Spring Test Drive Meme!
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.
- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...
- Do you hear a storm? A giant, power-altering storm has been ravaging part of the planet for a month. It shows ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? More information can be found here.
- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.
- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...
Bucky Barnes | MCU
[ The hanger is slightly quieter than the city. He appreciates that, honestly, as much as he appreciates the lack of people milling around. Considering how overpopulated the hotel is, he's decided to branch out on living options. Which is why he's here, looking at the ships. Spaceships. Ships that fly through space. Some undefined part of his brain is going bonkers right now, even if he doesn't quite remember why.
In the relative silence, it's just enough to examine the closest one. From the outside, initially, making a wide circle and mentally noting anything that looks a little off in terms of potential hazards. The alarming part is trying to open the hatch on a whim - and then having it open. He steps back automatically, bracing for something weird or dangerous to come outside. But, when nothing does, he makes a choice and steps inside.]
Hello?
TWO: Can We Have Readable Maps
[ Exploring the populated environs is a chore best left for times when other people aren't around as much, which leaves late at night or early in the morning. Since stumbling around ruined buildings in near-complete darkness is probably a stupid idea, he's opted for wandering around at dawn. When there's just enough light for his enhanced senses to work without strain.
Don't mind the standoff-ish soldier poking around the hospital, looking for supplies, or scowling at the building that might be a jail, trying to figure out if it's worth entering and searching for weapons. ]
THREE: Wildcard
[ Have an idea? Toss it here ]
Two
So coming around the corner he stopped seeing a... Somewhat familiar face. But he doubted immediately that it was the one he knew, or at least knew of.
After all, anyone at all who'd been here a while would know to merely reach out to him should they need help.
Both brows raised, the small alien man crossed his arms as he regarded the intruder, "Anything I can help you with?"
no subject
"Just looking around," is his initial reply. The man half turns from where he's inspecting one of the wall boxes, watching the stranger from beneath a scruffy curtain of hair. "is that a problem?"
no subject
There was no bite or anger to his words- it was what it was. And there was also no aggression in his body language, nor anger, nor anything truly negative besides perhaps just a little bit of wariness at meeting a stranger in the halls of the hospital at this hour.
"I do work here as a healer. And as a healer, I believe it to be my duty to ensure I have what I need to treat patients when they come in. Wouldn't you agree then, that it is wise for me to keep an eye on all who might wander in whose intentions I do not know?"
no subject
"Are all supplies stocked here, or are some distributed around?" If nothing else, he can get a little intel.
no subject
Still, if he was snooping around and asking these questions, it meant that this man was a new addition to their little community. Altair wasn't sure if the man seemed skittish or what, but he kept his distance for now, body language relaxed, to get across that he meant no harm.
He could, should the need arise. But at 4'8" and underweight, he didn't exactly need to do much to appear as less than a threat than he was, either.
Altair was much more interested in keeping the peace, of course.
"Is there anything you need? Are you sick, or injured, perhaps?"
no subject
"No." And nothing else, like that is the entirety of what he means to say. But then, a few moments later. "What constitutes an emergency?" IE, when are supplies given out?
no subject
"If our situation takes a turn for the more dangerous, I'd consider that an emergency. We are after all here to play heroes- plenty of risk in that. If someone is sick or injured, I'd give out supplies from the hospital as well- not everyone wants to come in, after all."
Their supplies weren't exactly plentiful, and Altair did what he could in the hospital, to make sure they had what they needed should things take a turn for the worse. There was much in the hospital he still needed to catalog as well, plenty that still needed doing, even if he'd tidied, cleaned, cataloged and repaired much already.
"If you'd like some medical supplies to take along should you be adverse to being treated by someone else..."
Well, Altair was reasonably sure he put together something of a first-aid kit. He was a healer who wasn't supposed to be a healer, that was true. Sith were weapons more than anything else. But Altair was filling the role and ready to tend to anyone on Agra 10 who got hurt- ready to help, as well.

The word barely has time to reverberate through the ship before Tommy's standing there, in the door on the other side of the cargo bay, frowning when he sees Bucky.]
Yo. Definitely don't remember you being on this cohort. You new? Or did the Agrii mix us up again.
[OOC: For purposes of TDM, going to treat it like there isn't another Bucky around so that Tommy won't recognize Bucky from him and be awkward. <3]
no subject
New. [ Because that's the only relevant information, right? ]
(ooc: thank you, that's very kind!)
no subject
[He moves forward, at normal human pace, to offer his hand.]
Tommy Shepherd. Gonna warm you now, I may look human but I’m not. People tend to flinch when I use my mutant powers so, yeah. Fair warning. I run in excess of Mach 4. Don’t be surprised if I seem to appear out of nowhere. Who are you?
[Friendliness is not something he’s genuinely great at, but he is trying.]
[ooc: if you choose to app I would hope to dm you to discuss canon-awareness and all that]
no subject
Soldat comes to mind the most readily, but that word comes with a lot of head-splitting baggage. So does 'Bucky'. And Barnes, along with the other ones from the museum. ]
Soldier, [ he finally states, gingerly extending his right hand - after a long look at Tommy's - to complete the shake. ]
no subject
Oh, we're going with work names? Then you can call me Speed. Welcome to the crew, Soldier. You got any skills? Wanna tour? It's free.
no subject
A tour is fine. [ although it's not offered very decisively. ]
no subject
Come on then, Soldier-boy. So, this is the hanger. That's the treadmill. Ther'es only the one.
One
The voice. He knows that voice. Even from word, he knows it. Steve almost drops his bowl as he walks closer and searches out the ghost he thinks is here. Sure enough, standing there, Steve walks right into a vision from the past.
Again. ]
Bucky?
Re: One
He does not flinch at the use of that name. (Just barely.) ]
Captain.
no subject
Soldier?
[He doesn't know what else to say in response. Bucky clearly isn't the right name, here.]
You just arrive?
Two: At the hospital
Should he turn around and look then the cat will freeze, staring at him with wide golden eyes and staying that way until he looks away. Following him from room to room, the cat settles down at the doorway each time, watching silently as Bucky explores.
Gemini's sizing up exactly what he's up to before introducing herself properly.]
