Her emotions are chaotic and almost entirely negative. She is angry at herself, angry at Anakin, the Jedi and, most of all, Palpatine (who happens to hail from Naboo too). She feels like a failure - and not just as a politician either. Instead of bringing her babies into a good galaxy filled with hope and balance, she left them, motherless, in one that will likely try to kill them. And then there is her failure as a wife too.

It's a lot for her to shoulder and listening to Cal is easier than facing her demons.

"I can't say I've been in your exact position, but that feeling of always being knocked down has happened to me too. Many times." her voice breaks, "We have to stand up. There are too many lives depending on us."

And there are too many reasons to not give up.

"I can tell you about the Jedi I knew if that...helps? I worked with them closely for many years."
