Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!

This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.

A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.

If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.

Thread ideas:

- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.

- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...

- Do you hear a storm? A giant, power-altering storm has been ravaging part of the planet for a month. It shows ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? More information can be found  here.

- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.

- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...

I mostly just go by Speed. B goes by Wiccan. We use the name when it matters but, eh. You don't go with it?

[There is no one else here who could see and process fast enough to see the flicker of pain and grief that the name Genosha inspires in Tommy. He’s run that island, seen the ruins. And prays this Tommy’s version is safer.]

Well no one calls him Magnus where I’m from. He’s Magneto or Erik or Lehnsherr. And the family definitely isn’t a united front. Damn, you almost make it sound like that House of M stuff that Cap and Stark briefed us on when they got nervy over how powerful B’s magic was getting.

Of all the alternate worlds in all of the multiverse, a House of M just had to waltz into mine. Well not mine mine. Fucking cool. You’re a Prince then. And you’ve always had Billy around? Not sure whether to pity you or what.

We met around three years ago, B and I. Things are a bit complicated in our world. I’m Tommy Shepherd from New Jersey. Yeah, I know. Shitty place. And Billy’s a Kaplan from New York. Basically magic blah blah blah retroreincarnation blah complicated soul shit blah blah.

Domains? Nah man, just different states. We’re just lucky to be alive after Mephisto killed baby Thomas and William. No one coulda expected our souls to survive and be thrown into the past either by Mom’s magic. Or maybe by the Demiurge. Given future-past Billy probably has a vested interest in making sure he’s born. So, you know, born to two different families but still completely identical beyond the normal color and power shit.

Okay, I’ve gotta explain a whole thing here. What I say, you never fucking repeat where the Wanda here can hear it. Got it? Ever. We don’t talk about it because this Wanda doesn’t have the chaos magic. She can’t warp reality. And she doesn’t need Mom’s grief on her hands. Tell her, and I will find a way to beat you down so hard that I’ll feel it.

[With that he takes a deep breath and launches into an abbreviated version of the fall of the Avengers and the House of M. He leaves out the meeting the Young Avengers and the hunting for Wanda thing. One traumatic story at a time. And by the end he looks uncomfortable.]

And that, I guess, explains you. Tommy fucking Magnus. The me that gets to grow up with his Mom and his twin. Maybe Pops too? I don’t know. Is Vision part of the royal family? Can’t see Grampneto being happy about his daughter having kids with a synthezoid.

Seriously? Petey and Gramps need to deal with their damn issues. And Pietro PROBABLY needs to get good and laid or something. Axed them how? Because anything short of death B can probably fix. Comes from being a godling apparently.

He teamed up with Atlantis, so maybe he's boning Namor. Screwed over the peace treaties they were supposedly signing and just stormed the palace. And, dude, M Wiccan isn't that strong. He's still figuring out how to teleport.

Which puts us in a shitty situation. There's a pretty good chance once Namor is done with Pietro he's going to bump us off - Pietro's not even in line for the throne anymore.

Word choice, man. For all you know they screwed on the peace treaties. Still, shocked. Namor May be working with mutants some back home but this is a bit much. He is totally going to double cross Pietro.

Nah. I bet he is that strong. But you live a cushy life. He ain’t had a reason to use the really powerful shit so there is like, self doubt or something. It’s all about belief and will. He doesn’t believe it yet. So you just keep B close, maybe bring some big building down on Pietro with an explosion, and he’ll manage. He always does. Our bro is fucking reliable.

He's got beef with granddad. Atlantis and the Monarchy don't get along and never had, and like, there's not enough distinction between us for it to be a different Domain so any war is sanctioned.

And, yeah, probably. His self esteem blows and he's usually a strong wind away from an anxiety attack. He's got the power to be strong but he always screws himself over in the last minute. [ he sounds fond. But worried. And then more worried as he realizes that there's a solid chance his brother isn't here, and that he left him in what is to be a warzone all alone. ] ... He better not be back there by himself.

Fish-King has beef with everyone. Except, you know, no actual beef. Unless there are sea cows. And not the manatee type. Are there sea cows?

From what I get of this place and how it works, that shouldn’t be a problem. I mean, yeah, he might be back there and by himself, but the world sorta... waits for us? Like our Teddy? From a bit in the future of us. And I’m from three days in the future of where my Billy is from. But that didn’t mean I didn’t get fucking texts from him back home when he’s technically here.

I think... when we go home we go home to when wer’e from. So he’ll be okay.

[Strange, that he’s sorta comforting himself. But come on, who better to? He knows exactly what’s eating at him. The fear that Billy can’t do for himself. That Tommy’s going to let him down when all he wants to do is protect Billy. At least... at least That Billy would accept Tommy protecting him. This Tommy is trying to get used to the whole idea that maybe his brother wants him around.]
