SUMMER TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Summer in Temba and Sh'Ka
For those that are in a more summer and sun kind of fun, there's always the beach to the south of Temba, where the sand and surf welcome all comers. However here too there is a lot of growth going on, with new reeds and shore grasses rising up, serving as a great place for fat green lobsters to hide and pinch at the unwary.
Or maybe it's better to explore the buildings these days, with how the plants have taken over everything. However one might well find that less commonly used buildings and ruins have their own plant problems. Some are overgrown with fruitbearing vines, and others filled with wide swaths of various forms of mint. Good news there is that the glownies seem to have gotten free, or others have arrived, to feast upon the mintsplosion.
Explore
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has yet to be fully explored; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.

There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Reno | Azur Lane
Reno woke up.
That was the odd thing. What she last remembered was sailing into the fog, Baltimore and Enterprise were missing and...
And...?
And where was she?
The silver haired girl struggled to pick herself from the ground, being as top heavy as she was. Purple eyes darted across the overgrown battered cityscape, along with them the gun turrets and anti-aircraft cannons of her rigging. She remembered stories of the soldiers she ferried home from Europe, of the devastated cities they had found. Something told her this was worse. Far worse. "Where am I, what kind of Siren trick is this-"
It was then that she found the glowing data node. It didn't even need to summon her, the cruiser raced straight over with wide-eyed determination. "Aha! Alien technology! Now what password do you need? Klaatu barrada nikto? WARMACHINEROX? 1-2-3-4-5?"
She touched it.
And then she knew everything.
It was a long moment at first, processing everything. A long moment, and she took a deep breath and went to work on her datapad.

Hello, Reno of the Eagle Union reporting in!
Enterprise? Baltimore? Are you here too? How did I even get here? Is there a way back to NY City? We're gonna need a lot of Seabees to get this city rebuilt!
Arrival
Once it's done he makes an annoyed noise and lifted himself out of the water. Only then does he notice Reno.
"What's going on here?" he asked, because he definitely didn't believe the data upload.

steve rogers | marvel cinematic
The thing about leapfrogging through time, however accidentally, is that the experience gives you a little bit of gravitas for the next bout of weirdness. In this case it's going from modern day New York to a planet in space. At least, Steve thinks it's in space, because none of the flora or fauna he's run into so far are Terran in origin. Sure, most of it looks similiar, but it's not. He's had the temporary bruises to prove it.
Right now, though, Steve is seated on the beach and soaking up a little sunshine. Trying to do that whole relaxation thing that everyone's been suggesting since his Long Nap (tm). And the oddly wistful expression on his face says he might be up for some company. So come bug the newest resident super soldier.

Lan Bo | The Falling Merman
Summer already isn't fun for Lan Bo - it's too hot and it's making his bandages dry up too quickly. Mix that in with the overgrowth of everything that he now has to climb over and around just to get from place to place, and you've got a frustrated merman. He absolutely does not approve. Fix it.
He's making his way as quickly as he can to the beach. Sand should be safe, right? Too bad it's not. He just wants to get in the water! He's going to die like this. It would make all the effort he made to get Bai's attention to save him for nothing.
And where even is Bai, anyway? He's so annoyed right now.He doesn't even make it halfway to the beach before a thorn prods his tail and that seems to be the straw that broke the camel's back; he turns around and starts tearing at the thorned bush with his teeth. It scratches and pierces him as he bites down, but he seems to be tearing into it rather efficiently, eating it as he goes. But in his angry eating, he ignores the fact that his bandages are completely dry now. It's only a matter of time before he grows weak and begins to suffocate from the lack of water.
Can anyone help him get to the water?
..::|| Explore Temba ||::..
If you happened to go near the flooded area, you might find a merman who pops back up to the surface from time to time to drop things off on the shore only to dive back in again. A small handful here, a large object there. Sometimes he even only comes back up with one small thing, to rinse, lather, and repeat. He's having a blast, down here, honestly.
Closer expection of Lan Bo's trinkets reveal things that might not be useful to many. Old disks, a VCR that surely can't work anymore, some toys and knicknacks, silverware. He's just collecting and dropping them off. These are his now. A few more times and you might see him come up empty-handed, to look around for something, and redive without taking anything. What is he looking for? Even he's not sure.
But then, the next time he surfaces, he spots you, and his eyes light up.
"Help..." is all he says, as he reaches out to take your arm and pull you into the water with him. Hopefully you have something to help you breathe, because he plans to go a long way down.
..::|| Try the Network ||::..
[Lan Bo is pretty sure he's seen something like this before back home. Not that he ever really got to do much with one; but he had watched others use theirs. None of these symbols look like any of the ones back home, though. So, of course, this just means he'll have to poke buttons until he finds something he wants. Though he's not sure what he wants right now. He manages to figure out the home button, though. So he can play with all the pretty coloured buttons. Imagine his surprise when he finds out he's on video.
These
Hello, world, you get to see a very curious looking merman swinging his device back and forth as it mirrors him and his surroundings. He's absolutely fascinated. He saw people back home take pictures of themsevles in a similar way. Is this how you do it? Where's the snapshot button?]
What is...?
[Is all he manages to say so far, trying to figure this thing out.]

