WINTER TEST DRIVE MEME

WINTER TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!

Winter in Temba and Sh'Ka
Lots of snow.
MORE snow.
Indeed. It's snowing. A lot. From one day to the next both Temba and Sh'Ka are covered in snow and especially in Temba these masses of snow may even collapse some of the more damaged buildings, so be careful where you seek shelter.
But the Agrii are trying to help and we all know nothing ever gets weird or wrong when the Agrii decide to help their He-Rows. Two small, vividly colored snowblower drones are doing their best to clear paths along the most used streets of Temba. It looks like one of the Agrii has used their years of observing frustrated He-Rows shovel and magically melt snow wisely. Unfortunately these little drones, despite being equipped with large googly eyes, don't really see what they are doing and while clearing out one street may end up blocking five others as well as the doors to buildings.
And if it isn't the snow itself or the little snow drones blocking you in, there are still the prevailing dangers left by the earthquake that are now well hidden under snow. Huge cracks in the ground are now perfectly camouflaged, so be mindful where you step. You may end up in an icy underground cavern without ever having meant to end up there.
In other areas the cold has a value for a time. The much diminished flood plain soon freezes over enough for skating, until it too ends up in a layer of snow. But that's more easily brushed aside so maybe you can do something with that? Or perhaps it's just better to stay inside, where there is heat and perhaps other people avoiding the heavy blanket that covers Temba.
Sh'Ka is also covered in snow as mentioned before, but it lacks the little snow-blowing helpers sent by the Agrii. So here the paths between places will have to be those you forge yourselves. At least Sh'Ka doesn't have the same issue with ice caverns just under the surface, or with buildings collapsing until the weight of winter's most predictable weather system.
Explore
Despite having been protected from being destroyed by the volcano itself and unlike Sh'Ka not having been buried in vast amopunts of ash, Temba still suffered notable damage from the earthquakes that came with the volcano's eruption. Previously restored buildings were damaged and others entirely caved in on themselves leaving them beyond any hope for restoration. The streets and paths are even worse to traverse than they used to be but for what it's worth water and electricity are still working. Most of the time.
Needless to say, exploring is more risky these days as buildings may still cave in without warning and seemingly solid roads may crack open to drop anunsuspecting wanderer into underground caves left behind by the quakes.
And yet the city can still be explored. If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
RETURN OF THE SHIPS!!
Try the network!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

“I haven't seen anyone else from home here.” Before she can ask, if she was even wondering.

List of priorities - get a warm shower; try not to miss Toni, too much.
"It's best my beloved Toni isn't in this place," Cheryl says with a shake of her head. It hurts, but it's also not something she wishes on anyone else.
"So," her eyes roll down, then to Jughead, "what exactly do Riverdale outcasts do in alien spaceships? Do I at least get a laser gun to shoot people with?" She would prefer her bow and some arrows, but will make do.
no subject
“Now that there's two of us, we can set new precedent and decide what Riverdale outcasts do in alien spaceships. As for weapons, you could try seeing what access exactly comes with using the security datapoint, so maybe; I'm the wrong person to ask about that one, because that's not my expertise.”
no subject
"Yes. My TT would do that for me," she says, voice a little sad, but touched.
Cheryl breathes out, and attempts something a bit more chipper as she reaches to take Jughead's arm in hers.
"Not just Riverdale outcasts. Serpents." That solidarity means everything to her, right now.
"What is your expertise?" Because that could be useful knowledge.
no subject
“But, communications.” Look, zero people should be surprised here.
no subject
A beat, then she nudges Jughead. "And you, Jughead? What's the last thing you remember?" Because maybe that matters, in some weird way? Or, he asked, so she's going to make sure she has the same knowledge.
"I was hoping you might shock me, yet," Cheryl teases him, smile evident on her face.
no subject
He returns the smile at her teasing. “Nope, sorry, I've had enough surprises here already so I'm taking predictable things where I can.”
no subject
"You haven't lost your mind. This is happening," Cheryl insists, before her eyes roll up, then around.
"Unless I lost my mind, too."
She laughs. "You being predictable. Who would have seen that coming," she quips dryly. "Guess I'll have to pick something."
no subject
“No one, obviously.” You know, only just everyone would have seen it coming. Which he knows. “At least there's a decent selection of options.” No one would be thinking there's too few, anyway. “Which also reminds me, how much of these ships have you seen?” He can show her the rest of what she hasn't seen.
no subject
"As in everyone...." She says that, but still gives Jughead a smile. Whether it's friendly or not is up for debate.
"I've seen the amethyst shores. Seems it is nearly a whole flying town, though." She is a bit new. "I hope you have something interesting and new to show me."
no subject
no subject
"Oh," her whole body seems to perk up. "Show me this replicator. We'll start there. Then the training center and greens."
no subject
“There's also mini data points here so you could always touch one and see what happens. And switch if you think it sucks.” At least that's easy enough to do regardless.
no subject
"You will have to show me those, as well. I will sample whatever sounds useful." If it helps pass the time until they figure out how to get home? Then she'll do it. She might - just might - even try to help out with the situation. If it gets them home faster. And sure, that's the only reason.

She does give Jughead a once over, then tosses out a 'is that a compliment or a condescending gut-punnch' comment of, "I'm starting to see what my cousin sees in you."

no subject
"But if you must have it spelled out for you," she takes his arm, "Jugjug, you're being helpful, and kind." Cheryl sounds far more serious when she says that, expression a soft smile. "It means a lot to me. Considering," her eyes roll to the ground, "this is a shocking situation. Even if we've been through worse." Back to Jughead.
"It helps."
no subject
“And I definitely wasn't going to leave you to figure out everything here by yourself, for a lot of reasons. There's been worse we've been in, yeah, but this is easily one of the weirdest, so as long as we're both here you'll always have at least one person to get into probably mostly necessary trouble with or help get you out of it.” He gives her a quick smile.
no subject
"I don't need to redirect my annoyance at you, if that's what you mean. As for the alien planet situation, surely we can find someone better to take my complaints to. I want to save all my wrath for whomever that might be." Best not to spend all of it too early, not that Cheryl is ever lacking in sharp words or wrath.
"It is weird. Gets weirder to know there are people here with superpowers and magic," she tilts her head at Jughead, wondering if he's as curious about how real any of that is like she is.
I want it on record that I 100% did not type the last sentence here with a straight face bc L M A O
“Once you hear about some of the weird places people come from, that part actually makes sense.” Meaning it makes sense in that those worlds would have things like that, and makes sense that they'd be more likely to end up in a place like this. “On one hand, glad we don't come from the strangest place — on the other, a little mad we don't have powers like that.”
Also on record - I laughed reading it!
"You would want super powers." Cheryl shakes her head. "You want to be more of an outcast? Pass for me."
we all know I'll never touch a canon point past s4, but apparently will make meta s6 jokes in tags
And to the second thing, yes, he would. “You say that now, until you realize how much we all need a fast healing factor or being immune to injury to begin with.” That's at least something that would be practical to have around. And their track records aren't awesome there. “Then there's the million other less practical but more hilarious ones.”
it's a thing of beauty, allows me to do the same
"The only power I want is to bring people back from the dead," she finally admits, more solemn, then tone back to incredulous, "But it doesn't matter. None of it's possible for us, anyway."
do you even play a character from this canon if you don't shitpost a little?
“No but we do have these, which kind of count. Sort of.” He is of course talking about where they've finally arrived, the place where the smaller copies of the data points are as well as the replicator.
Probably not, lmao!
