If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.

Thread ideas:

- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.

- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...

- Do you hear a storm? A giant, power-altering storm has been ravaging part of the planet for a month. It shows ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? More information can be found here.

- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.

- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...

[ And he sets aside the hair-talk for now as well, because something here seems off. ]

That’s a lofty ambition rather soon don’t you think, my very young apprentice?

[He just thinks Anakin is fooling around and is far too grumpy at the moment to realize or admit that something does indeed seem off.]

[ And this is when it clicks. ]

Actually, Obi-Wan. I think I remember when I have last seen this haircut on you.

[ He pauses solely for dramatic effect. ]

It was before I became a Jedi Knight. You're from my past!

[ Guess what? He's not telling you that you're a Master in his time! ]

Don’t be ridiculous, Anakin, that doesn’t make any sense.

Maybe you could just let me talk to Cody, then. I'm sure he hasn't strayed far from his General.

[That brings a pause and a look of concern to Obi-Wan’s face. Either Anakin had suddenly gotten very good at making up stories, or something definitely isn’t right here.]

What are you talking about?

See? All the way in the past. Before the war even started.

[ You know what? ]

You may call me Master Skywalker.

[He’s definitely getting concerned now. Though that last part draws a glare from Obi-Wan.]

Oh, I think not. Do you really think I’m that gullible?

Obi-Wan, it's been years. We're almost the same age and I've been leading battalions of clones against the Separatist's droid army. I could teach you a thing or two by now.

Or do you think I wouldn't make a good master?

[ Pauuuuuse. ]

Are you jealous?

[Obi-Wan squints at the projection of Anakin. It’s harder to tell when not in person but he can’t be THAT much older right?]

Do you really want me to answer that question?

[Though he tames a little bit at the last part.]

Jealous? Of you being successful? Why would I be? It’s every master’s wish to see their student excel and even surpass them. If you have your own Padawan, you should know that.

[ Thanks, Obi-Wan. Now he feels a little bad for toying with you.

So... Where are you? Please tell me you aren't on the other side of the planet. So far I haven't found any speeders around.

[As he should! Obi-Wan isn’t as stupid as Anakin might think he is. The change in subject definiteky doesn’t go unnoticed but he rolls with it.]

To be honest I’m not really sure. I’ve been wandering around this city for some time now.

So have I. Been expecting some battle droids to fall from the sky for a while now, but apparently...

[ He just shrugs. ]

Maybe we can try to meet somewhere.

Battle droids are something I could do without.

[They have been a scourge ever since the battle on Naboo. Anakin keeps giving him hints though perhaps without realizing it. The Separatists have apparently turned to war, which is unfortunate to hear.]

Hold on a moment.

[Obi-Wan closes his eyes and decides to try. Reaching out with the Force he searches. Looking for other luminous beings. Strangely enough, he senses a few out there, but one in particular gets his attention and Anakin might feel a little something through that master and Padawan bond. Something that should have been severed if what Anakin had said was true.]

[ Anakin does as he is told, relaxing his posture while watching the screen on his phone, well familiar with what Obi-Wan is attempting to do.

And he does perk up a little a moment later as he picks up the familiar nudge. ]

Heh. Doesn't seem too far away... Looks like we're in the same city after all! You want to come over, or shall I spare your old bones the exercise?

[He can’t tell exactly where Anakin is but at least he has a general direction. Obi-Wan then opens his eyes.]

It will be faster if we meet halfway. Unless you’re in no hurry to meet with your “old” master.

I could stop the time you need to find me?

[ He's teasing. The video's image makes it clear enough that he is already on his way. ]

So what do you think about this place? Sure looks like something exploded here, doesn't it.

It’s a mess. Clearly some sort of disaster happened here. There doesn’t seem to be much left.

Those storms, yes. Apparently they wiped out most of the native population - And now they want us to rebuild their homes and get rid of those storms.

Sounds fun, right? We might have to tear all these ruins down and just start from scratch.

It’s a tall order.

[A very tall order.]

Normally that might be the case, however you’re forgetting one thing.

We don’t have the resources or the manpower to rebuild an entire city from the bottom up.

I'm not saying we'd be rebuilding it the exact same way it was. Just functional and safe enough to serve as a solid foundation. Turn the wreckage of the city into a town people can live in and properly rebuild from there.

Do you have any idea with how few tools houses on Tatooine were build? It's doable. You just have to get rid of the idea of rebuilding exactly what has been there.

Even what you’re proposing will take a lot of time, work, and resources. It’s not just tools, Anakin, it’s also materials. You can’t build something from nothing.

We have no droids, and from what I can tell there’s not many people here either. The logistics of such a project are enormous. It could take years.

[ And you get a laugh for that, Obi-Wan. ]

You're thinking much too complicated, Obi-Wan. We're literally surrounded by material! We even have electricity and water. This actually could be pretty fun.

[Theres a long exasperated sigh. He’s a Jedi not a brick layer! Obi-Wan doesn’t exactly have experience in actually building buildings.]

And I think you’re being too simplistic. If it were that easy, why did the people here not do it themselves? Why did they leave?
