Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!

This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.

A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.

If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.

Thread ideas:

- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.

- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...

- Is that a chill in the air? It seems to be getting just a little colder, day by day... or maybe it's your imagination? But just in case it's not, you might want to thinking about prepping for what could be winter. Does that mean gathering plants to dry for food? Stockpiling water, or trying to get the power to stay steady in the buildings so you won't freeze (does it even get down to freezing, here - who knows!)? It's up to you!

- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.

- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...

Gar wants to be like but spaceships but he makes a note of where he'd found this one that he's actually able to get open so he can explore later. Might as well make a friend and whatever.

"Kinda hard to get past the texture..." just a little bit.

Ah but here is the secret. Tommy is heading further into the ship. The dispensers are on the ships after all. No where else.

“You will probably have to live with what it is. Sure we have other stuff but clearly they intend us to go into space.”

Well that's just lucky then. He is more than happy to follow Tommy either way.

"You know, I'm not sure me going into space is a great idea for anyone." But then again it sounds really super freaking cool.

"Nope, probably not. But there are people learning to fly these, and people repair. I'm gonna keep being good at plants," Tommy shrugs as he guides Gar back toward the mess hall.

"The machines in here? They do a number of flavors of this shit."

"Good at plants?" Gar raises a brow curiously. "What's that even mean? You're a gardener?"

Either way, he follows him and raises a brow. "All the same texture though?" Because man, that was going to get old quick.

"So that glowy ball that you ABSOLUTELY had to have touched when you got here? That. There are those for other things. They give you smarts in things. I got smarts in farming."

He collects a bowl from under one of the dispensers and fills it with some of the chocolate. This one is a favorite. He pretends it's pudding.

"It's like living in a video game," Gar mutters and maybe he kind of half feels like a lot of this is some mind fuck from Cadmus or something.

"What's that one?"

"Chocolate," TOmmy says as he hops up onto a counter to start eating the stuff. Doesn't even bother with a spoon. Just dips his finger in and then licks it clean.

Okay. He'll go for it. Gar grabs a bowl himself and gets some of the chocolate too. He's super not trusting it but all the same he leans against the counter and dips his finger in to take some to have a taste.

"That... is going to take some getting used to."

"Yeah, a lot of it does. We don't have beds, for instance. Except here on the ships. And sometimes the Agrii aren't very smart."

But they try, a lot.

"If we don't have beds how do we sleep..on the ships?" That'd be kind of cool but it could be inconvenient too...

"There are bunks here on the ships. You'll get assigned one I think. Check your little comm thing, and it will tell you. The thing is, you might not have enough bunks on your ship. So..."

Tommy shrugs and dips his finger in the chocolate again, licking it free.

"Great..." Gar mutters, frowning a little. He'll check the comm thing in a bit he guesses. He's starting to think maybe he's going a little bit crazy.

He does keep trying the chocolate but yep that texture is just weird.

The texture is hell, but he'll get used to it. Tommy has. Then again, he's not exactly the best at refusing food when it's offered.

"In the mean time some people stay in the buildings."

Gar used to live with a really, really good chef. He's a bit spoiled when it comes to food.

"But there aren't beds, huh?"

"Definitely aren't. Except on the ships. Which is for the best. Because, you know, I think the Agrii were really tall. Are?"

"I don't get why that's for the best?" He can't help but raise his eyebrows. And he's still continuing to eat the chocolate even though he's not a fan.

"The beds wouldn't fit us."

Duh. And look, the protein gel is just good to eat, even if it wasn't the best.

"And all the beds in the buildings are rotted."

"Wouldn't they just be too big?" If they were super tall or whatever, what could be wrong with some extra room?

"But rotted beds sound gross so I guess it doesn't matter."

"Too big, no mattresses, and they're sorta narrow? It's all weird as hell. So you might just wanna stay on whatever ship you're on."

But Tommy? He likes keeping his hotel room. Because he can have it with his twin and keep the idiot safe.
