FALL TEST DRIVE MEME

FALL TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Fall in Temba and Sh'Ka
Temba seems almost peaceful, breathing out a sigh of relief after its near destruction. Just southeast of the city one finds signs of the damage in greater evidence. The recent lava flows have taken out large stretches of vegetation, replacing them with fresh volcanic rock left bare at the surface. In some places there's even residual heat given off, especially closer to the volcano that now rests as an unending reminder of what was nearly lost. Meanwhile in the city itself the plants that would normally provide a natural abundance outside of the domain of the greenhouse seem to offer scant pickings, perhaps a result of the intense heat of the summer.
Meanwhile in Sh'Ka fall proves to be a threat, though in a new way this year than in any before. The danger derives from the Blood Vines near the train station. Apparently ash-rich soil only feeds the vampiric plant, and its spines are larger than ever as its vines lie hidden under the mounds of ash, ready for any unsuspecting prey.
Explore
Despite having been protected from being destroyed by the volcano itself and unlike Sh'Ka not having been buried in vast amopunts of ash, Temba still suffered notable damage from the earthquakes that came with the volcano's eruption. Previously restored buildings were damaged and others entirely caved in on themselves leaving them beyond any hope for restoration. The streets and paths are even worse to traverse than they used to be but for what it's worth water and electricity are still working. Most of the time.
Needless to say, exploring is more risky these days as buildings may still cave in without warning and seemingly solid roads may crack open to drop anunsuspecting wanderer into underground caves left behind by the quakes.
And yet the city can still be explored. If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Now what's happening with the hangar?!
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

"But there was this sports day thing a few months back, and I used the points I built up to buy clothes."
A lot of clothes. Some for work, some not. Listen, Tae was a clothes horse. Not much of it really goes with the whole cheerleader vibe of course. Her stuff is more punk than that, but she can offer something to the newcomer. What she's wearing can't be comfortable full time.
"I've been here a bit, but I'm a properly trained doctor back home. I have my degrees and credentials from a very lofty university in Tokyo. Even have my own practice and work in medical research. So the good news is that I really can tell you that I don't think an infection is likely. If you have any other concerns I can address those as well."

“Bummer I missed a sports day; I could have been an extra cheerleader for everyone.” That's about where her sports skills start and end (although, she could probably bullshit her way through gymnastics since cheerleading is so similar in terms of movements needed).
“Whoa, that's — really cool.” She means it too. The woman clearly knew what she was doing, but degrees and credentials plural? Hell yeah. But she pauses for a few seconds, unsure if she wants to actually say more, though eventually she does. “I ... don't think any of my recent issues that aren't scrapes from being too eager with the running are going to be found in any medical books.”

"There were plenty of non-sport sports, so you could have gotten tokens for clothes and the like. But I did lay in quite a supply, especially since unlike the guys there aren't a lot of women around to swap clothes with if you get bored with something."
So yes, she could help Chrissy a little bit without really undercutting her own ability to be comfortable. Not that she was ready for winter. That she'd have to plan for.
"It's a pretty normal thing, women in medical research. Though I guess I did impress people by leading a program at the age I started. So yes, sort of cool." Once she finishes cleaning another scrape she moves on to the next. "But you'd be surprised what medical books have in them. Do you want to talk about your recent issues? Maybe I can help."
no subject
She does laugh some at the comment about the clothes swapping. Because yeah, a large enough chunk of her closet back home is stuff she's still borrowing from her friends. And they still have stuff of hers.
“Well, want might be a strong word.” A weak attempt at a joke trying to calm her creeping anxiety. “I wouldn't be opposed to more detailed advice about headaches, nightmares, trouble sleeping, auditory and visual hallucinations.” Yes, she knows that's a lot. “School counselors can only do so much.” She was working with what she had at the time.

She finishes tending to the last scrape she can find and moves to sit down. To consider the list of issues.
"I have sedatives I can give you. A young man is helping me test them but I believe I have reached the proper dosage for baseline individuals. I should be able to calibrate it for you. It's a liquid, and I try to flavor it to be pleasant. Headaches we can address with pain medication. As for hallucinations... That's a bit more complicated. Those medications are beyond my normal scope of compounding."
Counseling of course sounded like an important approach to that and once more she lamented the lack of therapists here.

"You've got a practical response to medication and I really respect that young lady. Here."
She reaches into a drawer, sorts some things out, and pulls out a little baggie of light blue pills.
"To help you sleep. One pill a night. No More than one pill. They've put bigger people than you out."
no subject
"Sorry in advance that you're probably going to be seeing me like a barista sees a regular customer at a coffee shop."
no subject
"Trust me on this. It will fit your needs. They are a deep sleep good for reducing awareness of nightmares. We dream every night. Always. It's the memory of them or not that affects us. These, though, reduce impact of it. I've tried it with... a specific sample group that I know the efficacy of."
A barista? Well, there's a solution for that.
"I take bribes in punk clothes, high heels, and meal deliveries."
