Planning a Howl
This is just the OOC heads-up to what'll be an IC gathering. See, Moonshade's determined that if these are going to be her people now, for the moment, then she needs to know them better, and there's no better way to do that than what her tribe calls a Howl.
What is a Howl, you ask? Great question.
A howl is a gathering of the whole tribe, to share their history, celebrate recent triumphs and mourn their lost. The Wolfriders don't have a written language; what they have is stories that date back thousands of years, tracing the history of their tribe since the arrival of elves on the planet of Abode.
But this howl isn't about the history of the Wolfriders--it's about the history of Temba and those who currently inhabit it. Moonshade's basically inviting everyone to tell stories of where they're from and who they are, whether these are great historical stories or more personal small ones. Of course, there's also literal howling at the moon at these events. That's important too.
Anyway, she intends this as an opportunity to learn about those who're here, to share some of her culture, and a chance to feel just a little less homesick.
Please assume an invitation goes out on the network, but she'll also spread work in person, riding through town to catch people and let them know to meet in the open area north of the memorial (Green 19) after sundown for the Howl.
The IC post for this event will go up either tomorrow night or Saturday morning, depending on brain.

Here's one of the howls in canon, in honor of Cutter (not yet Cutter Kinseeker) and his parents Bearclaw and Joyleaf: Original Quest, issue 4.

It’s a very cool tradition. You can count on Cobb eagerly joining in. I don’t think his former slave community writes down much at all. Oral history and traditions are probably a big deal for him.
Ikora will probably be there as well if I can think up a story for her to tell. She’s more a books and record everything person.

Is anyone playing someone less social wants to handwave or play out him nudging them to come join the togetherness, I'm down. He will line up the arguments in favor and is not above both sneaky or blatant minor bribing.

He won't howl.

-Reeve is there, but too shy to talk.
-Lauri-Ell is there and happily participates and listens but she doesn't really have any stories. If someone really presses she'll talk about her sister saving her from a wrongful death sentence.
-Lark will tell a story of pirates because people look like they could use something there.
Tommy will be sir not appearing in this howl because he's not THAT social.
