Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!

This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.

A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.

If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.

Thread ideas:

- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.

- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...

- Is that a chill in the air? It seems to be getting just a little colder, day by day... or maybe it's your imagination? But just in case it's not, you might want to thinking about prepping for what could be winter. Does that mean gathering plants to dry for food? Stockpiling water, or trying to get the power to stay steady in the buildings so you won't freeze (does it even get down to freezing, here - who knows!)? It's up to you!

- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.

- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...

"Younger like dumb kids with no experience, or younger like the other group is old dicks that can't superhero around without busting a hip?" She could relate to his opinion though, but she's not going to say that.

Wow, spoken like a true old person who hasn't figured out they're old yet.

"Like older teens and young adults who have tons of experience. I've fought against fucking alien invasions and the end of the world several times. So don't even go there, old lady."

"Old lady!" She comes to a stop with a hard scoff, jabbing an accusatory finger at him, "I'm 23, you son of a bitch, not even close to old, first off-! And I was just asking, actual younger or younger compared to old farts, don't gotta be so touchy."

Right. He's the touchy one. Of course.

Okay, so only a bit older than Kate.

"As in I'm nineteen and I've been in this line of work since I was about sixteenish."

So yeah, he's been at it for a while. For a hero. Surviving this long should be applauded.

Nineteen, she can remember those years, boots worn and kill count already ticking. The pride and cockiness, the excitement with each mission. Alright, she'll allow it. For the moment.

"Well, go on, tour guide it up, guy." She gestures a hand off and starts moving again.

"Yeah, come on. Let's do this the slow way. Even if it would be easier to just carry you."

But he's not going to do it. The lady is just aggressively rude.

"Trust me, you'd prefer not to." She eyes him warily, just to make sure he's not in any way tempted. She's bitten her own brother for hauling her up off her feet, she'll do more with some rando.

Yeah, but he could pick her up, carry her someone, and be out of reach before she could react. Now he's just TEMPTED.

"Cute that you think you could get back at me if i did."

"Buddy, you might be a "quick draw" with your little speedy feet, but you gotta sleep sometime." And while she does get impatient and ahead of herself- she can stealth if needed.

"Yeah, but that doesn't mean you'll know where to find me," Tommy shrugs. And he only sleep for three or four hours so yeah, he'll be fine.

"Hey, I know how to track people, how to find people not meant to be found." She juts a finger at him, then shrugs. "But I don't think you're that stupid to try it and cause any games of cat and mouse."

"And I have super senses and sleep lightly. You couldn't do anything," he counters. And maybe he'll put her on top of a building and leave her here.

"I can get in and out of an enemy base with their data without them knowing I was even there, not worried about your magical superhero bull." She's entirely sure she's more than capable of it, beyond confident and cocky.

"Yeah, so can I," Tommy shrugs. She's not that impressive. "And I could hear your footsteps."

She's absolutely impressive, just ask her! "Not if I'm sneaking, when I'm stealthing you won't hear shit."

"My hearing is better than a normal human's," Tommy counters. he's definitely hear.

"Okay. Listen. Don't get all bent outta shape here, but..." She starts, looking over at him to give him a once over before settling her gaze on his face again.

"Are you really just, like, a dog wearing human skin or something? Running all fast, apparently can hear everything ever, kinda wet fur smell..." She says with an exaggerated sniff his direction.

Really? Tommy glares at her and then shakes his head.

"You know what, find it all on your own."

He just didn't have patience for her right now. So he takes off with a burst of speed. Let her find things on her own.

She's tempted to yell he needs to learn how to take a joke, but she figures even with his fancy little ears he probably wont hear it. Fine by her, she's more than capable of handling this shit on her own, and it'll be easier without some fussy guy hanging around.
