Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!

This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.

A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.

If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.

Thread ideas:

- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.

- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...

- Do you hear a storm? A giant, power-altering storm has been ravaging part of the planet for a month. It shows ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? More information can be found here.

- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.

- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...

Close enough to hear the comment about the X-Men, Lorna lets out a short laugh. That's a whole ass mood if she ever heard one.

"I haven't been here long, but ... long enough to know that, for once, it actually isn't something the X-Men are responsible for." She's not above admitting that sometimes, they're very good at making messes.

Clavin jumped, groaned, and turned, then stared.

"Holy shit. As I live and breathe, as bare as that is, if it isn't Lorna fucking Dane." he abruptly sits.

"Er, hi." he waves a hand a little weakly.

"Are you sure?" Because, well, he is never sure.

"The one and only." She gives a half smile. "For once, yeah. And it's not even Mojo, either ... small victories?" Again, she doesn't have the highest bar of standards. "I'm probably the worst welcoming committee, but I can try to give answers for anything you wanna know about it here."

"Good. I really hate that guy. person. Thing." He stares at her. He can feel her powers flowing into his matrix, and he cannot even fight it right now. Thankfully, the knowledge of how to use them comes with, so the whole area does not go crazy.

"How long have you been here? And is the download thinger right?"

"A little over a month. Ish." In other words, not long at all. "Do you mean the data points?"

"Yeahhhhh, those things." He wobbles, but keeps going.

"Are they accurate?"

A pause.

"Wait, there are more than one?"

"A-yup. I 'downloaded' the pilot one, but there's like...agriculture, medical, et cetera. It covers a lot of what we need here, but maybe not everything."

"Nice. I guess I should check one out." He rubbed his head, wincing.

"It's weird how quiet it is in my head."

"That usually never means anything good in our world. Having things in your head, I mean." She definitely speaks from experience -- some very public experiences at that, too. "En...joy it while you can?"

He snerks.

"I... will try. But for me, it is the absence of knowledge I have had for twenty years almost."

He shakes his head. "Not easy to get used to."

"Fair point." She nods slightly. "Things definitely work different here, so I guess it's the need for needing this place's set of rules." Doesn't make it fun, she knows.

He nods back, then grins a little.

"I'm looking forward to an adventure far away from people trying to use me for my powers or as a battery."

"That's a big mood. But yeah, so far it seems like..not a lot of that going on. For whatever my few weeks is worth."

"Oh, well, maybe soon, then. Why else would they summon us like this?"

Now Calvin is confused.

"To fuck with us?"

You know, the usual, she means.

He snorts, and nods. "You may be right."

He shakes his head.

"Its good to see you, Lorna."

"Not many people say that about my face anywhere." She adds with a half smile.

"Well, that is silly of them. You're smart, strong, and you've got more experience and potential than most people combined. And you've never been anything but kind to me." He nods firmly as he staggers along.

"Don't let the idiots get you down."