What he wasn't expecting to find was a dude in the path that Gladio's having to cut through with a greatsword almost as large as he is. But huh... That's... a mermaid? Merman?

However, between her rather noticeable rigging and even more noticeable talent, it wouldn't have been too hard for Lan Bo to notice her. Before she knows it, she's caught by the wrist and pulled into the water with quite the loud splash!
There's a hard tug at his arm to free herself, while Reno lets out a water-garbled "I'm a cruiser not a submarine!"

Book Three HP
Harry fell over at the sight of the massive black dog and was very nearly run over by a purple bus. And then he was here. Wherever 'here' was. There's a fountain and things seem to be in a bit of disrepair. He glances around and sucks in a breath. He figures if this were the ministry is wouldn't look so post apocalyptic and he'd be swarmed because he did kinda do some underaged magic. Whoops.
He takes stock of his situation and himself. He's still got his glasses, held together at the nose with a piece of tape, he's got his wand (thank goodness) and all the same clothes he'd been wearing earlier that evening. His jacket is several sizes too big and the same could be said of his trousers and his shirt. He's had to make a homemade belt hole to get the pants to stay up.
He keeps his wand firmly in hand as he's in a strange place and he has no idea what to expect.

Er... Hello.

Dumpster diving.
The Temban equivalent of a dumpster was probably more high-tech when the city was in working order. Now, after what might be several hundreds or thousands of years of neglect, they operated the same way Dustin was used to. He'd identified one that might even still have trash in it and had propped the lid open with a sturdy-looking branch, then further secured it with a vine from the same tree he'd stolen the limb from. He's just now climbing back out as Harry passes by.
Dustin freezes mid-vault as he catches sight of him. He does a quick visual assessment. Harry appears younger than him, but not by much. Slight, glasses. Has a weapon - wait, no, just a stick. Probably not a threat. Weird clothes. Not that Dustin looks any less interesting; he's short for his age, making up for his height with a mop of fluffy brown hair and his small frame with several layers of ragged-looking sweaters. Hours of skulking through the city has left them dirty and matted with perspiration. The old trash is honestly so desiccated that it isn't contributing that much to the look.
He locks eyes with Harry from across the street, still frozen in place. No illusions of being noticed - now he's just waiting to see what the other kid does about it.

