shenanigans that have gotten out of hand

For starters, apologies if I can't really get all my thoughts in order, anyone who was in the dumb plotting chat feel free to add and clarify.

I have had a kernel of an idea that has created some branching paths, so this is now the planning post.

At this things core, Cayde and Tony are trying to make a speeder/sparrow.
My INTENTION with this was to create a situation that cause tension between this pair and someone they disrupted by being foolish, so if you can bring some of that flavour in, I would appreciate it.

Some known details as of this writing:
1. Poe has, in some manner, prompted this construction project, probably just by telling Tony that they are fun and he likes speeders.
2. Tommy is aware of the development and likely helped out in some stages along the way, at some point it became obvious that he HAS to race the speeder as soon as it is done. He is prepping for this race.
3. I'm not sure who exactly is doing the racing now--it might be Cayde, it might be Poe testing the merchandise? Tony might also join in the Iron Man.
4. Either way, risky business of COURSE leads to crashing the thing in a ridiculous explosion. The crash will likely take place in or around the ship hangar, ruining the day for anyone who's living in there.
5. This was supposed to result in BB-8 getting damaged in some way, so Poe was angry.
6. Reeve is big mad about it, because everyone is being reckless and also he's the one that has to fix everything.
7. Cobb and Mando do know how to at least maintain actual speeders, though, so this could lead to developing less explodey ones.

I don't have a timeline as of yet, that might depend on what anyone says in here, so let me know if you want to work something in to this! If I don't hear back quickly, the chaos might go up over the weekend.

Again, I really only had this thought because I wanted to create the dumb fallout, so if you have any thoughts about that in particular......do tell.

Beck has caused a problem. This doesn't effect the actual events much, but if Beck could suggest what he may have done or reacted, someone might be able to sniff him out, for good or ill.

Also, Jon might have been persuaded to provide the mysterious alien fuel source to create a very spectacular explosion. Any suggestions for Willy Wonka type reactions are welcome. Anyone who is going to be in the area at the time, do you want some lingering problems?

Cobb's actual skills as a speeder builder are honestly a mystery but he definitely knows how to maintain one because he has one. It's basically a podracer engine with a seat. It's amazing.

After the chaos and a little time to calm down because he won't be super happy about it, he'll offer help because clearly these people need it. Otherwise, they're going to kill themselves and others.

He will also decide to go find himself a house and start fixing it up... not sure how difficult that'll be. I'm sure there's a house open but the fixing will take awhile.

No houses, but Reeve is an engineer and architect, and there is a chance if Cobb mentions this around some people, they could point him to Reeve for assistance.

So, I was thinking of this part of the city in the Southwest: "21. Residences - Subdivision
Surprisingly well-preserved! These residences are among the largest and most intact in the whole city. Nothing works, but you will have a roof over your head and shelter from the elements. The walls of these homes are fairly thick. Furnishings and materials are in good supply here."

Which I figured might be fixed up to work with power since the power is on in the city again? Or is there another place where homes can be found? Or is it just apartments and condos that need work?

Power is definitely on in most of the city again. THere may be some areas where it needs minor tweaks.

A lot of people have been setting themselves up in old stores or other places near a 'hub'. Like Reeve lives in the office he's created, Tony lives at his forge, and Tommy/Billy/Teddy converted a store for their use.

Cobb would take advice on where to settle. He wouldn't want to be too far away from other people because that's dangerous.

My idea was that once the chaos is over Cobb will post something asking about fixing up a house so they could start talking about things that way.

Cobb can settle where he wants, but if he needs home improvement help, Reeve's where to start. He'd JUMP at the chance.

Cobb will take the help. He's sort of a jack of all trades and master of none so he knows just enough to know he can use help.

Tony will gladly take the help if everyone still wants these things after the accident, he's obviously making it up as he goes.

I think that residences you mentioned up there, Sansa and Tyrion used to live in that area before and their house had a big pen with glownies in it. If that is something that is intriguing to you.

I think that's why Cobb would offer? Clearly, these people are struggling and damn it he can help so here he goes to help.

It might be if Cobb decides to take the Agriculture expertise. He'll probably weigh the 'usefulness versus isolation' factor with just about everything. Because unlike some people, he's careful.

Maybe they can set up a little speeder workshop/garage! Probably near the hangar? So no one really owns one, but they know where to go to get one.

I think the closest neighbours there are Tony and Catra down in the southeast corner, most everyone else is clustered around the centre of town. Except for Cal, who is up in the northwest? I could be wrong and not remember where someone lives, though. So, yes, that's pretty much not where ANYone else is. But maybe a lot of the people living in the hangar would go down there, too, because its clearly a nice homey place.

Sometimes all it takes is one person moving somewhere to start a trend. Cobb wouldn't mind making a little community. It's what he does best, lol.

Obi-Wan knows enough about speeders to be able to maintain them himself but I doubt he would be all that interested as this seems like a venture likely to get someone killed as proven by the crash lol.

Poe and BB will be drawn out to the crash and when it's all over and done, and they think they are safe, wham, a final pole falls over and smacks the droid.

Poe is offended he wasn't given first ride, and demands a fleet of speeders be made to race with. Also he's gotta fix poor BB :(

You'll have to work it out with Cayde, that might be the storyline that works better, but if Poe DID get this ride and be in the crash, that would mean he gets hurt enough to not be the one fixing BB, so Reeve can do his thing

Also, I missed the discord chat, but Keith did keep his own hoverbike/speeder thing up and running on a budget, so he knows a bit about regular maintenance. He could probably troubleshoot a problem or two if you want help.

Don't know how much damage! I was going to leave that to the people who lived there or whatever. I wouldn't want to entirely disrupt them, unless you're into being disrupted. That's probably something to discuss with Cobb/Din/Obi/Poe.....why do all of these star wars men live here?

Oh, that's handy! Especially if the crew goes on to make/maintain a few for the community, someone who actually worked on something like this is valuable.

Yup. He has one in the first episode (that incidentally got left behind and never seen in canon again until flashbacks later)... it basically looks like a giant motorcycle with no wheels, an airplane tail, and two small turbines on outriggers to keep it aloft.

I'm pretty cool with rolling around with the punches on stuff, and Keith's not actually living in the hangar... he just spends time there because that's where he feels most comfortable.

Now, this is just building damage? Or is there going to be some damage to the ships, too?

I think we had decided it wouldn't hurt the ships, so i assume it's mostly damage to the hangar itself, maybe some superficial bumps to some ships. Probably more chaotic drama than big time damage apart from Cayde and BB-8.

Makes sense! Either way... Keith is annoyed. Though, whether he's annoyed that there's damage to the hangar, or annoyed that no one included him in the test flight... we may never know~~~ LOL ;)
