SPRING TEST DRIVE MEME

SPRING TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Temba Spring Time!
But the plants aren't the only ones waking up with the warmer temperatures. Temba's wildlife is no exception. Most of the smaller critters can be seen more commonly around the city and should your steps take your near the old library building, you may even encounter half a dozen or more young mothkittens learning to fly, warming their wings up in the sun or napping at the side of the building. Just beware that these little fiends love everything that glitters and will try to claim it for themselves.
Explore the city!
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Visit the spaceships!
Maybe look around anyway. Or try your hand at some repairs?
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Another one, eh? Seems there's more people than not who haven't traveled beyond their homeworld. The last one we went to was the most interesting- at least in my opinion. Busy place, like the whole world was just one city that they built up layer by layer. Kind of a whiplash going from all that back to a place like this.
[He shrugs.]
The other places we've been to vary along the scale in comparison. Let's say Coruscant is one extreme, then Agra Ten- that's here, would be around...towards the opposite end. Then there's where the Graq live- up in giant trees and they spit on stuff to make weapons and about as rustic as you can imagine, that'd be the other bookend.

[Midgar was just one city, he couldn't imagine it covering the entire planet. His father would have loved it- Midgar was his pride and joy but it made him inwardly shudder. He didn't miss his father's city, it deserved to be left in ruins.
But this was a new world and this person didn't seem to recognize him. There was no indication Shinra had any influence here and he was going to take advantage of that.]
They actually spit on things? Magic spit and giant trees- I'm fortunate I missed that one. I've never been fond of nature. Or spit, for that matter.
no subject
[Cayde laughs.]
Yeah, rocks mostly. They'd weld them to things to make some crude weapons. That stuff melts anything inorganic. And apparently makes people hallucinate if they're exposed to it. So yeah, the Agrii did you a favor missing that one. If you're not too crazy about nature then um, don't go too far out of the city limits here without company.
no subject
[But he places any thoughts of Midgar from his mind- that was the past and he needed to focus on the here and now.]
What is outside the city?
[He normally was confident in his ability to at least survive danger but he was also aware that here he was unarmed without the back up of his Turks.]
no subject
[The Exo shakes his head.]
Out there? Trees and more trees. Unless you head in a different direction, then you'll hit an ocean. Otherwise? It is a whole lot of wilderness.
no subject
[Rufus downs the rest of his drink but decides not to pour himself another. The last thing he needs to do is get drunk, not when his head is already feeling fuzzy.]
Forgive me, I didn't catch your name.
no subject
[The Exo smiles, holding out a gloved hand.]
Name's Cayde. This here's my bar, but anyone's free to pour themselves a drink and hang out whenever suits them. It's what it's here for.
no subject
[He doesn't hesitate to take Cayde's hand, Dark Nation only passively looking between them before laying down once more.]
That's generous of you. Where does all this come from? The city doesn't seem to have a lot of resources.
no subject
[Cayde nods, then grins as he gestures behind him.]
The only thing that's local is the red stuff. I wouldn't advise drinking that unless you've got a super-high tolerance because this stuff's so potent people get drunk on the raw berries.
Most everything else, 'cept any experiments in distillery, is brought in from what few extra-planetary trips we've had. Personally selected, I might add. Sometimes the Agrii are nice enough to foot the bill.
no subject
[A terrible attempt at a joke from some who is only 27. Rufus does seem worn though, frayed at the edges but he just chuckles at his own terrible joke.]
You have good taste. The whiskey fairly decent I admit. What kind of things are made at the distillery.
no subject
[The Exo seems to smirk somehow. He gives him a nod, though he's hardly the one to be poking fun at ages when he's got centuries behind him.]
Why thank you. No point in stocking up on something no one's going to want to drink. I'll admit, there's a few bottles around here that might be more questionable but those were from places I didn't have much choice and figured to give 'em a shot for lack of selection here.
As for the distillery, well, it's really just a still, and um... haven't found anything from the greenhouse that's really worked yet. You do not want to try the stuff I got out of cyananas.
no subject
[Rufus slowly and carefully gets up from the barstool, catching himself for a moment. But the moment passes he glances at Cayde, resting a hand on Dark Nation's head lightly.]
You wouldn't happen to have water on hand? I think she could use something.
no subject
Oh yeah- 'course I do. She like jerky too?
[He hops to his feet, stepping around to duck behind the counter for a bowl among other things, setting it on the counter top so he can pour some water from the jug he's also brought out. The Exo comes around to them again, bowl in hand, which he sets down on the floor. He holds out a package of bantha jerky to Rufus.]
no subject
Rufus gratefully takes the jerky, unwrapping it carefully so he can feed her a piece. He doesn't flinch as large fangs snap the meat from his fingers, smiling.]
That's generous of you, thank you. Dark Nation will eat almost anything I give her, she's a bit spoiled that way.
no subject
[Cayde grins as he watches Dark Nation enthusiastically take the jerky. The name's still a strange one to him, but eh. To each his own?]
no subject
[There is a hint of something almost affectionate in his voice for a fleeting moment as he rubs behind Dark Nation's ears after giving her another scratch behind her ears. They had been inseparable since he was a child and the years without her had been difficult.]
no subject
You two find a place to stay yet or you still feeling your way around here?
no subject
[He's not expecting anything fancy, just somewhere Dark Nation doesn't have to bunch up to fit. And anything has to be a step up from being imprisoned in a cave for months.]
no subject
There's the hotel. It's right off the town square. Most of the rooms are already set up for people to stay in. I think they're mainly used as temporary places to stay until a person finds somewhere better. Outside of that, there's plenty of buildings around. If they're not being used, free to claim.
no subject
[He would have to find somewhere more permanent, somewhere that he wouldn't be able to be found easily. Without his Turks, he would have to depend on himself for protection using his own skills.]
How many people are here?
no subject
[He thinks on the question, running through a mental list.]
About...maybe thirty, give or take? We aren't a big group. Number fluctuates.
no subject
[Rufus's mind is already turning over potential projects since he has no intention of being ideal. Even with his current health, he wasn't going to sit around idly.]
