Spring 2025 TDM

SPRING TEST DRIVE MEME
Application FAQ | Taken Characters | Reserves | Application
Welcome to the Current Test Drive for The Revival Project!
This game is a spin-off from the closed The Drift Fleet game. For more information about the game, including more details on the setting, please check out the FAQ here or the premise here.
A thread on the TDM will be required for all applications. Please view the FAQ for information about how this works. Any questions about the game please direct to the comment section of the FAQ as well.
If you are a Drift Fleet alumni bringing your character from the game, please label your character as 'DFAU' on your top level. Also, keep in mind you have complete flexibility on how your character comes here. They could be taken before endgame, after endgame, two years after, one year before, etc. It's up to you! If you want to completely restart your character, they're not considered DFAU anymore and won't need the label.
So go! Explore Agra 10! And, as always, HAVE FUN!

Spring in Temba and Sh'Ka
There are also frequent rain showers out of sunny skies. The rain is warm and refreshing in a way that brings to mind glacial rivers and fresh mountain springs. It's pure, perhaps purer than anything you've ever experienced back home. They bring life and growth, but also hope. The buildings around the city almost seem cleaner after showers pass, and the sky a little bluer.
In Temba great flocks of sheep like creatures with glowing wool rove over freshly paved streets, pausing here and there to graze. Bright and colorful birds fill the trees as well, moving through the area like they belong. Once or twice you might even see a small mushroom or berry seeming to... ride them? What in the world is going on there? Perhaps someone can answer that question for you, if you wish to ask. Meanwhile in Sh'Ka there is a very different sort of outburst of life. In the area known best for its stone trees there are now flowering vines slowly working their ways up the monstrous growths. They smell faintly of honeysuckle and cucumber, and the local Deleons seem to very much appreciate their presence. The quarry too seems to, slowly, be filling up with clean, fresh water. Maybe, in time, a new lake will form. For now enjoy the chance to splash around if you wish.

The city streets of Temba are in large part relatively newly paved and sturdy. Some areas that seem less traveled may show signs of a large machine currently working on doing new work, which is a good sign of progress. Unfortunately the buildings around these roads are not always in as good of condition. Some look like they could topple at any moment. Better to be careful and perhaps avoid walking into places that don't look very stable. But the intact buildings have running water and electricity, so you'll probably be okay if you stick to those.
And yet, in spite of old damages, the city can still be explored. If you are lucky, you might even stumble over The Deep End, the bar located on one of the mid-levels of the tower residences in one of the residence towers. Unfortunately no bright neon signs can lead you there, but it does exist. Or perhaps you won't wander so far from the fountain and you'll find yourself in the Diner, or checking out the mostly intact and increasingly decorated space of the Hotel where many He Rows live. Or, if you wander a bit farther northeast you might run into...

There be storms...
The weakened remnants of these power-altering storms blow over parts of the planet every once in a while. And sadly one of these last gusts of misery seems to be approaching. You can tell from the darkened sky and the flickering of electronics. You have the option to find shelter in one of the buildings to wait for it to pass. Unless, of course, you are caught unaware.
Should you wind up inside the storm, or even get lost in it, it will show ghosts of people you know and those you don't. It drains you of any super-human abilities and shuts down all technology and magic in its area. Are you going to seek the relative peace of the indoors? Or are you going to chase the whispers of people from your past? Maybe you will simply find yourself calling for help or stumble across another lost soul in need of assistance. One thing is for sure, this micro storm won't last long, no more than an hour at most, but it will be an experience like few others for the time that it is there.

Ran Mouri || Detective Conan (Case Closed)
Ran Mouri didn't see the point of waiting around at the fountain. It wasn't like she was going to find any answers to her unexpected arrival if she didn't go looking for them herself.
Ah, was she always like this? Sonoko was usually the sort to take charge, or, thinking even further back, Shinichi was the one to suss out when something seemed off. Though, looking around..."off" didn't even begin to describe it. Was she in a city? The wilderness?
Just as she began to get her bearings, a violent gust pushed her forward several steps, and she had to firmly plant her feet to the ground to brace against it. An arm quickly rose to her face, shielding her eyes from any flying debris--but as she lowered it, a cold surge of disquiet rippled up the back of her neck, setting each of its hairs on end. In the corner of her periphery, she could've sworn she saw-- "Sera-chan?"
No, that couldn't be right. As soon as she blinked, the road was empty. Besides, it wasn't like this was Tokyo...but, still...
"Sera-chan!" There was no harm in calling out, was there? "Sonoko!" She cupped her hands around her mouth as she threw her voice into the distance. What were the odds that she was alone in this strange place? Unless this was all a dream.
[Network Entry]
[The weather had evolved from an intermittent gust to a full-on gale at this point; but Ran was a teenage girl, after all, and teenage girls can manage mobile devices in even the most dire of predicaments.
Her hair kept whipping in her face as she activated the video feed. Her voice could scarcely be heard with the wind beating against the speaker...or was the signal weak?]
"Is anyone out there? Am I dreaming? I'm trying to find safety in this weather, but--"
[She starts, and pivots to glance behind her--what was that she just saw?! She turned back to the screen, her expression pinched with worry.] "I just got here. I'm lost and--well--I won't be any trouble! I just need to get somewhere safe so I can call someone." ['Someone' who, Ran? You haven't the faintest.]
Network
Where are you? I'll come and get you.
no subject
Thank you. Though-- [She can't help being on her guard a bit; if he was an official or some sort of public servant, wouldn't he have identified himself?]--ah, no. Nevermind. Should I wait here? Stay put?
no subject
I'm coming now. If there's a building you could step inside, that would be safer for you.
no subject
A building...are you sure I won't be imposing? [Or trespassing?]
no subject
The buildings near the fountain are places such as the diner, the hospital, and the welcome center.
[No, he will not pronounce the latter the way the Agrii spell it.]
Any of the nearby buildings should be alright to enter. Anything that looks ready to fall apart, on the other hand, I would be leery of.
Dangerous Encoutners
But there's the young woman, seeing someone shout their head off. Poor thing. Must be sick from storm badness already. No helmet or anything! Abby's really a hero, if you think about it, for rushing to grab her arm.
"Come on, we've got to get inside!"
With the storm taking out the electronics in her helmet her voice has to sound SUPER strange, especially with the manual filter still helping keep her air purified. But that's a matter for another time. Right now her goal is trying to get this girl inside. Maybe it will be okay.
