FALL TEST DRIVE MEME

FALL TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Fall in Temba and Sh'Ka
Temba seems almost peaceful, breathing out a sigh of relief after its near destruction. Just southeast of the city one finds signs of the damage in greater evidence. The recent lava flows have taken out large stretches of vegetation, replacing them with fresh volcanic rock left bare at the surface. In some places there's even residual heat given off, especially closer to the volcano that now rests as an unending reminder of what was nearly lost. Meanwhile in the city itself the plants that would normally provide a natural abundance outside of the domain of the greenhouse seem to offer scant pickings, perhaps a result of the intense heat of the summer.
Meanwhile in Sh'Ka fall proves to be a threat, though in a new way this year than in any before. The danger derives from the Blood Vines near the train station. Apparently ash-rich soil only feeds the vampiric plant, and its spines are larger than ever as its vines lie hidden under the mounds of ash, ready for any unsuspecting prey.
Explore
Despite having been protected from being destroyed by the volcano itself and unlike Sh'Ka not having been buried in vast amopunts of ash, Temba still suffered notable damage from the earthquakes that came with the volcano's eruption. Previously restored buildings were damaged and others entirely caved in on themselves leaving them beyond any hope for restoration. The streets and paths are even worse to traverse than they used to be but for what it's worth water and electricity are still working. Most of the time.
Needless to say, exploring is more risky these days as buildings may still cave in without warning and seemingly solid roads may crack open to drop anunsuspecting wanderer into underground caves left behind by the quakes.
And yet the city can still be explored. If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Now what's happening with the hangar?!
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

“No, but I can see how you'd think that. I haven't been here a super long time.”
no subject
"So, you're not dead. I'm not dead," Max sighs out. "I want to be happy about that, but I'm just," she breathes out, "really worried about everyone else back home." She does reach out to touch Chrissy's arm and make sure, curious inspection, nothing rough.
no subject
“I had no idea what a mess was back home.”
no subject
Hugs are not something she's accustomed to from most people, but when Chrissy goes in for one, Max returns it, briefly. It actually felt secure, and Chrissy feels very real.
"Yeah. Giant mess," Max agrees, eyes flickering everywhere as she still absorbs all of this. "I have to ask. Did you come here before anything bad happened?" She doesn't want to say 'before you died,' but that's what she means. What does Chrissy know?
no subject
“You mean before I started hallucinating clocks and spiders and other things, and then got trapped in a mental nightmare with a cosmic horror? No, came after that; I know I'm like two seconds from dead.” Max might be somewhat tiptoeing around it, but she's not.
“You?”
no subject
In theory, that should make it easier to talk about, but Max still only says, "Same." Pause.
"Just don't tell anyone that, yet. I want to handle that." And make sure Billy doesn't learn. At least, not until she's on her way out of here to go back.
no subject
What a thing to be able to relate to someone else with, jeez. It couldn't be something nice, or fun? No. Had to be this.
no subject
It is an unsettling thing to share with someone. Speaking of.
"I'm sorry I didn't really reach out to you. You obviously needed help. I walked away too easy."
Max would be very glad to share a fun thing, though. Like a sleep over.
oh hello feelings punch
God, that group of people. That often reckless, but much more brave and smart and resourceful group of people. Taking on problems they shouldn't have to but doing it anyway. She wishes she would have been able to have been there with them doing that; she told Robin she wished she could have been there so that she could have made probably some of the best friends to have.
Yeahhhh, same here
Here, they have another chance, though. Chrissy can still be apart of their group.
😭
💞
Max breathes out and darkly chuckles. "Like brother like sister."
A beat, "I get it, though. I was already being hunted at that time, too."
If she knew how much the Mindflayer had scarred Billy internally, how much guilt it left him with, she would have wished she had done more to Vecna than just rip at his throat to get free. She might also go to Billy now, instead of wait.
But right now, she's getting to know Chrissy.
"You know.... Vecna's not here. We could just, do something fun."
no subject
“We could. Actually, I owe Robin a real girls night sleepover experience, complete with music, nail polish, snacks, shenanigans we never tell boys about because we're too cool, and so on. I could use some planning help.” Sounds like a good team up to her.
no subject
She perks up at the mention of sleepover.
"We deserve a sleepover. Definitely no boys," Max agrees. She grins. "I only have one song on my tape, but I can help find some snacks and nail polish in this place." Someone has to have at least nail polish, right? And she can hit up Tommy at the diner for snacks.
no subject
“What's the one song?” She knows what it's probably for, but might as well find out what Max considers her favorite song.
no subject
Max's smile brightens. "Kate Bush. Running Up That Hill."
A beat. "What's your favorite song?"
no subject
“That's a good choice. Mine is Uptown Girl, because sometimes I really am that predictable.”
no subject
"Uptown Girl?" Max repeats. "It's an okay song." At least that is still music.
no subject
"At this rate, we could have a Hawkins karaoke night with these songs." Just saying.
no subject
Max laughs, but looks unsure about that one. "If we can find a microphone. I guess we could."
