FALL TEST DRIVE MEME

FALL TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Fall in Temba and Sh'Ka
Temba seems almost peaceful, breathing out a sigh of relief after its near destruction. Just southeast of the city one finds signs of the damage in greater evidence. The recent lava flows have taken out large stretches of vegetation, replacing them with fresh volcanic rock left bare at the surface. In some places there's even residual heat given off, especially closer to the volcano that now rests as an unending reminder of what was nearly lost. Meanwhile in the city itself the plants that would normally provide a natural abundance outside of the domain of the greenhouse seem to offer scant pickings, perhaps a result of the intense heat of the summer.
Meanwhile in Sh'Ka fall proves to be a threat, though in a new way this year than in any before. The danger derives from the Blood Vines near the train station. Apparently ash-rich soil only feeds the vampiric plant, and its spines are larger than ever as its vines lie hidden under the mounds of ash, ready for any unsuspecting prey.
Explore
Despite having been protected from being destroyed by the volcano itself and unlike Sh'Ka not having been buried in vast amopunts of ash, Temba still suffered notable damage from the earthquakes that came with the volcano's eruption. Previously restored buildings were damaged and others entirely caved in on themselves leaving them beyond any hope for restoration. The streets and paths are even worse to traverse than they used to be but for what it's worth water and electricity are still working. Most of the time.
Needless to say, exploring is more risky these days as buildings may still cave in without warning and seemingly solid roads may crack open to drop anunsuspecting wanderer into underground caves left behind by the quakes.
And yet the city can still be explored. If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Now what's happening with the hangar?!
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

[Why do people keep saying sorry when they have nothing to do what he's talking about? He doesn't even hear the rest of what Rogers says. His mind easily brings up the training Gladio's been doing with him. He plants his feet where he's supposed to, pulls his elbows in, and strikes out with a fist, aiming for Rogers' cheek.
Violence shouldn't be his first go to. But it is, and having all the wrong questions pushing the right buttons is just going to get those results.
Billy doesn't get to go to whatever universe he wants when the aliens were done with him. He doesn't get back to California's sandy shores, he doesn't get to see his mother again. Billy doesn't get to make up for anything long enough to become more than a pep talk from a jock the next year.
Billy dies and there's nothing he can do about. There's nothing any of them can do about it.]
JUST SHUT! UP!
no subject
It's not a bad one, but it also doesn't actually seem to hurt him a whole lot, either. If Billy wants, he can get another one in. Steve would tell him not to in case he hurts his fist, but he doesn't want to egg him on to do just that.
Instead, he crosses his arms over his chest and asks: ]
Are you done?
no subject
And that’s the only one he plans on throwing until the guy crossed his arms like it was nothing and patronizes him. Steve may not mean to egg him on, but that stance and those words do.
He swings again to try and get the other side of Steve’s face. Billy thinks having the sides match would be funny.]
Fuck you!!
no subject
Billy, I don't wanna hurt you.
[ But he might want to just let him get a little frustration out since it's not like it bothers Steve. ]
You wanna talk, use your words.
no subject
Then he speaks, voice shaking but it’s quiet. To Billy, it sounds loud in the quiet kitchen.]
I don’t get to go home and keep living. Doubt the aliens will let me go somewhere else.
no subject
[ He shifts his weight, and then he trepidatiously reaches to gently place a hand on Billy's shoulder, to steady him. ]
Look, I'm sorry.
[ And now that Billy's calmed down, Steve doesn't know what to say not to set him off again. It's just what he does. ]
Would you rather get help trying to figure a way out of it, or would you rather not talk about it again?
no subject
He glances at Rogers before pulling his shoulder down out of the touch and leans against the counter.]
Don't touch me. I don't want to talk about it. You wouldn't fucking get it anyways.
[Not that Billy knows the best ways to explain it.]
You wanna know more about it? Find Robin Buckley. Maybe Harrington. Robin's better at talking though.
no subject
[ But he doesn't reach out for Billy again, because Steve's not rude like that. ]
And no, maybe I wouldn't get it. I wouldn't know unless you explained it. And I'm not gonna ask your friends to talk about you, I'm not a gossip.
[ But anyway, he seems tired. So Steve dries up the plates and stacks them back where they ought to go, and then washes his hands. ]
You doing anything to channel your anger? You hit pretty hard.
no subject
[Well, Robin sort of was. Eddie a little bit maybe. They seemed to be the only two willing to give him the time of day. Maybe one day they even show him the watch so he could read that time himself.
He pushes himself up to sit on the counter. Good thing there’s no health department in Temba.]
Gladio‘s teaching me to fight better. Teaching me to use an axe and shit. Gave me tips when we were trapped underground for safety n‘ stuff.
[He reaches down and stops the tape player before hitting rewind on it.]
no subject
[ Though he's a little worried about Billy with a weapon, only around other people.
Steve would relax, but he also feels like since he didn't pay for the meal, he also might as well start cleaning the place up a little. ]
Haven't met Gladio yet. What's he look like?
no subject
You don't have to clean; you're not a damn maid.
Gladio's built like you. Says he's a warrior, a protector for his king back home. Told me he'd see to getting me an actual axe for fighting in case shit happens here. Figured it'd be good for firewood because winter's probably on the way. I don't know what heat is like here.
no subject
[ And he finds that extremely important, so. ]
Has anyone else been around for the winters? Maybe we could ask.
no subject
[And he'd use it in his fireplace in the beach cabin. Keep the warmth in there as best he could to keep the nightmares out. He'd have to reinforce the walls to keep that chill out, too.]
Figured it'd be like Indiana with snow and shit. Contributing, you could probably build. Or touch the datapoint for security so you could be patrol or something.
no subject
[ Though he doesn't know about touching the datapoint for security, but at this point he doesn't really actually understand the full meaning that statement. ]
Know what buildings went down with the volcanoes?
[ It'll probably go faster if they concentrate on building one thing at a time. ]
