I don't get a lot of days off, back home. We have a regular poker game, with Ben and Luke. If it's just the two of us, he wants to train, sometimes I can talk him down to basketball. That was never my sport, but he doesn't have the restraint for tennis. He'll let me take him to museums, I think that's my favourite, he looks so--I think that exhausts him, though. Any of that ringing a bell?

That's a shame, though, 'cause I love museums.

I like the Met the best, but the MoMA has my favorite painting. Monet's Water Lillies. He painted them at Giverny, during the last years of his life. He'd had cataracts, and that made him see colors differently. He'd had melancholic thoughts about himself as an artist as a result, but somehow, created some of his most celebrated and my personal favorite of his works.

Anyway, so--sorry, I think I knew that, about the Lilies. Not about Monet, like I said, he wouldn't talk much--but I knew he liked it, we always went back. Maybe I'll give the Met another chance. Why that one?

When you're there, they're so big that you can't help but feel small, like you're just a- bird, or something, on Monet's window, looking out at the gardens.
Guess I kinda wish we'd both stayed. And maybe I could've shown him the Lilies. I think... after New York, we both needed a break.
