A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.

If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.

Thread ideas:

- Explore the city! There's a map here and a bit more description of some of the buildings here. Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working, but power is intermittent and unreliable. The hotel seems to be the most crowded, but you might want into what appears to be an abandoned storefront and find someone else scavenging or even sleeping.

- There are spaceships! That's right, there are currently several small spaceships grounded in the hangar. They appear to have power, but only one ship will let you enter. (For test drive purposes, the ship that will let you enter is up to you, so just pick whichever name appeals, and go for it!) The other ships won't open for you, but it might be worth poking around the one that will...

- Do you hear a storm? A giant, power-altering storm has been ravaging part of the planet for a month. It shows ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? More information can be found here.

- Can you hear me now? Upon arrival, your character will have on their person a small, handheld communications device. Maybe they know exactly how to use a computer, smartphone, or tablet, and immediately blast out a text or video trying to figure out what's going on. Or maybe they're not so tech-savvy after all, and everyone is about to get a lovely shot right up your character's left nostril.

- Wildcard! You're welcome to use any previous test drive scenarios or previous game events as a basis for a thread/situation, or simply make up your own! Keep in mind that you're currently stranded on a planet with only basic necessities, but there is enough food and fresh water. Creature comforts, however, seem to be distinctly lacking...

Well, Tommy isn't going to be the wet blanket on that specific front. But he frowns at the idea of an American Pietro. Part of what made his uncle his uncle was the guy's experiences. Part of what had brought Pietro to the side of good had no doubt been the injustice visited upon him.

"Pietro's father a German Jew, and escaped Auschwitz as a teen," Tommy explains, his voice soft and nervous. He hasn't even told Wanda this much. Frankly, he isn't certain she can handle the psychic weight of it all. Of what that other Wanda had been through and how she could be of that sort of history and fail her family so. "And his mother was a Romani woman from Poland. You can imagine what it was like for them growing up, in the face of Nazis."

And here was Pietro Maximoff who worked with Nazis. Even if Tommy thought he could understand why, it left a bad taste in his mouth.

That certainly gives him pause. It's a very different background than the one he knows of his own parents, and Pietro frowns.

"Our parents were born after the war." After that war, at least. There always seemed to be some war or other Sokovia was caught between, as far back as he can remember.

At the very least, in Pietro's defense, when List, and Strucker had first appeared in Sokovia, it was under the banner of SHIELD. It wasn't until later they learned who and what they really were, though Pietro had still been prepared to use them to achieve their goals in the end.

Yeah, well, Tommy can do little more than shrug.

"Like I said, different universes. You've gotta understand, them multiverse is a fucking mess. It changes things in a lot of ways. In my world, you're born as the fastest man alive. You get passed, because fuck if we are ever allowed to exist without being overshadowed, but you were the fastest man alive. And you end up living in America and all sorts of shit happens."

God, even thinking about it is a headache. Life can be a bit of a mess, can't it? Tommy knows it better than many. But, at least there is one positive going on.

"You're closer to your Wanda than my Pietro is to his Wanda. At least, at the moment."

That seems to cause a pang of hurt, imagining any kind of version of he and his sister that aren't as closer as they are, and no matter how Tommy continues to emphasis that this is a whole other universe, it doesn't stop Pietro from worrying the same will happen to them.

"I think I prefer my world to yours."

The guy doesn't listen. Oh god, was this what it was like to deal with Tommy? Fuck, talk about a reality check.

"I think I prefer your world to mine too, even if I don't exist in your world."

Even if he can never exist in Pietro's world.

Oh Tommy, you surpass him in that as well as you do speed.

"I'm sure you could, give her a few years," Pietro argues kindly, not too eager for Wanda to run off without him and start her own family.

Shots fired. Shots fucking fired. Good thing Pietro doesn't know about that vulnerability. But he wants to laugh at the very idea of Wanda having kids.

"You haven't asked who my father is yet," Tommy counters.

"Mm..." Pietro nods, and that may be something he's not exactly eager to get to. "Do I know him?" he asks. He does note that Tommy's supposed first last name had been Maximoff, which leaves him with few clues.

"Depends. Did you ever meet Vision?"

Because he expects the guy did, if Vision fought Ultron like his Pops had told him. Grats, Pietro. Way to know your sister and a robot are totally a thing that happens.

"..." If the look of confused shock is anything to go off of, yes, yes he has.

"...How-?" he finally grasps. Could Vision really- ?

Yeah. The question for the ages there. Tommy smirks.

"Do you need me to tell you about the birds and the bees, Pietro? And here I thought you'd know about it already."

Oh yes, he can be an asshole. And he turns down another road, knowing they're nearing the place where his twin and Teddy awaited. Which meant he'd be losing Pietro's company soon. To be expected.

He scoffs, rolling his eyes. He most definitely does not need that explained to him, thank you.

"I believe that is my job, as Uncle, is it not?"

Oh god, he really thinks that? Tommy can't help but laugh.

"Dude, I already have first hand knowledge of birds and bees. It's fine. No awkwardness with a guy you just met."

"That so?" Pietro looks almost proud, and gives a snort of amusement, "You really do take after your Uncle, don't you?" he teases.

Tommy snorts right back, shaking his head.

"After you? Maybe. After my Uncle? Hell no. Guy is old and angry at the world. and definitely too crotchety to get laid."

Nose wrinkling, Pietro isn't thrilled to think there's some version of him out there that would be described as any of those things.

"You say those things to his face too?"

He would, if Pietro was ever around.

"And if I did? Got a problem with me being honest that he's sorta a pain? Don't see how his lameness impacts you."

Hell, he already likes this Pietro worlds better.
