Spring Test Drive Meme!
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.
- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...
- Do you hear a storm? A giant, power-altering storm has been ravaging part of the planet for a month. It shows ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? More information can be found here.
- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.
- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...

Agent, most of us tend to keep with normal buisness. I've been helping making sure the city is prepped for the storm and that everything vital is secured. Any particular dangerous areas have been roped off as best as possible.
Video;
As normal as it can be, you mean, or is being kidnapped by strange aliens and having information downloaded into your brain just another day of the week for you?
[There's a gentle hint of snark to his words, but no real bite.] So what do you consider vital anyway? Food source? Water source? [How would one go about securing a water source, anyway? Put a tarp over it?]
Shelter? Not a lot of that around, is there? I've seen war zones in better condition.
[That's a bit of a stretch, maybe. But still. There are a lot of buildings standing, but calling them proper shelter, that's definitely a stretch.]
You call it normal business though, this storm, and the things you do for amusement during? Or is keeping occupied with normal business more of a general statement for when the world isn't coming crashing down?
Video;
As for shelter, food, and water we have all of those. We also have electricity and a hospital. The run down buildings make it hard to decipher if it's habitual. I have an inn/kitchen if you are looking for food and a place to rest. Otherwise people just take an abandoned building and claim it as their own.
I particularly don't have a source of entertainment...hobby. But I can't speak for the others here. Yes, keeping occupied with normal buisness a general statement.
[Eli had to make a note of this as it seems there were a few hangs up the other appeared to have much like Thrawn's when he first got to know him.]
Video;
[More of that gentle snark, just barely in his tone, and further punctuated by a slight raise of his brow.]
Suppose I won't lack for work, once the storm passes. A run-down building is going to need to be repaired on to make it livable. [He's going to have to find tools, things to clean with. Stars, he hopes there's things to clean with or he'll flip.]
Pass on the place to rest, though. Might drop by for food, I'm starving already. Though I might wait until I'm sure I won't drown out there.
Lack of entertainment though... [He sighs.] Guess we're going to have to go back to basics. Any knives around?
Video;
There's a place further in the city where you can gather supplies. But they're old and need a lot of work. That's where most go to find various tools other items. Or there is a request box the Agri have and they might supply the item....But be careful on how you word things. They might not understand fully what you mean.
[There was a hint of amusement there.]
We're almost caveman basics here save for some outdated technology compared to my time period.
Video;
So long as I've got a knife, I can manage some amusement. Strange how none of you seem to have thought about making playing cards or some sort of board game, if you're so starved for entertainment.
[Maybe they truly are so focused on survival only, on being utilitarian.]
I wouldn't call some of the things I've seen outdated so much as having deteriorated over time, or perhaps not much time at all, given the storms.
The data points seem a touch more advanced than anything at home, at least.
Video;
Well most of us are more focused on trying to survive to think about entertainment I suppose. Once we just got settled in this storm started to happen.
You do have a point. I chose the agriculture one knowing that people need food and well data anaylsis won't help much here. Granted I still collect any information I find.
Video;
[He can relate.] Still, if all you're doing is surviving, then I worry for everyone's mental health.
A man can't live on the very basics of survival for long before something goes wrong. Doesn't matter if the mind belongs to a human or an alien- something is bound to snap.
