Spring Test Drive Meme!
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.
- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...
- Do you hear a storm? A giant, power-altering storm has been ravaging part of the planet for a month. It shows ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? More information can be found here.
- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.
- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...
Network, Video;
It does, thank god. Otherwise, I would be dead by now, long since.
Are the stars visible here, at night? I miss staring at the stars. used to do it with my dad, until he turned into a douche-canoe.
Also, where are you from, sir doctor Altair sir.
Network, Video;
[Altair is strong in the Force, after all. Strong enough to where someone with those powers but without his control would pose a challenge.]
Honestly being able to look at things is something of a new development for me, so I couldn't tell you.
[Not something he's spent time doing, especially since he's been afraid to take his veil off for a long time.] I'm from a place called the Sith Empire. I imagine that doesn't tell you all too much.
... If we're speaking planets, my home planet is called Dromund Kaas.
network, Video;
Heh. it does not.
[ He slumps to his back completely as he listens. ] Dunno either the empire or the planet. but that is okay.
Did you like living there? Was it fun?
Network, Video;
[Any residual fear aside.]
It was awful, at first. There's a lot about the Empire I'd like to change- but that is for the future, not something that I need to be concerned about now.
... I do love Dromund Kaas though- even with the constant rain and thunder.
Network, Video;
I really hope you are close, doc. I am feeling a little faint.
Why is the sky spinning?
That sounds... sounds nice. the rain and thunder, I mean. Always liked those...
Network, Video;
[And true enough, there he comes, a white and blue blur coming around the corner, and he skids to a halt when he sees him, moving over to assess the damage.
Being able to suddenly feel things through the Force will probably be weird for the man, but it's not like there's anything either of them can do about that.
And it's good Altair had enough foresight to bring some things with him for emergency treatment on the spot.]
Re: Network, Video;
"Fuck doc, can you sense like this all the time?" of course, he knew the answer, but he was also wounded and hurting and not thinking straight.
He had been stabbed by a spear, right through his chest, and somehow it ran through his body, and out the other side, missing every major organ, but nicking thing a little. He was bleeding internally some, but it could be managed by a good doc. He needs fluids, blood, and to have the holes on both sides of his body patched up.

He didn't really need to do a whole lot of examination to know what was wrong, though the medical knowledge helped quite a bit.
He got to work stabilizing him with what he had on hand, wondering if he even had everything he needed to patch him up. Once they got back to the hospital, he'd need to either make a call to the rest of Agra 10's population or see if he can't find some machine that will synthesize the type of blood the man needs.
"We're going to need to move you to the hospital once I've stabilized your condition. I won't ask you to walk, so I'm going to ask you to trust that I can carry you."
Physically he didn't seem capable of it, given his extremely short stature and that he was underweight, but with the Force it was possible.

He kept his hands, both physical and mental, down and nodded to the other man. "I trust you. I can sense that you can do this."
He was also loopy and chuckled.
"I may pass out, so, like, no worries?"
He took a breath, fear stabbing into him now.
"Tell me..." He coughed, and then groaned in pain. "tell me something you actually like about this place?" There was an element of pleading in his voice that he hated hearing and making, but he could not help it. He was afraid.

"I'll try my best not to," He said, looking to him with a slight smile, before looking back at what he was doing.
"I like the greenhouse. There's so many plants there- unfamiliar and new and interesting and beautiful. There are people from different worlds than mine and I love learning about their homes. I've made many friends here, more than I thought I would. I also fell in love here. Despite everything, even this place isn't all bad."

There are good things here, was what he meant. Things to struggle to survive for- even here, even on Agra 10. He could tell that the other man was scared to die, but hope is a better motivator than fear. So Altair tries to give some hope, necessary or not, welcome or not. It's better than giving nothing at all.
"Maybe I could show you around when we've got you on your feet again."
no subject
"I would like that. If I am stuck here, then I might as well be useful."

There will be time to heal, then time to network and get to know the place. Altair took his time too, getting to know the place. He doesn't expect anyone to work if they don't want to, or before they've truly wrapped their head around the situation.
"Regardless, it's something to look forward to, getting to know the prettier places."
He finished doing as much as he could to stabilize his condition. Now came the more difficult part, "I'm going to pick you up so we can go to the hospital now, alright?"
no subject
But he lay still as long as the other man was working. When he said that last part, he took several deep breaths, but nodded.
"Do it."
