FALL TEST DRIVE MEME

FALL TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!
Thread ideas:
Fall in Temba and Sh'Ka
There isn't really much out of the ordinary to note, even. The stone leaves that used to be a danger in Sh'Ka are no longer a danger as the leaves of the responsible trees seem more stable now. Perhaps it's because of the work He Rows did with the Barrys to stabilize the groves. So, luckily enough, both cities get to enjoy a fairly normal fall season.
With the exception of the small, unusually frequent energy storms that happen sporadically in both cities. They never last longer than a few minutes, never cover more than the area of a small building and their effect is hardly as drastic as that of their larger counterpart. Your powers are still being limited or taken away, but for a change your loved ones aren't trying to lure you down a cliff, fortunately. Though something feels off about them. They barely notice you when you catch a glimpse of them. Instead they are shambling on their way, seeming disoriented and distant at best. Should you get too close, you might even hear them groan...
Explore
Most of the buildings are run down and have clearly been abandoned for years; fortunately, the water treatment center appears to be working and power has been restored to be reliable. What used to be stores or places to live in lies in ruins, but there may still be something to scavenge among the rubble. Do you want to risk a swim in the flooded area that has turned into a deep lake that has proven to be home to verious harmful creatures; or does it draw you to some of the more prominent and partially restored buildings, such as the hotel, the hospital or the amphitheater.
If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist.
Explore the Ships!
There be storms...
Should you step inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and tries its best to keep you from getting to its origin. Are you going to try anyways? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance.

Connor | Detroit: Become Human
Connor is an android, and so while he does not consider himself disoriented, his internal decision processing completely breaks down when he abruptly boots up somewhere that is not Detroit with all his network connections severed.
No wifi, no data, no access to the secure satellite uplink to CyberLife's cloud. He closes his eyes and finds he can't even access the Zen Garden, which sends his processors into a spin. He's never not been in contact with Amanda.
This is not an ideal operating situation. And right when he learned the location of Jericho, too!
Could this potentially be some sort of hack by the deviant androids, meant to halt his investigation? That's one possibility, and the idea of makes Connor...
Well, not mad. He can't feel anything, after all. But it would definitely impede his current investigation, which, as noted, is not ideal.
His decision algorithms whir and process and give him a command.
> Connection failed. Remain in secure location and await retrieval from CyberLife maintenance crew.
Standing out in the open is not conducive to his mission, and, surveying the scenery around him, he doesn't see anywhere that is "secure". He overrides this command.
> Contact nearest human authority for instruction.
The area is also deserted. He overrides this one as well.
> Investigate surroundings.
Well, he can't argue with that. Literally, as this command can't be overridden. His algorithm has no other options.
For anyone observing this from the outside, it's probably odd to see a man standing stock still in front of the fountain, the loop of LED light on his head pulsating yellow. But it finally goes blue, and the man starts to move, looking around as he gets his bearings.
B: Fountain (but later)
After finding the initial data point, Connor has the necessary information to understand his situation. It's still not ideal, because it doesn't seem any immediate way to return to Earth is available. A quick scan of the network tells him that none of the humans (or other sapient creatures) here have discovered a way back, either.
(It doesn't particularly concern him that there seem to have been other androids here in the past, including others that share his name and model number. It's not like he's unique, after all.)
With his new information, his decision algorithms fill with commands, the highest priority being finding the nearest human (or otherwise organic) authority and receive commands from them. If CyberLife isn't here, and the Detroit Police Department aren't here, then he must fall in line with whoever has jurisdiction over this planet.
Unfortunately, the network doesn't have any useful information. No useful information, and no way to contact Lieutenant Anderson...
(Connor can't feel anything, so he can't feel frustration.)
Standing around is not ideal. So Connor scans the area for any sign of life, and soon begins walking toward a building where he saw movement. It's a place to start.
"Hello," he calls out, raising a hand in a neutral greeting, since he has no idea what the customs are here. Hopefully, whoever he found speaks a language that Connor can autotranslate into. "My name is Connor, and I am a CyberLife android, model RK800. Can you tell me who has authority over this jurisdiction? I should report to them immediately."
Succinct and to the point. If he's lucky, this person won't be as grouchy as Lieutenant Anderson...
[[OOC: I play Connor from the Human route but pre-deviant (specifically his canon point is directly after he learns the location of Jericho, so he's literally like 2 hours away or something lol). If you'd like the dirty details of all his gameplay paths up to his canon point, you can hit me up at

Doesn't mean he likes it though. Not someone that he knows as the deviant hunter from home. Honestly, York had stayed away from Connor for the most part when he was here last, and it's tempting to do the same again.
Then York reminds himself that Connor doesn't have any power here, and he's got Reeve and Richie to back him up in case anything happens. And if he can't find them? Well, there's always the library.
By the time he gets down to the city center, York's got his hoodie off, letting the chest LED glow gently through the worn shirt he's managed to keep since arriving. The smaller android keeps his distance, arms crossed. "Fucking great. You're back," he starts with, more venom in his tone than is a good start.
(Not that York is great at 'good starts' with people.)