Wilson Percival Higgsbury | Don't Starve (Together) | 'The Triumphant' AU
One gloved hand rests idly on his hip, the other is raised to his chin, one oddly sharp finger tapping pensively against the corner of his mouth while dark eyes travel from the grazing creatures to the lake and back. "I wonder... You don't happen to be able to swim, do you?" He asks the glownies, but doesn't wait for an answer before waving his hand with a dismissively dark chuckle. "Oh, no need to answer. I know an easy way to test that. Just a little experiment if you want. For science!"
The words were barely spoken when a large hand made of shadow appears underneath one of the glownies and effortlessly picks the animal up, much to the glownies' distress.
Networking
Well. This is an interesting little place you have here. Not as deadly and filled with the failed mental experiments of a tired old man as the Constant, but- I take it. I'll accept this change. This new challenge for the mind!
[ The smirk widens into a wide grin made of sharp teeth. ]
You may call me Wilson. And once I figured this place out I may be willing to let myself be convinced to share some tips on how to improve the fun you can have with your guests. I'm an expert.
[ And with a small gesture of his hand, the video turns off. ]
maybe not helping the glownie
Silently, Dustin assesses the man. Pale, weird clothes, a little too sharp in places. He has the look of someone that doesn't get out much. Kind of talks like one, too, and not just because he's speaking with the glowing horse-sheep creatures grazing at the water's edge. Dustin isn't too concerned by Wilson's implication that he's going to try and dunk one of these animals in the water; in fact, he finds himself kind of curious to see what will happen as well. Not necessarily because he wants to know if the glownies will swim. Maybe one will attack the man with alien strength? That would be an important lesson for him.
Instead, Dustin is treated to a sight he's only ever had nightmares about.
"--Holy fuck!" comes the startled yell from the trees, accompanied by a disheveled-looking teenager scrabbling backwards across the dirt. He's broken his cover, but frankly that is the least of his concerns right now. "What the fuck is that fucking--what?!"

Dustin Silver | OC
It's early afternoon in the (mostly) abandoned ruins of Temba. There's a sort of stillness in the air that comes with a hot summer's day in a forest, where the only things moving are the soft swaying of overhanging tree limbs in a gentle breeze and their associated, dappled shadows on the crumbled roads, the only noises the distant calls of alien wildlife that are too restless for a mid-afternoon nap. Parts of this picture are just familiar enough that it might soothe the nerves of some other new arrivals.
But not Dustin.
The stillness is briefly broken as a short, slight teenage boy ducks from behind a tree and sprints to the nearest building. He's been at this for a while now, scuttling and weaving like some kind of spooked wild animal between large bits of flora. For all the panic obvious in his over-cautious movements and wide, green eyes, he's been doing a pretty good job of staying stealthy so far, too. It's only this last stretch, where he's had to cross a relatively open stretch of sidewalk, that his composure finally falls apart.
Dustin skids to a halt, his extra momentum carrying him a little too hard into the door. He collides with a soft oof but quickly recovers, hurriedly pushing it open and lurching inside, where he immediately leans back and slams the door closed again with his full weight. Then he spins out of the way, back pressed flat against the adjoining wall, and goes stock still. Dustin stands there for a few tense moments, trying to control his breathing. His thick, bushy brown hair is speckled with thorns and sticky seed pods, and the very temperature-inappropriate sweaters he's wearing are looking a bit damp.
...And now he's looking like a deer in the headlights, because he realizes that he's burst into a building that is currently occupied.
Spaceships!
Once Dustin gets a little more comfortable with his new predicament (for certain definitions of "comfortable"), he'll have a chance to do some dedicated research to figure out his own next steps. The map on his network tablet is an excellent start. Deliberately avoiding the actual network function of this device, Dustin narrows in on a very interesting building labeled "Hangar." To him, this could mean one of several things. All of his hopes and dreams come true when he finally makes his way there and sees rows of what are definitely spaceships.
A part of him - likely the part that was injected into his brain by the data terminal when he arrived here - tells him that he shouldn't be surprised by spaceships. The Agrii were quite technologically advanced, after all. Interplanetary, hell, interstellar travel was likely child's play to them before their civilization collapsed. But the rest of him looks these ships over with glittering eyes and can't help how his heart starts skipping beats. He hasn't forgotten his resentment for being brought here against his will...but there's nothing saying he can't learn everything from his captors while he's here, right? This is just a special little treat for him.
Dustin spends the better part of his evening wandering the hangar, busily taking notes and sketches in an old and stained composition notebook as he lurks around the base of each ship. If anyone left the bay doors open, his excitement might even get the better of his paranoia and he'll invite himself into some of them. With his nose buried in his notebook, he's not likely to notice anyone approaching him.
Exploring
"I'd applaud, but man, it's too hot for that. Come over here."
He turns away from the salad he's chopping up with some... very strange looking vegetables, and moves to a large container on the counter. Nothing a tall glass of water can't help with, he hopes. Too bad it isn't chilled.
"New arrival and not ready for summer in Temba, clearly. Things are seriously growing this year. I haven't managed to get it cut back yet."

