The hesitation doesn't bother Wilson and he quite willingly hands over the torch only to dust his own hands off once they are both free again and hold one open claw out under the lighter in a wordless prompt for Dustin to drop it. Is he bothered by the fact that he has actually given the teenager a weapon? No. Or he simply isn't aware of it.

"Medicine studies then, eh? I always found those boring. Just chemical reactions being observed. Hardly any real flesh to it, if you understand what I mean." He has studied medicine long enough and got expelled from more than his fair share of universities for either experimenting on his fellow students or causing chemical explosions in various labs back when he was still on Earth and attempting to do the regular boring sort of science.