Connor recognizes the man in front of him as an android instantly, though not one he can interface with. The placement of the LED and the unfamiliar structure of the android's body and face indicate a few things, though: this is a competitor model. Connor has no jurisdiction over competitor models.
Not that it really matters, since he is not on Earth and his primary investigation is on hold.
"I am not the RK800 unit you may have known - and without access to CyberLife's cloud backups, I can't see any memories he may have had of you." Connor inclines his head apologetically. "I'm Connor, model RK800, serial number 313 248 317 - 52."
Which should clear up any messy misunderstandings! He can't remember anything.
"You're not a CyberLife android." He tilts his head to the side: inquisitive. "Can I ask your manufacturer?"
no subject
"Yeah, I don't really give a shit which one you are. You're still the deviant hunter either way. This is a great fucking joke the aliens are pulling on me here." He rolls his eyes and lists his head to the side for a moment before focusing on Connor again.
Inspection of York would show various repairs and some damages, with only the repairs on his lower jaw and neck disguised as raised scarring.
"And no, you may not. It doesn't matter here, does it? I'm not a Cyberlife model, and you don't have a police station to go inside of so you can lick humans' boots."
no subject
Well, what a deviant android thinks of Connor isn't strictly his concern. But it wouldn't do to antagonize the very first person he meets here, especially if Connor has to deal with him in the future. He does still have a duty to protect any humans or other organic beings here if this deviant android ever goes rogue, after all.
"Just making conversation." He smiles. "So there's not a police station here; that answers my next question."
No PD to report to, then. But there still must be someone in charge.
"I do still need to find who's in charge here, so I can report to them. Or be assigned to someone." So he can be their problem.
no subject
The smile isn't met with one back, but York doesn't mouth off hostilities in response, so...progress?
"We don't really have someone in charge, no authority figure like we do in Detroit. We're more like a community that looks out for one another and help where we can." The aggressive look softens a little in his face, and there's a swatch of gold before it turns back to teal. "Which means you're a free android and don't need to be assigned to anyone."
Would the deviant hunter accept such a thing?
no subject
This news sets his LED spinning on yellow for a moment while his decision algorithms suggest and dismiss several new courses of action. After a couple seconds, it returns to blue.
"I'm an android," he says simply. "I'm a tool to be used by humans. If there's no one in charge and no command structure, then I will do what is needed by the community as a whole."
His processors can figure it out without a human handler. But he isn't "free". What does that term even mean, when thinking about himself?
no subject
No doubt Reeve and Richie could attest to York not listening to them about being safe and such. "You touch the data point yet? You can stay at the hotel or in one of the ships to rest up whenever you want." York hopes Connor isn't on his, and knows if he were human, he wouldn't rest well knowing a police android was rooming feet away from him.
B.
Connor?
[Something doesn't seem right, though. Maybe this Connor is from an earlier time period. Either that or he doesn't remember being here before....]
no subject
He nods in greeting anyway, his smile affecting a bit of a rueful, apologetic appearance.]
I'm sorry, but I am not the RK800 unit you may have known - and without access to CyberLife's cloud backups, I can't see any memories he may have had of you. I don't mind getting reacquainted, though.
[Because he doesn't mind anything!]
no subject
[Radley is disappointed, but not entirely surprised. Still, he smiles.]
I'm Radley.
no subject
It's nice to meet you, Radley. I hope I can be of some assistance to you in the time that I'm here.
[Which really should not be too long because he has higher priority commands to be following than whatever these aliens want of him...
But he can't very well pilot his own body back, so here he is.]
I'm looking for whoever is in charge. Can you tell me who that is?
no subject
[He chuckles awkwardly.]
It’s pretty much just the aliens in charge. We don’t have a designated leader among us.
no subject
His LED spins to yellow for a moment, then back to blue.]
I see. Then, are there any currently ongoing projects? I understand our current objective is to make a city inhabitable for the aliens to live in.

[Infrastructure work. Connor's LED goes yellow again.]
Construction is not one of my primary functions, but I do have the basic capabilities of all CyberLife androids, so I can be useful in a few different areas.

[He knows, he seems too good to be just a prototype!]
no subject
[He definitely wonders what other abilities will come when he’s out of the prototype stage.]
I can show you around town, if you’d like, so you can see all the most prominent places where we usually hang out.
