Spring Test Drive Meme!
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.
- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...
- Do you hear a storm? A giant, power-altering storm has been ravaging part of the planet for a month. It shows ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? More information can be found here.
- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.
- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...

Still, there are things he can handle here, and he figures, given the history his family has at fucking up the lives of mutants, he does sorta owe their population a solid in a general sense. So he raises his arms in a miming of carrying someone. An offer of a lift. His body can handle the run right now, after all.
“I can get you to right hospital. Normally I’d offer a Maximoff witch for healing but given who you are? Well, I’ve got a preference to keeping the number of reality warping mutants low.”
Not that he thinks the guy could copy this Wanda’s powers. Then again he wasn’t really sure how the dude’s powers worked so he could be wrong.

Not to mention he might just beak himself while breaking reality, and that would suck.
He groans as he shifts up to a more normal position and nods.
"Please. Once I am in the hospital and unconscious, my body should shut town the matrix and stop copying things, but if I pass out before we get there... tell them. No powered people near me. Not of any kind."
He stresses it, voice hoarse, faint and his whole body trembling with the need to pass out, but also to stay conscious long enough to pass on his warning. fuck. He hates being weak. He hates being like his dad.

Well, when the reality warper in question is the Demiurge, Scarlet Witch’s transgressions seem so small.
“That’s gonna be an issue, no powered people. I’ll see what I can do. Maybe I’ll drag someone like Sansa over time get the medical datapoint.”
Between Jedi, Sith, Mutants, aliens, and force users, there aren’t a lot of non-powered options.Calvin is gonna have a hell of a time here. Hopefully the storm was dampening him too. Still, he will have to risk letting the guy get more speedster perks to get him to the hospital. So with permission granted he picks Calvin up. Takes some doing to find a comfortable position but he will figure it out.
“Close your eyes. I hear it helps.”

He groans as he lays back. "Please. I don't want to hurt anyone, and if I am half in and half out, I have no idea how my powers might react." They change every damn time he turns around. Once again, he curses his father.
"That's what I get for having my genome altered by an idiot." he closes his eyes again.
Calvin nods and keeps his eyes closed. "You power and how to use it are in my head, and normally that would help, but right now... yeah. I'm in your hands."
And he expects, really, to be dumped off a cliff. It's his default expectation from the x-men, other heroes, and from villains too, anymore. That's what happens when you start as a hero, become a villain, then switch sides and save the world a time or two before going into hiding. No one trusts you again.

Frankly, another person might dump the guy over a cliff. He's a bit of a mess to have to deal with. But Tommy? Tommy gets second chances. Third chances. Seventh chances. Everyone gets one with him before he will drop them off a cliff. Except absolute unrepentant asshole villains. And he guesses this guy doesn't count as one because he's done the good thing before.
So it's like three steps and he's away from where they are and bursting through the doors of the hospital, just like that. Long enough to speedster senses, but still fast.
"You can open them now. Gonna find a place to put you down."

Most days, really.
Opening his eyes, the world whirls around him as he looks up, so he squints some. He is still alive. Huhn. "Thank you. are there any needles and thread?" Because if he had to, he could sew up the front wound. Not so much the back, but that was what telekinesis was for, right? Maybe after he slept. Maybe.
no subject
"Well, most of our thread is either thick twine or some sort of fancy stitching stuff, so that won't work. But we're supposed to have bottles of stuff that are good for wounds. I can go check really quick, but you have to promise not to die while I'm gone."
no subject
"I appreciate it, a lot. All of it. And, you know, I will try not to. I'd rather not." Not that he regrets for a moment what he had done in saving Scott, but he very much wants to live.
no subject
But with that Tommy’s gone. And soon gone by enough distance that perhaps Calvin was starting to lose the powers. It takes a while, even for him, to search a ruined hospital. After a minute and a half he’s back, though, holding a can of what looks like a Starbucks Frappuccino
Cup, but with buttons on it.
“So this thing is supposed to squirt out some healing foam that is supposed to take care of most superficial stuff? It may help with the bleeding? I think? I don’t know. I don’t have the medical datapoint. Turns out farming is more my speed.”
no subject
As Tommy comes back, Calvin groans and eyes him. "Still useful. Help me pour it on the front and back?" He reaches out for the can, his hand shaking.

Not that he has opinions. Okay, he has a TON of opinions.

"Well, he might have been. But he is now."
