors on the second floors of buildings and hope for an answer rather than finding them just opening at a whim. This makes sense the first time someone does answer, because clearly visible past them will be a private room. A living space more specifically. Hopefully your fellow He Row wasn't too bothered by your arrival, otherwise you might have started off on an awkward foot.
Perhaps it's just better to double back through the main area and find other places to explore, like the training center or the hangar. Alas, you're too new to have access to Security or the Cockpit without somoen with access buzzing you in. Though maybe...

Workshops?
[That snagged his interest, though so did the mention of a bar.]
A bar, huh. What kind of alcohol do y'all have out here?
[He was definitely into that, yeah.]
no subject
I’m not positive. I believe there’s a type of wine, for one. I assume there are harder drinks as well.
no subject
Though, in terms of alcohol, he might not have exactly been a wine sort of guy, but that was a start.]
I'll check it out sometime. I'm sure there's a variety; people need ways to unwind some.
[He wasn't going to pelt this man with further questions about the kinds of alcohol when he was more than capable of heading over to the bar at some point and finding out himself. And he could taste the drinks as he went if he did that.]
Especially in between any chaos.
no subject
We find ways to do that which suit us best.
[For himself, that was usually flying. Or taking solitude and thinking on the past and the people he missed.]
no subject
[He had the impression that visiting the bar wasn't one of the other man's methods for unwinding, so.]
How about you? You don't seem keen on alcohol, so what's your preferred way to relax?
no subject
[Deadpanning.]
no subject
Mm. I can see how that would be difficult, yeah. Flying sounds like it'd be nice, though. Peaceful.
[A bit like why he enjoyed taking drives down quiet country roads some nights.]
no subject
[He patrols that way, but it’s also just very relaxing. Like a quiet drive, yes.]
no subject
[Being up in the sky, away from all the people and all the shit there was to deal with every day...it sounded nice, alright.]
I live in the middle of nowhere, back home, so there's lots of empty roads to drive when I need to clear my head. Not the same, but it sure is nice just being under the stars.
[No other light than his headlights, no one else around, nothing else to deal with.]
no subject
My home has blue plateaus and canyons. I go there a lot to think. Sometimes I fly there. It’s a mysterious place, but quiet. Peaceful.
no subject
[He never thought of 'mysterious' as anything bad right away, especially when it came to locations.]
And canyons, too. Thought about visiting one of the famous ones back home, but.
[He shrugged. Trips were expensive, and he had a lot to do almost all the time.]
Sounds like we both tend to have a lot on our minds.
[And he had a feeling that wasn't going to change here.]
no subject
Canyons seem to be popular attractions. Perhaps when my world has finished being rebuilt, there will be tourists coming to see the blue canyons there.
[He looks thoughtful right then too.]
I definitely do.
no subject
[He didn't think he could handle dealing with tourists a bunch, himself, and he was glad he didn't have to. Locals were frustrating enough at times.]
Don't think we'll have any less going on here, so I hope there's at least a few quiet places.
[Seeing as how he couldn't fly, and driving seemed to be out of the question, too.]
no subject
[Sephiroth wouldn't like them intruding on his favorite thinking spots, for sure.]
Things here are often quite quiet during downtime such as this. Enjoy it while you can.
no subject
[Too many quiet moments got boring, sometimes, but quiet was better than chaos. Well, the bad kind of chaos, at least.]
no subject
I'm sure when we reach our destination, the quiet will cease.
no subject
[A pause, a moment while he considered things.]
What's our destination?
no subject
no subject
[Trip didn't quite feel like the right word for it, but it didn't feel wrong, either. He was curious about what the planet would be like and what sort of information they might be looking for, but processing things one step at a time seemed like a good idea right now.]
Do y'all usually get limited information when things are going on?
no subject
no subject
[And so far, with how limited his knowledge was, he couldn't say it was malicious. It reminded him of when people tried to juggle too much, and inevitably, something got dropped. Maybe they were just trying their best. Or maybe they weren't. He couldn't say.]
More information benefits all of us, though.
[So he agreed with that hopefully.]
no subject
[He didn’t think it was malicious either. Just well-meaning beings who weren’t quite sure how to go about things properly.
A nod.]
I’m used to knowing more before I agree to anything.
no subject
[Though it wasn't unheard of for him to lend a hand without having a lot of information first.]
Sounds like we don't have too much of a choice, here.
[About how much information they got, that was.]
no subject
[A dark smirk.]
So we might as well just relax and enjoy the ride for now.
no subject
[Not that he planned on stressing, but there was a lot to see and a lot of information to try and grapple with. He figured it'd be a good idea to be prepared for things, to the best of his ability, when they happened.]
