TEST DRIVE
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application

Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!

This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.

A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.

If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.

So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!

Thread ideas:

- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.

- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...

- Is that a chill in the air? It seems to be getting just a little colder, day by day... or maybe it's your imagination? But just in case it's not, you might want to thinking about prepping for what could be winter. Does that mean gathering plants to dry for food? Stockpiling water, or trying to get the power to stay steady in the buildings so you won't freeze (does it even get down to freezing, here - who knows!)? It's up to you!

- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.

- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...

"Sure as hell isn't their morality," she mutters in a half-reply, and that's absolutely a dig at some of her more suspect cohorts, but there's no need to elaborate on that now, not with a new arrival and - another kid, by the looks of it, albeit a pretty strong one. She lets that sentiment go, schooling her features into something a little more neutral. "Can't say I mind the help doing recon, though." Assuming that's his intent in coming up here, of course. "Got a name?"

Part of him wants her to elaborate on that if only so he knows who to watch out for. If there are shady individuals among them it's better to know who to be on your guard around. But at the same time, he's too new to be creating a real opinion of anyone or anything just yet. People have a way of surprising you.

"And here I thought I was being subtle." As subtle as a large, hulking figure with wings could be flying overhead. But in all honesty it's never been Teddy's job to be subtle while in his hero persona.

"Hulkling," comes the immediate response, but then he seems to think better of it. "Um, when I'm like this anyways. But you can call me Teddy." This isn't even his world, and he certainly doesn't plan to stay for long, so clinging to the secret identity thing seems a bit silly.

The code name earns an eyebrow raise. "Hulkling," she repeats, with a curious and skeptical emphasis on the diminutive, like she's trying to figure out what his whole deal is, but really - the codename means the green skin slots into place easily enough, at least in her frame of reference, and she motions for him to follow to the roof of the hotel building, where it's easier to talk, at least. "Any relation to the big guy, or are just a fan? 'Cause last time I checked he didn't have wings." And then, quickly: "But I guess you never know; I'm offworld so much that something's new and different every time I come back to Earth."

He tries not to get his hopes up when she questions his code name. There's definitely recognition there, for the Hulk anyways. But it's a large multi-verse and if she doesn't recognize 'Hulkling' then it's more likely that she's not from his world. But he follows her down onto the hotel's rooftop and, after a moment, shifts to his normal human form. From tall, large, and green to slightly shorter, broad shouldered, white teenager sans the wings.

"I guess you could say I'm a fan. Of all the Avengers really. When my friends and I started our team, the Young Avengers, we all picked an Avenger to kind of...inspire us." AKA basically ripping off their hero personas. "We were going for the whole 'next generation' thing."

A slow, pleased smile spreads across her face, hearing that her team have been the kind of inspiration the world needs, but after he changes shape, her expression changes to one of curiosity. "When are you from?" she asks, figuring that in their line of work, that's not such an unusual question.

"Manhattan." It's a rote response but the one he feels is the most truthful. Having only been a baby when separated from his birth mother, he doesn't remember anything about the Skrull culture he had been born surrounded by. He knows even less about the Kree side of his parentage.
