Dustin's face grows hot from anger, but he doesn't rise to it. Talking so flippantly about something that so fundamentally changed his outlook on life feels like an intentional jab, though Wilson might not have meant it that way. Regardless, it hurts. It hurts even more when Dustin realizes that he doesn't entirely disagree with this monster. Not about the 'medicine is a boring science' bit, rather, the 'it's necessary and it's interesting' bit. He would've told his test subjects what he was doing to them before he did it, made sure they understood the risks involved first, but Dustin could easily put himself in his adopted mother's place and see himself doing the same things. The disconnect makes him feel a little ill.