Ami Mizuno / Sailor Mercury | Sailor Moon Crystal
Those travelling the city might notice something peculiar. Flashes of a blue skirt darting behind debris, a glimpse of a grey cardigan vanishing into a doorway, a pair of wide blue eyes peeking out from just as sapphire hair before vanishing into darkness. Someone new has arrived, someone who doesn't want to be seen even if she isn't quite proficient in stealth. Hopefully being small will have its advantages!
One moment, Ami had been on her way to join her friends in visiting the T-A Academy. The next, she wasn't. Rei had warned them that evil was afoot, and the tiny guardian's first thought was that it had struck her first. The data point in the city center didn't dissuade her from that belief, and it took a few moments of crumpling into self-pity over her lost studies, family, and friends before she could hear a familiar voice in her head:
"YOU WERE ON AN ALIEN PLANET!? YOU WERE AN ASTRONAUT! LET'S GO GET ICE CREAM AND YOU CAN TELL ME EVERYTHING!"
Never let it be said that Ami would ever let Usagi down. Taking stock that she still had her Star Power Stick though a strange datapad replaced her communicator, the demure girl dashed off to explore this strange new world she had been drawn into. If there truly was darkness present, wandering out in the open was not an option. There was the notion of changing into Sailor Mercury, but she couldn't take that chance until she was absolutely sure of where and why. Ami would have to be stealthy, a skill she hadn't quite refined despite that one school report about ninjitsu. But she had to try!
That building with all the tubes leading into it looks important. Perhaps if she started there, she could find some answers.

Daia | Daia Game
Things Daia wanted to go do this summer: definitely swimming.
Things he did not expect: vines and green everywhere.
Okay, maybe it's not a total ruiner of fun. Or at least he's going to try and not let it. But when he's been to beaches, it was always sand everywhere met with the ocean to play in. Not... whatever all this foliage was. Though he supposes that's because he's not used to the new world yet. ...Maybe. It's still a bit frustrating when you're trying to play, only to get tripped by one of the growths pushing its way out of the sand (was that there a second ago?).
Whatever, he'll just go play in the water. The growth won't be there, right? The water equals freedom to play and cool off! He's already getting himself excited. He's running toward the beach, on what he thought was a clear path, but there was a sneaky lobster hiding nearby, and as his foot comes down, the lobster grabs a toe and pinches him.
Daia yells out and stumbles, crashing into the nearest person. His eyes well up with tears as he tries to bear with the pain of not only his toe, but now having crashed into someone.
"Ow, ow, owwww...."
He opens one eye to look at his fellow victim.
"I... I'm sorry... I didn't mean to." He continues to ow under his breath as he tries to force himself to stand. "Are you okay?"
Thankfully, Daia's a rather small vampire. And a very weak one, so that's probably to your advantage surviving the crash. And this small vampire is wearing a cute swimsuit, too. But really, he's genuinely thinking about crying right now, but he has to make sure the other person is okay first.
[ 2. Spaceships ]
Daia can't help but gawk in awe. He'd seen so many things back on the train, including things in space. But the ships in this world look so different, and they're amazing! They're so huge! He has no idea how to fly one, nor is he really going to try. But he will certainly peek his head in as much as possible to get a look at what these things look like and how it might work.
And as he wanders around, one of them pops the doors open, causing Daia to startle back for a moment. With wide eyes, he stares at the open door for a moment. But then he finally approaches, albeit cautiously. Was the ship supposed to open up? His head flicks about as he looks around the room inside.
"Uhm... H-hello?" He pauses, stretching himself in further without officially stepping in. "Is anyone in here?"
Will he get in trouble if he goes in?
[ 3. The Storms CW: Mentions of death, murder, and trafficking ]
Daia is running, looking for shelter. He got caught in the middle of the squall as it started pouring down, and he's trying to get out of it as fast as he can. He breathes hard and heavy, dashing his head around to look for any place to duck into. He's soaking wet, the rain dripping off of him, making him rub his face to try and keep the water out of his eyes, but hardly to any avail.
Just where is he? Why does nothing look familiar?
He hears something familiar call out to him. A voice he hasn't heard in so long. His eyes go wide and his head flicks in the direction he thinks he heard it.
"M... Mom?"
There's no way, right? She's dead, along with his dad. He knows for sure that a hunter killed them. He's been to their funerals, their graves. Given them flowers. That can't be her voice.
Then there's another.
"Kuro!?" He dashes another direction. He hasn't seen Kuro since... since he got pulled from his world to join the Void. And how Kuro was right about Shishou. He had to apologize! He had to find Kuro! Somehow Kuro had followed him here! And it's been so long!
He bolts the direction he heard the voice from, where he swears he sees Kuro's shadow!
"Kuro! I'm coming!"
He follows the shadow to a clearing, and looks around, the rain still pouring down. He sees... you instead. And for a moment, he looks genuinely panicked, genuinely saddened. He's...
He looks around. No signs of Kuro or the shadow anywhere. So he turns back to you.
"Where's Kuro!?" It sounds pained, desperate. He wants to see him again. "Please! Tell me!"
If it wasn't for the rain, one might see the tears begin to pour from his eyes. They feel so hot in the cold rain.
no subject
He'd come, dressed in a loose tee, cargo pants, and shades, in the hopes that the sands would block the rampant plant growth and be a place where he could sit and think. Apparently not. Upon observing the green hellscape, he turned on his heel to leave, only for someone to barrel into him with such force that he's nearly knocked over.
"Watch where you're---"
His shades slide down his nose as he tries to glare. Doesn't quite manage it, because...does he know this person? He thinks he does, and when he speaks next his tone is entirely different.
"...Are you...?"
He mouths the name on the tip of his tongue, still stunned by disbelief..

