FALL TEST DRIVE MEME

FALL TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Fall in Temba and Sh'Ka
Temba seems almost peaceful, breathing out a sigh of relief after its near destruction. Just southeast of the city one finds signs of the damage in greater evidence. The recent lava flows have taken out large stretches of vegetation, replacing them with fresh volcanic rock left bare at the surface. In some places there's even residual heat given off, especially closer to the volcano that now rests as an unending reminder of what was nearly lost. Meanwhile in the city itself the plants that would normally provide a natural abundance outside of the domain of the greenhouse seem to offer scant pickings, perhaps a result of the intense heat of the summer.
Meanwhile in Sh'Ka fall proves to be a threat, though in a new way this year than in any before. The danger derives from the Blood Vines near the train station. Apparently ash-rich soil only feeds the vampiric plant, and its spines are larger than ever as its vines lie hidden under the mounds of ash, ready for any unsuspecting prey.
Explore
Despite having been protected from being destroyed by the volcano itself and unlike Sh'Ka not having been buried in vast amopunts of ash, Temba still suffered notable damage from the earthquakes that came with the volcano's eruption. Previously restored buildings were damaged and others entirely caved in on themselves leaving them beyond any hope for restoration. The streets and paths are even worse to traverse than they used to be but for what it's worth water and electricity are still working. Most of the time.
Needless to say, exploring is more risky these days as buildings may still cave in without warning and seemingly solid roads may crack open to drop anunsuspecting wanderer into underground caves left behind by the quakes.
And yet the city can still be explored. If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Now what's happening with the hangar?!
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Deep End
That was fine because Angeal could both respect and understand that, even in a foreign place.
Looking back down at his amber beer, the former First nodded up at the other.
"Thanks."
And he idly wondered how out of place he actually looked.
no subject
"No problem. We could use more strong arms around here. How are you against giant monsters? What weapon?"
He wants it clear he can read this much of who the man is. So they can have that understanding between fellow fighters that Gladio finds easiest.
no subject
Thank Genesis' Goddess there.
"I can handle my own. Upon arriving, I found that I have a standard issued sword from home." And he'd used that against Sephiroth. The Buster sword handle had taken a blow from the silver haired elite warrior while Angeal blocked Genesis with the Shinra sword during training.
However, he didn't want to talk about the Buster sword, or his family's honour or Zack or any of that.
Still, he figured a question or two wouldn't hurt things.
"What about you?"
no subject
"Greatswords. About my size. Pretty useful things when you're taking down megafauna back home. Or a great shield, as I'm a trained protector."
no subject
So that's right out.
"Are there places to have swords made here?" While he personally wasn't going to look for one, it was good to know if they had a place that could repair swords. The shield sounded good too, and his thoughts went to when he'd used one as that alternate form against Zack.
Shields weren't his thing normally though and he shook his head as he looked at the other warrior, tucking that particular regret away.
"A trained protector you say? Is that something like military?"
no subject
Which meant they were beholden to his moods. Which had seemed gloomy to Gladio lately. The man was hurting and Gladio had no means to cure it.
"Something like it, but not entirely. I mean, I was also raised to lead a military, but again, my main role was that of a bodyguard to someone important."
Someone precious. Gladio smiles to himself at that thought.
no subject
Plus he just got here and while he wanted to get back to where he was, there wasn't much he could do about it right this second and he damn well knew it.
The former First Class went to go ask about this bodyguard appointment, but he saw that smile. That told him a little bit more about the man in front of him.
"Are they here with you? Or are they back home and waiting for you?"
no subject
no subject
"Can you clarify that a little?"
And he hoped the other could.
no subject
Which was hard to explain, and he didn't fully want to get into it because it hurt to know they could fail Ignis like that.
no subject
"That sounds odd. You two know each other, but from different worlds or timelines. Does that happen often around here?"
no subject
Everyone had their own stories here, and very few of them ever sounded good.
no subject
"Understood." He figured this guy was more open than himself so he might know. But since he didn't, there was no harm in that. "So what does everyone do all day here?"
no subject
He watches his love fish, he makes bonds, and he plans for a future where he can get the people who wanted home back to their home, no matter what battles need fought.
no subject
This was reassuring. He used to like to jog every morning and sometimes dragged Zack with him. Well it wasn't the Lifestream, but he could do things that he used to enjoy until he went home, whenever that was.
Protecting people who couldn't fight if that was what was needed, he could do that to if it came down to that.
no subject
You do what you can with what you have. But workouts, those are a bit more common actually. And Gladio did his best to keep in shape with those.
"Wouldn't mind someone who knows their way around a sword though."
no subject
He had no idea how often people would have a chance to date or marry here, but it was a nice thing to hear even if that was a dream he'd thought about back home but could never have. This would be due to his profession and even if he had a child, he was more than sure that Shinra would want to kidnap it. But here, life seemed to just go on as usual in this place for whatever reason. And while he wasn't sure if that was a good thing or bad thing, he then heard the part about a sword.
"I'll take you up on that offer." Angeal replied before taking a sip of his beer.
Life going on as usual had to start somewhere.
no subject
"And I'd be happy to do it. Starting with morning runs perhaps? Got to keep your legs strong if you're going to be agile enough to get out of the attacks."
no subject
Setting his beer down, he nodded along to what the other warrior suggested. "That was a philosophy I had back home." Even if he couldn't get Zack to agree to that.
"But morning runs are a good thing, clears the head."
Hopefully, he might find something that made him happy, like maybe cooking things or gardening.
no subject
Of course, Noctis could teleport, so that was a whole thing.
no subject
"Have to say I know the feeling. So there were times I went by myself."
no subject
ANd that's important.
no subject
Ginger beer, okay.
Looking up at Gladio then, Angeal nodded. "It's easier, and it made me think about getting a dog."
no subject
Because that he could do. Probably.
no subject
Besides, if he had a pup, it would be his priority here.
