If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.

Thread ideas:

- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.

- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...

- Do you hear a storm? A giant, power-altering storm has been ravaging part of the planet for a month. It shows ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? More information can be found here.

- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.

- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...

I'm fine. This is... just... it's new. Not something I was expecting but I'm okay.

[ Just shaking his head on that one, then a shrug. ]

As for these data points... It's mostly this one. The others are meant for specific professions.

You can learn to pilot the space ships from one of them, actually.

Right. It's a finality to that because it's not like they were..anything really. Jon never saw him that way. ]

What kind of tea did the Agrii provide? Or did someone just find the right combination of herbs?

[ He gives a short, partially indignant noise in response to that quite astute commentary, but doesn't add a verbal notion himself. It's true. He knows it. ]

The city has a greenhouse. I suppose some experimentation already happened - Or the agriculture data point provides those information. We... We also were sent to a different planet for a while. I know quite a few of us acquired tea there.

[ Yes, including him. He has a decent stack of alien tea stored away in the library. ]

Alien tea. Right on. I'm curious about what that's going to taste like.

[ Jon gives a brief, yet fond sound of amusement in response. ]

You will be done quickly, don't worry. There's hardly any reading material on this planet - And half of it has been defaced by Cayde.

[ The question about the library though... It earns a little shrug. ]

Sometimes I'm not sure myself. On some days I feel like I am just hiding in there. Turning it into my... Den... I suppose.

[ That's what you call the dwelling place of a monster, right? ]

That doesn't surprise me. Especially that someone has already defaced it.

[ Isn't that how it usually goes? Someone defacing history? At least there wasn't a lot to read. ]

A den, honestly Jon. [ He laughs a little at that. ] Well. I'm still an archival assistant, yeah? We'll figure it out. It can't stay empty forever.

I- I was joking, Martin! It was a joke.

[ He hoped that would be obvious? Though Jon can't ever be sure if his jokes are being perceived as such. ]

But- Yes. I was... I was hoping to put something of value into those shelves... Kept getting distracted.

I know! Though I'm just trying to picture you as a terrifying den monster who hordes knowledge.

[ There's a light, teasing tone in his voice, a smile on his lips. Oh, he knows you were joking but were you actually wrong, Jon? How much time have you been spending in the library? ]

I'm sure we'll figure it out.

I will let you know when I turn into a giant eyeball to do exactly that.