Bill Cipher | Gravity Falls
The southwest side of this curiously unique city, in this brand spanking new dimension, appeared to Bill to be the most promising, after his arrival at the fountain and instant 'debrief' by the data point. He mulled it over for a few minutes. Trapped in a collapsing dimension for many many eons made for an attitude patient by necessity, and he was too excited by the prospects of this new plane to feel very nervous. So the Agrii wanted assistance? They came to the right being! Or the right being came to them. Details!
All Bill really knew was that someone else needing something was a great opportunity to bargain and get what he needed, so in a way, it was a great relief to be told that he was in a position to offer.
"Hey, that's really something!" He observed the museum from a slight distance, floating with his hands on his triangular hips like a quintessential tourist. And that other building nearby he'd seen earlier, that looked like someone had taken a big bite out of it? That was actually charming, at least in the eye of this particular beholder. Charming, and ominous.
He didn't think picking up the odd bit of rubble in the street was going to do much good (like spitting on a fire, really), floating indecisively in front of the museum. He heard someone approaching, made up his mind to table any actions.
Time to make fiends and influence people.

Radley | Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds
When he found the info and learned where and why, it didn't ease his distress in the least. He fumbled with his communicator and soon turned it on. He knew tech, so hopefully this would be easy.
"Hello?! What the hell is this?! Is anyone out there?!"
Network - voice
He floated over to the tablet, "Take a couple calming breaths! Find your center! I think they call it 'core rooting', these days! Anyway, you're here for a long time and possibly a good time, but that depends on you. Over."

