Spring Test Drive Meme!
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.
- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...
- Do you hear a storm? A giant, power-altering storm has been ravaging part of the planet for a month. It shows ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? More information can be found here.
- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.
- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...
Exploring!
The black water hit the ground around the stranger's feet and splashed up the hem of his robes before Tony realized those were feet and was snatching the bucket back, trying to catch what was left in it before he dumped the whole thing. Not only had he botched this greeting, Tony realized when he stumbled back with the bucket clutched apologetically to his chest like he had to hold the thing back from further attack, peering down his nose through the sunglasses perched there then dropping his chin to squint over the frames at this new face, Tony was despicably underdressed. He took a quick glance up and down the grassy hill to make sure he wasn't the only one that had missed the occasion, then said, "Sorry, you must have looked thirsty."

Yet....this sort of thing happened a lot among his clan. People like to do pranks like this to insult him and he simply kept his head down and took it. It was best to not draw attention and start something back at home. Even if his higher rank would have gotten them in trouble. The fact that he was often ill and didn't seem to contribute much to the clan made him a simple target.
This had been purely an accident, Wen Ning could tell. He had moved to go pick up the bucket, but saw the other had retrieved it first.
"No apologies necessary Young Master. I did not mean to intrude on your work. I should apologize instead," Wen Ning replied as he in turn gave an apologetic bow.

"No, they aren't ruined. I needed cloth for a bag so I used part of the robes for it. The water is nothing....I've traveled through worse collecting herbs." he carefully explained.
He kept his head low not wanting to make eye contact with the other, unsure of how to handle the other. He was nothing like anyone from his clan or the other clans.
who is this...soft boy...
:)
He even finally made eye contact with Tony, believing the other not to be of danger. He wasn't offended by the wet robes as believed, he was just more cautious.

"Wen Ning...." He replied as he gave a brief bow as he introduced himself. He stared at Tony's hand in confusion unsure of what he was supposed to do. He chose to mimic him by holding out his hand.

The forge as a stone column, several stories high but oppressively dark by only a few feet above their heads, making the massive space feel intimately small. The two bright points in the echoing hall were the crackling fire, ember low but rolling a thick heat across the floor, and the array of lighting above the workbench that Tony led them toward with another gesture to keep following, it was fine, nothing in here was as breakable as it looked, probably. He could handle it, anyway, and carelessly shoved his work aside to make room on the table, unconcerned at the sound of glass hitting the floor.

His curiosity got the best of him as he took to exploring the forge as Tony lead the way. Wen Ning was curious about the lightening above the workbench. Were there candles in there? He moved to get a closer look to realize there were no candles. Magic perhaps? The light wasn't from the fire or the windows.
"Where are the candles coming from the to create your light source?" He asked.
He was then distracted by the sound of shattered glass and went to go see if he could help. Broken glass was never a good thing.

"China. I'm from the Quishan Wen Sect and live in the Nightless City." he replied careful with his wording wanting to be specific as possible. It seemed to matter a lot to Tony.

He wondered if they have various cultivator secs there too. It also explained why Tony looked so different from his own people.
