SUMMER TEST DRIVE MEME

SUMMER TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Summer in Temba and Sh'Ka
In Sh'Ka there's plenty of places to beat the heat. The stone buildings actually manage to keep the heat out pretty good, and there's also a lot of shade under the large stone trees. But maybe it isn't wise to hang out under the trees, as the local Deleon population is in herding part of the year. It is rare for them to gather as a herd, but when they do it's to protect their young. This makes them way more riled up and likely to attack anything they deem as a threat.
Or perhaps when it comes to beating the heat the best thing to do is seek shelter with others. The Diner in off of the square in Temba is usually open, with food laid out buffet style if you aren't lucky enough to catch one of the local He Rows who run it. There's also the Deep End, a bar in the towers in southeastern Temba where the alcohol is mostly free to access. Just remember not to bother the Colonel and you'll be fine. Maybe you can even pretend you're under water thanks to the wall of the space that is glass and looks into the water that fills the core of the tower complex, complete with local aquatic life.

Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working and power has been restored to be reliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has proven to be home to verious harmful creatures; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.

There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Volcanic Panic
In The Warrens
There are plenty of corridors and dead end rooms to explore, and even more people to meet. But the question is how you're going to pass your time while sheltering from the dangers of the volcano above. Do you know any games? Are you setting up a talent show? Or maybe you're just looking for as much information as you can find. It's all up to you.

“Steve thought the Agrii might need peanuts.” Or a ‘reverse allergy’, as he’d called it.
no subject
She should probably ask who Steve is but she's sure she'll be meeting plenty of people and Link will surely tell her if there's anyone she needs to meet.
no subject
Not anywhere, in fact. He hadn't found any while out exploring, and there weren't any in the Agriculture building. The Agrii seemed to be the only ones who had them.
no subject
"Perhaps there's some other reason they seem set on giving you peanut butter soup."
no subject
Zelda will probably figure it out, though. She’s smart, like that.
Right now, though, Link looks around them. Then looks back at Zelda, with a faint expression of inquisitive expectation. Where does Zelda want to go now? To the library? Or somewhere else?
no subject
Which is closer, she wonders before pulling up the map again to determine the distance. It's quite clear which is closer.
"I think we'll start with the agriculture building." She says smoothly.
no subject
It's a building made of plants, after all. He can collect so many flowers from there. Not to mention, something else he knows Zelda will love.
"There's another datapoint," he says. "Lets you know all the plants."
no subject
"Oh." She responds, intrigued. She could instantly know which plants were which and it's always a good idea to know what plants are around. She'll have to look into it.
She waits a moment before starting off in the direction of the building, not wanting to be too far ahead of Link. She'd much prefer the company of walking side by side.
no subject
Before, Link was always behind Zelda. Several feet back. Never alongside, never in front. Like a silent shadow, even after their relationship improved.
Now, however, Link's movement is much more less regular.
Sometimes, he walks alongside her. Sometimes he runs a few feet in front, eager to check out something up ahead. Sometimes he runs off to any old direction - which usually has him soon coming back, with a butterfly or lizard or flower in his hands to show her.
And sometimes, briefly, he walks a few feet behind her. Like old muscle memory takes over sometimes, before he's even aware of it. But those moments don't tend to last long.
no subject
It's nice to see him so excited about things. It makes her feel like her heart is swelling in her chest. "You're certainly full of energy." She comments, amusement in her voice.
no subject
And it's okay, Zelda. Until she has the Agriculture datapoint for herself, Link will tell her their names.
Soon enough however, they're at the Agriculture building. "Here!" Link says, gesturing towards it. He knows that even before they get inside, the construction of it alone will interest Zelda - with it's completely transparent walls.
no subject
"But that's-" She starts to voice as she moves over one of the walls in question to get a really good look at it. It's like the building is made of large windows and practically nothing else.
It seems very efficient as all the plants she sees inside all seem perfectly healthy and so many curious plants around as well!
no subject
After a few moments, when he thinks she looks ready to move on, he asks; "Want to go in?"
no subject
She offers him a small smile and a nod before she heads into the building in question to get yet, another closer look at all the plants. Link had said there was a data point in here, perhaps she should look into that first.
no subject
…Which could present a problem. Because the only way up there is by the far-too-large stairs, which are going to give Link many, many opportunities to get distracted on the way.
There’s a lot in this building that he wants to show her.
no subject
"Well, I suppose if it's the only way, I'll need you to give me a boost." She tells him.
no subject
He doesn't actually use them all that much. It's often easier for him to just...climb. Usually on the outside of the building, but sometimes up through stair and elevator shafts as well.
But that's not something Zelda can do.
"...I could carry you?" he suggests.
no subject
Did he just offer to carry her? She fights very hard to hide the way her heart might have just done a somersault and glances over at him to see if he's serious. There's not reason to think he's not, she supposes and goodness! Does her face feel warm.
"Oh. I-I suppose. If that's the best option." She says, sounding a little stiff and not meeting his eyes.
no subject
He turns around. Crouches down on the ground, where it will be easy for Zelda to climb onto his back.
Time to begin the 'carry Zelda up to the top floor' quest.
no subject
She moves over closer to him and climbs up on his back, wrapping her arms loosely around his neck.
no subject
...oh.
Oh no.
Link...did not think this through.
There's a moment there where Link doesn't move. Zelda can't see his wide eyes, but she absolutely will be able to see the tips of his ears turning a distinct shade of pink.
Right. He just...needs to climb up the stairwell. With Zelda on his back. Okay. He...he can do this. He can't let her down. Figuratively and literally.
He takes a deep breath. Carefully stands up.
"Um," he says. Wait, no, that's not what he needs to say. "...Hold on." There, that's what he meant to say.
And then he starts to climb.
no subject
"Right." Zelda nods at his prompting and wraps her legs around him to ensure she won't fall off. While he's climbing she'll try and keep her mind on other things like how beautiful the plants are and not how Link is able climb so well with her on his back.
no subject
(He fails, miserably, at thinking about nothing else.)
But even while rather distracted - and with ears that remain pink for the entire time - Link does indeed manage to climb up. All the way up, to the very top of the stairs. Thank Hylia for climbing being second nature at this point.
When they get there, and he crouches down on the top floor so Zelda can hop off...Link's not sure if he wishes the climb had been shorter, or longer.
no subject
"Thank you." She says a little stiffly, she doesn't trust her knees to not to buckle should he try to walk at the moment.
She chances taking a glance down to see how far he'd climbed before another thought occurs to her-they still have to get back down.
no subject
"This way," he says, before he starts walking - quickly - to where he knows the datapoint is.
At least the way down should be easier. They can just jump down each of the stairs, after all.