Malone | Highlander: The Animated Series | Immortal AU
Malone did not travel often, and when he did, it was of course in the company of Lord Kortan. But in Lord Kortan's company he had seen some of the old and broken ruins outside of Mogonda, the places that had been cities once. They hadn't been anywhere near as green as this!
Without a chaperone or anyone to even try to give him orders, Malone was like a tourist more than anything. Oh, he'd touched the Data Point and he knew what he was here for. It had been startling at first, but he'd brushed it off with a laugh, playing with the little device he'd been given for a minute before deciding to explore instead. He'd keep it with him -- being given anything to keep was new -- but for the moment he'd just assume that the way information had been pushed into his head was some kind of black magic. (Maybe that was what reading was like?) And if some people who knew black magic wanted him to help fix this place up, why, he should at least take a look, shouldn't he?
He didn't even come close to getting to work. He poked into the buildings and picked up little baubles before setting them down again, passed by items of clothing with complete disinterest, picked a very strange fruit to eat (one that luckily didn't have any unpleasantly strange effects!) and eventually stopped to rest at the northeast ruins. There was a lot of mint around, and Malone kicked his feet as he sat at the edge of a pit in the floor, watching the glownies graze with a curious grin.
When someone else came in, Malone leaned back on his hands, looking upside-down at them, chewing on a bit of mint himself. "Maybe we should have been eating grass all along," he greeted. Hi to you, too?
Spaceships!
After poking around the northeast side of Temba for a while, Malone stumbled across the hangar. The spaceships looked like nothing he'd ever seen, even though Mogonda'd had the most advanced tanks and transports on Earth. The hangar looked like nothing he'd ever seen, even though he'd accompanied Lord Kortan to the remains of the space station to meet Emerson -- that was the closest to this that he could recall, but even then he couldn't begin to guess what these vehicles were for. They had no wheels, so did they float? Fly?
He hid as one landed, peeking out eyes wide and then waiting until everyone seemed to have cleared out before coming back out of hiding. They flew, then! He'd never seen anything that flew like that. And they looked so heavy!
He couldn't figure out how to get inside the one that had just landed, and he wasn't really expecting his efforts to work on any of the others. When one of the doors actually did slide open to him with a hiss, he leapt back with a surprised jingle and yelp.
If he went inside, what if it wouldn't let him back out again?
He shook off that thought and ventured in. Just a few minutes later and it might be hard for anyone to believe his earlier hesitance; he spent a little while jumping on the single cot, laughing in amusement, and then cartwheeled off down the hall to the galley, where he set about playing with the beverage and protein dispensers in pure fascination. A lot of these flavors were new! The nutrient paste was definitely new. He might not even notice anyone coming in at first, so wrapped up in this was the little jester.
Network!
[Malone had eventually gone back to playing with the communicator that he's been given -- not that he has any idea what it is or might be. Poking at the different pictures on it isn't really clearing that up any; he doesn't know how to read, and even accidentally pressing the glasses and activating J.O.N. hadn't helped as he had just rushed to turn it back off again as it started reading off Crew information. Not helpful for Malone at this time.
He appears to have found the "Net Work," though he also doesn't appear to know what he's found. He's peering at the screen in interest, mask with its silly pointed nose all complete.]
Hmmm. [He pokes at the screen -- it's accompanied by a jingle -- and frowns.] Why can't you speak in my head? Black magic isn't half as fun as I thought.
[Despite his words, though, he smiles again, then laughs to himself. From the looks of things, he's someplace in the big department store. Sitting on a counter? Anyone want to tell him this thing's on before he turns the text-to-speech bot back on again?]
Wildcard!
[If you have an idea on where or how your character could run into Malone, feel free to PM me or just go for it here!]
Spaceships
--Sleighbells?
The spaceship Bill was examining became much less interesting than the prospect of someone pulling the other one that had bells on. Bill turned (completely, as was required for his front facing eye and neckless physiology) and floated over to the open door, sticking his top half inside and then climbing in with both hands to either side.
What was that sound really? A cat? Witch bells? With this place, it could be anything, and Bill loved that sort of spontaneity, craved it more than anything short of personal freedom.
He wasn't even disappointed to float in on a scrawny but lithe looking humanoid, of the bipedal, carbon variety with which he had grown so familiar over the last few decades. Evolutionarily it was a very popular design, probably because it was hilarious and at least somewhat functional.
"You gonna mix the 7-Up with all the other flavors?" He inquired, in his typical jubilant greeting.

Once that's brewing there is finally motion inside.
Motion in the form of someone coming out of the back room, yawning a little. One Reeve Tuesti stretches and moves to the coffee his little friend has set up, stretching before looking at the papers before him.
"I see you collated the data last night. Thank you, Mini."
The cat offers a little salute.
"Ah did promise. Was tha only way ta get ya ta actually sleep."
Reeve rolled his eyes at that, but it had probably been true. As it was most days. Almost all days actually. In fact, the only thing different this morning happened to be that golden eye watching them that neither noticed.

That didn't mean Clint was really liking the fact that he could feel someone watching him. Which might be paranoia of course. But you know what they said. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.
Of course then there were the noises. Delighted, maybe hungry ones?
"Well damn. I'm about to get eaten on an alien planet aren't I?
